Delightful cottage in secluded and picturesque countryside, quality and stylish furnishings and extensively equipped kitchen.. Friendly and welcoming hosts - track approach to the cottage a little challenging but highly recommended!

The cottage was really lovely and was so well kitted out, we wanted for nothing.. Set in beautiful countryside but close to lots of the loveliest coast and countryside in the area. The host was very friendly and helpful and was working really hard to make sure we all felt safe in the covid context. All in all, highly recommended.

Would probably have liked a microwave, and a hairdryer.. The two items would not stop us booking again, we loved everything about Penlanfach and will definitely book again soon Hannah was excellent at showing us all about the cottage. Kind regards Marion Knight

We enjoyed the Farmhouse so much we have already booked a week for Autumn. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. We relaxed totally at the property and we liked the fact that dogs were made welcome.

Where do I begin with the praise for this cottage. Yes it was in the middle of nowhere but thanks to brilliant directions (don't follow the satnav) we found it with very little effort. The only thing I have to complain about is that we could only stay the weekend where a week would have been better. Hannah and Roger couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Hannah took the time to take us around the property explaining the quirks and switches of the house. Roger saved the day and let me know I had left my car lights on, the next days trip to a wedding would have been a problem. The whole house was clean and well equipped. Even when my friend said she wished she had a hot water bottle for her back ache, there was one in the cupboard! After one particularly wet walk, all items were placed around the range where they steamed nicely until they were dry. Very pleased the next day to be able to put on dry walking items. We didn't need to light the fire for warmth but couldn't resist it for the atmosphere. What made it particularly restful was Hannah's understanding of what its like to have dogs that might not be the easiest pups around. Normally, I spend a lot of my holidays making sure that the dogs are not upsetting people and so don't get the rest I need. Because of her understanding I felt confident that no situation would arise where I would have to leap up and herd the dogs in to another room away from someone knocking on the door and just entering. There was also a fantastic system of Buddha and Grommit statues on the kitchen windowsill letting everyone know when the dogs were down the lane having a walk so any clashes between house dogs and visiting dogs were avoided completely. I normally sleep very badly but this cottage was so quiet at night that I snored the night away. Birdsong for an alarm clock. No problems with that. My advice to anyone thinking of booking this cottage - leave the world behind and spend some time just relaxing. Yes, you can use your mobile if you walk around a bit, the garden had a bit more signal, but this is what you should expect in the depths of Wales. The lack of signal is not particular to this cottage. There is a television and hundreds of DVDs to pick from but mostly, we sat quietly reading or sleeping and forgetting the madness of work -. I can imagine that for some, especially children, used to being glued to the box or the internet it would be a trauma, but to be honest, if that is what you want from a holiday, go to Butlins.

This is a very smart and comfortable cottage, refurbished to a very high standard and well equipped, but still retaining all of the charm and idiosincrasies of the old farm. It is a in a lovely location and its grounds are enchanting and fabulous for both children and adults. Hannah, Roger and their young son are friendly and inviting hosts and could not be more helpful or accommodating. Our only quibble is that both the rental property and the owners' cottage are very close together and you cannot avoid bumping in to each other each day and occasionally getting involved in the familiy's activities. Please don't get us wrong, there are millions of other people who you would prefer not to be neighbours with, but I guess we didn't appreciate how close and intimate we would be on occasions. The proximity meant that we did not feel the grounds were ours to explore and use as freely as we might have wished (despite being told we could). Our young son enjoyed being involved in activities with the owners son (who is a lovely and well behaved young man), but as parents we felt obliged to encourage him to do so, so as not to seem rude and isolationist. I would not wish to discourage anyone from going to the cottage as it is really lovely, but if you are the sort of family that enjoys complete separation from the real world then you may not feel this here. I'd just like to say finally that this review is meant as an honest opinion of our visit. There is really absolutely nothing to complain about and our comments are genuinely not meant to be seen as criticism. It is fairly obvious from the website and photos that the owners live on site so perhaps we might be seen as hypocrites to make such comments. We had a wonderful time and our hosts were very lovely - just wished they could have been a few hundred yards away (and that's because of our frailties not theirs !).

Beautiful welcoming cottage. Lovely hosts nothing was too much trouble. Great base for exploring south west Wales. Lovely if u want time away from it all. There is good local produce within easy reach, a big local supermarket delivers to the cottage too. A great local guide is provided on arrival. We had a lovely family holiday there and would highly recommend it. X

A warm welcome from the owners on our arrival. Our children loved the garden and exploring the grounds and surrounding countryside. The house was just lovely with plenty of room for everyone. It's an ideal base to visit Cardigan, Tenby and surrounding attractions. A lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for your holiday.

July 2012
We loved that the cottage was well away from any roads and that we could take the dog with us. Our four children had a fantastic time exploring in the garden, playing on the trampoline and playing in the stream. We really loved our holiday and made the most of the sunshine to visit nearby beaches and National Trust properties, then returned to light a roaring fire in the evening.

We liked the location and the peace and quiet. The walks around the cottage were lovely and we were very fortunate to have the hottest week in March, no clouds and wall to wall sun. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all exactly what we wanted and needed from our break.

We loved it so much in January that we had to return this summer. Gorgeous house and superb garden. The farmhouse is lovely enough to use as a retreat but in an area that you can also be out and about enjoying different experiences and places every day.

Another wonderful family holiday at The Farmhouse - we are so glad we came back after our first holiday here last year. This time we also rented the Cowshed so that our parents could join us and they too fell in love with the cottages and the beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back again next year.

October 2010
The cottage was so perfect in every way. Very peaceful, the pictures of the farmhouse on the internet lived up to the real thing. We would recommend this farmhouse to friends and family. If you want to get away from it all and don't mind not having a mobile signal (which we were really happy about) then this is the place for you. The surrounding area of the cottage is perfect if you like space and peace and quiet. A place to re-charge your batteries - just remember to buy in food and wine in as the local shops are not just around the corner. The local butchers in the village Crymych supply fantastic local meat, well worth a visit. One of the best holidays we have been on. Lovely - a real get away. I wish we had booked two weeks. Will book again.

The farm cottage and grounds were very well maintained and situated in a very secluded position some distance from the main road. Our children, dog and relatives really enjoyed the whole expirience of exploring Pembrokshire and spending cosy evenings in recovering from the days activities. We couldn't have been more pleased with the beautiful cottage and its surrounding grounds which provided us with the ideal relaxing getaway.

Fantastic cottage, location and weather made our holiday one to remember. The farmhouse exceeded all our expectations and was a real home from home with everthing we could need for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for the dog and children who enjoyed the garden and pond. Already thinking of re-booking for next year!

June 2010
The property has a lovely lived in feel and was very welcoming. Everything we needed and more was catered for particularly the in kitchen which was very well equipped. We loved the little book asking us for our sighting of birds and wildlife (an idea we have taken back to our own cottage). The garden furniture was a real luxury. We all enjoyed our holiday and would love to return again in the future with other members of the family and maybe hire both properties.

This property was perfect for a country holiday with our dogs. The cottage was comfortable, warm & cosy & had every item of crockery/cutlery required for a self catering holiday plus a very useful information pack supplied by the owners. The location was excellent for sightseeing & visiting stunning beaches. Sykes representatives & the owners of the property were extremely informative & helpful when making my booking & arranging for key collection.

The accommodation was excellent the owners information instruction booklet was written in a very friendly way. The owners go the extra mile to help people have a good holiday i.e there were spare wellingtons left at the property with the invitation to use them if necessary. We felt totally relaxed had a great stay.
