This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 9th century, hence the name of the 14th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Although the barn conversion is lovely (upstairs kitchen/living room nice and works well), and the beds were very comfortable, what lets this place down is internet access. The WiFi access to any internet, let alone broadband is terrible. We are talking dial-up 1990's internet speed here. If you want to be able to stream video on your phone or any platform you won't be able to. You'll struggle to load thumbnails of apps like iPlayer or Netflix let alone play the movies. Even reading BBC news on their site is slow. If you want to work and download/upload files from e-mail or any cloud, you'll be frustrated. I wasn't able to do any of the above throughout my entire stay even in the middle of the night without competition from neighbouring lets on site. If you want any of the above (especially kids that like to use their ipads, which I guess is most of you), I suggest you look elsewhere.

Partridge cottage is one of three cottages in a very well thought out barn conversion. We wanted a short break which would also accommodated our dog & were lucky to find this. The owners have worked extremely hard to make the cottages comfortable & welcoming, incorporating lovely furniture & accessories. Thank you for the lovely fruitcake, milk, butter tea & coffee, very much appreciated and all the additional provisions that were provided. The best equipped cottage we have stayed at. Only one slight suggestion, a gate added to the upper balcony to keep dog or children from going down the steps to the garden unattended. We will certainly be booking again on our next visit to Anglesey.
