This is our 2nd stay here and we will definitely be back again. Absolutely everything required for a relaxing, peaceful, comfortable stay. The owners have thought of everything and if there is anything else,or you have any questions, they are very quick to respond. This time we brought our son, wife and 2 children and they all had the best time. The hot tub is amazing to de-stress. A little slice of heaven and we’d definitely book again! Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful second visit to pen-y-gaer. The hosts are wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. Dilwyn was fab with my 5 year old who decided he wants to be a farmer when he is older after seeing Dilwyn and another chap rounding up sheep next to the house. The whole trip was great. We love the isolation and the hot tub as well as the kid splay equipment. The house had everything you would ever need. Thank you so much for having us!

My family have just got back from this lovely place. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay for however long you are staying for. The magnificent views of open fields and the sea can be seen from pretty much every room in the property the best views are from the kitchen / dining room. The hob tub was lovely and the views from there in the evening watching the sunset were incredible. There's quite a lot to do in the nearby towns / village. The property has so much space and a lovely enclosed garden area with a swing and slide which our daughter loved. The owners were very nice and helpful and nothing would of been too much trouble for them. I would definetly reccomend this cottage if your looking for a getaway in wales.

We had an absolutely brilliant holiday in this accommodation.. The house was clean ,very comfortable, warm and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We didn’t want to leave this wonderful place. The views and surrounding area are breathtaking and with the addition of the hot tub it pretty much makes the perfect holiday. Our children loved the sheep and exploring the fields and the owner is really lovely. We highly recommend this place if you want some peace and quiet and to be surrounded by wildlife , it’s the perfect place to relax . It’s close and a short drive to many wonderful coastal towns . Highly recommended , we would love to return. Thanks for a wonderful holiday , the Smith family.

Very remote with outstanding views our children were able to spend a lot of time outside playing and we didn’t need to worry, the owner was very helpful and even left the children a Xmas present which was very kind.. Perfect break for NYE, left to our own devices and had a brilliant time in the end.. Comfy beds, cosy lounge, there was a hot tub but due to cold weather and winter cold we didn't use the facility. We played a game of scrabble every morning that was in the house. We didn't venture far other than to Morrisons for cold & flu tablets which was not to far, Asda delivered food shopping too which was brilliant!!! We let off some fireworks in the huge field behind the house which was a lovely addition to the break.

Amazing! Comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation.. Amazing views. Lovely owners that settle you in then leave you to enjoy your holiday, but are there if needed. Only thing I would say is to take towels because, considering there's a hot tub, we had what we considered to be a hand towel and hair towel each! There weren't hand towels in the bathrooms either. Thankfully we took towels, which we could use after showering, as was going somewhere after, but getting out of the hot tub at night and wrapping, or not, a small towel around you was very chilly!!! It's a chlorine hot tub which was perfectly clear at the end of the week. We would definitely return if we found another last minute reduced offer.

The location is beautiful but would be impossible without a car.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners meeting us to guide us there and show us round is a lovely personal touch and gave us the chance to ask advice if days out etc. The only suggestions we could think of were the oven didn’t have proper trays so we could only cook one tray at a time, the hot tub went cold very fast because of it being so exposed and the towels we were given were too small for some of usZ they are all very minor things though as the rest is absolutely perfect!!

We've now stayed here twice in the last 7 months. We stayed during Hurricane Ophelia in Oct 2017 and then again over the gorgeously hot May bank holiday weekend. This is the perfect place to wind down and relax, especially if you're from a busy city! Owners are fantastic and like to help in any way possible. They also leave milk and yogurts in the fridge upon arrival which is a lovely touch after sitting in a car for 3/4 hours. The cottage is well cared for and the scenes are breathtaking. We have been lucky enough to have daily visits of rabbits, see little lambs and deers, all within a couple of meters from us! If heading down to Llandudno (I highly recommend that you do) and you like fish, book a table at The Seahorse - It's a little pricey, but well worth it for a holiday treat. The food was amazing and we'll definitely be going back. We're hoping to visit this cottage again at some point this year we love it that much!

We are large family of 7 our 5 kids (10,7,3,2 and 2months) myself and husband had a lovely time here, the kids had space to play especially in the garden play area we went in October it was windy but very enjoyable.. It was clean homely and comfortable and well equipped. The owners Dylwyn and his wife, went above and beyond to make us comfortable and we also needed rescuing from the owners as we took a wrong turn and our car was stuck on the mountain at a turning! Rest assured Dylwyn and his wife came and pushed us out of the mess! It was such a experience and we had such a great time. We visited waterfalls and the beach which was a short drive from the property. I really can't praise the owners enough they were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful cottage with view and wildlife but be aware it is miles from anywhere.. Not a problem if you want to enjoy complete seclusion but is quite a trek to main attractions. Quite fun getting in and out on single track roads. Very picturesque!

This cottage is sat on top of a hill so tranquil, with the most amazing views day and night. The hosts Dilwyn and Monon go out of their way to ensure you have a great time in their cottage. The cottage has everything you possibly need , beautifully decorated and well equipped. The hosts were always available when we needed them for advice. Nice touch of leaflets of possible attractions to visit and advice booklet of availability of local shops and cafes. We had shopping delivered by Tesco so no need to go near supermarket.Very tranquil only wildlife to keep you company, saw many different types of birds. We loved the hot tub facility where we loved watching the sunset whilst relaxing in hot tub. Easy reach to lots of local attractions and plenty of lovely walks in the area. Thank you Dilwyn and Monan for being great hosts . We recommend a visit yo this vottage didnt want our holiday to end. Janene and Michael

This property is fantastic. We arrived at the property early with a hungry toddler in tow and the owners couldn't do enough to help us get settled in. We were joined by another family with a toddler and the house and surroundings were perfect. The addition of the slide and swings was great for the kids to play and the hot tub was perfect for the adults to elax in after bedtime. Walks are quite literally on your door step and the views are breathtaking. Overall we all had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definatly visit the property again in the future. I'm already starting to think about when this will be.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pen Y Gaer and have all agreed we would love to come back. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family for a relaxing break away. The property is nicely tucked away over a hill down a gravel drive, on approach you think really all this is ours for the week! Nice big drive, room easily for 2 cars. Our 2 year old thought it was great having his own playground. When we sat outside having a cuppa and taking the view in we felt very happy, lovely view, peaceful - shame a holiday cottage probably highly valued as this would be a dream location to live! Lovely log burner and cosy lounge, brilliant farm style kitchen with plenty of equipment. Beds were comfy and bedrooms were lovely. Whole cottage was clean on arrival, and plentiful on space. 2 bathrooms a bonus for a few people to get ready in a morning. Would recommend a clothes line to be put up outside but other than that a great property. We never used it but they had a fantastic BBQ available in the garage. We did however use the Hot tub, we were told we were the first to use it as only just installed - it was heaven to take in the view of the sea in the distance at night, with the sound of sheep in the hills and just the rustle of the breeze as company was priceless. We would return again - I am hunting for more things to do in the area to justify a week away at the Cottage :-)

Do you want beautiful scenery and to be away from the rat-race? Then this is the place for you. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with all mod-cons. We loved our holiday and the children (aged 7 and 10) enjoyed the freedom of roaming without the ever present threat of traffic, the adults felt tranquil in letting the children 'off the leash'.

Exceptional panoramic views from the mountain top. Very friendly owner who escorted us from the village and checked on us during our stay. The property had been furnished to a high standard and with forethought to the holidaymakers who would be occupying it. The buzzard who guards the mountain is a sight to be seen, especially when he is perched on a fence post a couple of feet away as you slowly drive past.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location off the beaten track. The views are fantastic. We loved walking in the surrounding countryside and the cottage is ideally located for days out to local attractions and the coast. The weather was variable when we stayed but as we looked at the views from the lounge with the log burner on, we did not mind at all.

I stayed at Pen Y Gaer from the 8th to the 11th of september with my wife, Mum and Sister. The 2 storey Cottage has recently been renovated and furnished. It 's very spacious, clean and has a new cottage feel to it. The Cottage has all the essentails with everything you will need to cook, wash and relax. The cottage has a magnificant view looking out over farmlands and across to the sea. There are 2 pubs one a 5 minute drive away, and the other is a 10 minute drive. I would recommend Pen Y Gaer LLannefydd as a really nice place to enjoy a holiday. The Hosts are extremely nice and helpful in anyway they can.

Excellent well-equipped property furnished to a high standard; in a beautiful rural setting with wonderful views over the North Wales coast countryside. Great place for walking or relaxing, suitable for families with plenty of outdoor space for the kids. It provided us with a fabulous base to explore North Wales. We should really keep it a secret; had a most enjoyable stay - highly recommended.
