This is a beautifully decorated and furnished cottage in a lovely setting.. The garden is well stocked and maintained and there is true peace and quiet. The butcher stocks meat from the local farms and the cottage is easy to cook in. The local pubs sell good food so eating out is also good here. The cottage owners are on site and very visible . They couldn’t have been nicer to us. Nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly like to holiday here again and we could never have enough of the spectacularly beautiful Welsh scenery. A truly lovely place to be

Lovely peaceful setting, lovely owners who made us feel so welcome.. You can relax here and choose to do absolutely nothing if you want! Enjoy local walks in Dyfnant forest or nearby Lake Vyrnwy like we did, or hop in the car and go to the coast. Would definitely visit again.

We visited Parc Cottage in February 2020.. Had originally booked Fri-Mon but decided to change the booking so we could stay for the week with it being half term. Not impressed by extra admin fees I had to pay Sykes, especially as it was only a matter of hours after confirming the booking that we decided to stay for the week. The purpose of the break was for a change of scenery and escape from busy city life. This cottage certainly did that. It is surrounded by an abundance of trees and greenery, which we love and the dog had heaps of fun on his walks too. I was suprised though by how isolated it is, expect a good half an hour drive if you decide to venture out and about. Unfortunately due to the weather.......yes we were lucky enough to time it with storm Dennis! We were pretty much confined to the cottage. Otherwise my children would have loved to have played outside on the grass in the front or jumping over the stream. The garden at the back also has nice enclosed paved area.....my only concern if we came back in the summer would be the steps up to the grassed area. At the edge of the grass it drops back down to the paving which isn't ideal for my 2 year old. A bit of fencing to run along the edge of the grass would sort that out. Communication prior to our visit was excellent, the owner even advised me that ASDA deliver groceries etc. to the cottage. So I was able to order a shop online in advance and got it delivered the same evening we arrived. On arrival....once we knocked on the right door, haha. The lady was very pleasant and welcoming. She took the time to show us around the cottage and showed me how to operate the heating/hot tub and where the recycling/rubbish goes etc. The kitchen is quite modern but still has a cottage feel to it which is nice and it is well equipped. There was even a supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning sprays, cloths, laundry capsules and bin bags etc. So no need to bring your own like I did. The only thing I think the kitchen was missing was a large spoon and draining spoon for beans/peas/sweetcorn. The owners had also left some fresh eggs, bread, milk, teas, coffees, jams and a bottle of wine for us which was a lovely. There are 4 bedrooms in total, all were clean and nicely decorated. There was a bath towel and hand towel on each bed ready, aswell as some little chocolates which the kids loved! The master bedroom in particular was exquisite and finished to a high standard. The only comment I would have about the master bedroom was that the mattress was quite hard. This didnt bother my partner at all but I am used to a soft mattress so I made use of the spare duvet for me to lie on. All of the bathrooms were also clean and modern with plenty of toilet rolls and cleaning products. I think the games room and the front living room could do with a little modernisation. The wifi was also quite slow at times. The owners were very helpful and quick to sort any little problems. They even went out of their way to find something for my dog to sleep on after my other half forgot to bring his bed

Just returned from a little weekend break at Parc Cottage. We arrived on the Friday evening and stayed until the Sunday. My wife booked it and she couldn’t speak highly enough of the owners who she spoke to after booking the cottage. On arrival there was essentials awaiting us on our arrival. Milk in the fridge, fresh eggs and lovely bottle of red wine. The cottage is fantastic little get away and if you want a quiet break this is the place to go. It is clean and tidy and the bedrooms have been renovated to a high standard. The hot tub is a lovely little extra and was used both days by ourselves and the kids even in the snow ( yes snow). We wasn’t expecting it and it caught us by complete surprise but we didn’t mind as all we wanted was a lazy chilled weekend and we couldn’t have asked for more. The owners were fantastic. Although the check out time is 10am the owners messaged to say don’t rush in checking out due to the snow and the fact we had kids. We will definitely be returning. Get the hot tub ready

My sister and I, and our 2 daughters, really enjoyed our stay at Parc Cottage.. As others have said, the photos of the outside don’t do it justice, lovely setting. Hot tub very good and checked each day by Mr Evans. He and Mrs Evans were very kind and helpful, lovely to find some supplies left for our arrival. The cottage is very well laid out and furnished, very nice kitchen/dining area, new washing machine, tumble dryer etc. Mrs Evans recommended places to go, one being Derwen Garden Centre, good cafe, centre even has some Show gardens and a maze. Vyrnwy Dam well worth a visit, Port Meirion not too far for a day out. We enjoyed using the pool table although it could do with new green baize as it is quite worn. We would definitely recommend Parc Cottage.

Beautiful peaceful surroundings - the outside photos do not do the property justice - so much better in reality.. Great place for getting away from it all. My 2 sons loved the hot tub. Plenty of space for 3 active teenagers and lots of welcoming touches provided by the owner. Highly recommend this property.

The cottage was far better than we expected as the picture really doesn't do justice.. We think the front of the house is lovely and would make a far better lead picture.

July 2019
The Cottage was spotless and we were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming and very helpful.. The welcome hamper was lovely with fresh farm eggs and a lovely bottle of wine. it was lovely to relax in the hot tub in the evening once the mats had disappeared. Even though it was advertised as dog friendly dogs weren’t allowed upstairs and we have a very anxious dog and being in a strange place it didn’t really help the situation. Being on the edge of the forest we were plagued by flys. On the morning of our departure the owners were round at half seven to empty the hot tub which made us feel rushed to get out and a little disappointed that we could use it one last time before we left as we didn’t need to be out until ten.

Fabulous holiday cottage.. Beautiful, spacious and clean. The owners provided essential supplies of bread, milk, wine, fresh local eggs. They were on hand when needed and nothing was too much trouble. Our teenage boys enjoyed using the flat land for football. Our dog was safely enclosed in the garden. Hot tub was fab. Lovely setting and only a short drive to the Lake. I would highly recommend this property.

Absolutely faultless and such a relaxing weekend away celebrating my 30th! Were greeted by very friendly hosts when we arrived and given a tour around of the property. It was much bigger than expected and the place was spotless! Lovely touch to have some of the essentials already provided for us when we arrived so we didn’t need to worry. The hot tub was where we spent most of our time and being able to enjoy a bbq as the weather was amazing! Would certainly stay there again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the countryside!

This is a really lovely cottage and we had an amazing time! The owners are very welcoming and helpful. When we arrived, the cottage had been nicely warmed and the log burners were lit. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, biscuits, eggs and milk, which were all much appreciated. The kitchen diner in a great family space for cooking and relaxing, with two comfy sofas next to the log burner. One of the rooms in the house has a pool table in it and this was a huge success with our 9 year old (and us). There is also a cosy lounge for watching TV. Very nice bedroom and modern bathrooms. The hot tub was a welcome treat in the evening and everything is clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back, because it was a perfect stay for us.

We spent the Christmas week at Parc Cottage and had a lovely time.. Llinos couldn’t be more helpful when we realised that we needed more freezer space she sorted this out, next challenge was additional table space sorted on Christmas morning. Cottage was lovely and clean, warm and well kitted out. Christmas decorations were up and we had a very nice welcome hamper.

A lovely place to stay with some great features, lots of beautiful places to walk, friendly, helpful owners, and a fantastic hot tub.. We had a wonderful week. I was a bit worried about a previous review which said that dogs were only allowed in the kitchen and utility room but this wasn’t the case (though in fact the kitchen was so big that we spent all of our evenings in there). Standard Sykes rules on pets apply, we were only asked to make sure that the dogs slept in the utility room, which was fine. I would definitely book again. Parc Cottage was set in a perfect location for peace and quiet.. There isn’t a shop for miles so make sure you take all you need with you or arrange with the owner for a Tesco delivery. We had a lovely family gathering for my husbands 60th birthday we were 6 adults and two children. We never felt cramped plenty of room and three bathrooms which was ideal.

Just got back from an amazing weekend at Parc Cottage! We visited for a friends 30th birthday as 6 adults, a toddler and a dog. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, they had stocked the kitchen with fresh eggs, bread, milk, tea, coffee, etc and even a bottle of fizz in the fridge to help kick start the celebrations! the cottage is perfect, well equipped and very spacious, with 2 log burning fires, a games room with a pool table, a lounge with sky tv & dvd, and a hot tub outside on the patio. Owners explained to us about the fires and hot tub, and told us if we need anything they just a knock on the door away. Late Saturday evening whilst we were there, we had a massive downpour of snow, with us due to check out Sunday morning we were informed by the owners that we could stay another night because of the condition of roads! The snow made the cottage and surrounding areas even more beautiful, think the local post office lady was glad of snow as we trekked to her shop and cleared her out of all but the kitchen sink. As the snow thawed and we left on Monday, we asked the owners what we owed for the extra night, we were told...... don’t worry it’s fine. Thank you so much for helping us out, very kind genuine, generous people, we look forward to visitIng again.

This cottage is absolutely beautiful and the cleanest place we have ever stayed in.. We couldn't fault a thing, the owners were really friendly and all the little added touches (chocolate for the kids, fresh eggs, washing and dishwasher tablets, Milk and bread). We had the best time here and would highly recommend to any family wanting a relaxing break away. Thanks so much!

August 2017
We had a joyous time at Parc Cottage with some wonderful walks around the forests and some others within the vicinity of Lake Vyrnwy.. The owners were very friendly by meeting us upon arrival and showing us around the cottage; instructed us on how to use the hot tub and log burning fires. However, once we had settled into the cottage we quickly came across signs in every room stating, 'Do not do …’ for example; ‘Do not allow dogs upstairs, Do not allow dogs on furniture, Remove engagement rings and other jewellery in the hot tub..’ the list goes on. Also, the number of plates, pans and cutlery were clearly numbered on labels in each draw and cupboard: as if we weren't trusted. These rules didn't need to be placed up around the cottage in numerous locations; maybe contained within one ‘House Instructions’ booklet. Another negative to mention would be the fact that it says on Sykes Cottages website, that this is a ‘dog-friendly’ cottage; not certain dog-friendly rooms. The prospect that dogs can only sleep in the utility room (a small room, which we found to be rather cold) is uncalled for as dogs need to become familiar with new surroundings and often need to know where the rest of the family are sleeping. We do understand the rule that dogs aren't allowed upstairs or on the furniture, but going to the extreme of controlling where the dog can sleep at night is not very comforting. In addition, no dog bowl or dog blankets were available: these have always been provided in other cottages we have stayed in. Furthermore, the internet speed at the cottage was very slow; no access at all during the evening. Overall, we felt on edge ensuring the house rules were met. If we were informed about all of these rules prior to our visit, especially the lack of dog friendly facilities, we would have changed our decision to stay at Parc cottage. Thank You

Stayed 26 -29 September for long weekend. Clean, well heated and comfortable accommodation in an idyllic setting. Be warned to bring adequate supplies as our party of 9 travelled back to Welshpool to stock up on the day of arrival, as local shops are sparse and a good ride away.. Other than that brilliant!!

Had a lovely time at Parc Cottage, the setting is very quite amongst the trees. The cottage has all the amenities for a great holiday, there was 8 plus an infant staying and a small dog. The rooms are clean and tidy, the family table is big enough for everyone to gather around. There are 2 wood burners and plenty of logs should you need them. The games room has a pool table for the odd night we stayed in. There is horse riding just around the corner from the cottage with some great forest treks. We had a day trip to Lake Vyrnwy where there is cycle hire or kayaking. Barmouth is around 1hour away, it's a lovely beach and full of typical seaside town shops. The owners where very helpful and available should you need them. The Wifi was a bit intermittent we had to go to different places to get a signal. My only down point is that dogs are only allowed in the kitchen and utility room. This was not stated in the brochure. I personally do agree with the not upstairs or on furniture rule, but our pet sits with us in his bed on a night in the living room. This should have been made clear before we arrived as it would have altered our decision to stay there.

Outstanding setting, the grounds were absolutely stunning and the owners were very friendly & helpful.. I would highly recommended this property, we had an amazing time. We hired a narrow boat for the day In Llangollen, we loved every minute of it. We went to Barmouth, a very pretty seaside town and beautiful beach. You need a car to get around as the property is secluded. This is the best holiday we have had in this country and will be returning.

As a party of 9, we found the cottage to be very spacious. It was great to have such a large dining table and lounge area. The games room with pool table provided us with hours of fun too! We chose this cottage for its size but also for its brilliant location. Situated only a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful Lake Vyrnwy, which is well worth a visit. We did white water rafting in Llangollen and quad biking in Middletown, I would highly recommend both those activities, in particular the rafting! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend staying at this cottage.

In total 10 of us (4 adult) spent a week in this lovely house near Eryri National Park but turned out there is a lot to see nearby as well. The location not difficult to find after receiving the owners precise itiner. The house nicely located just bellow the woods near to a small brooks. Planty of room indoor in case the weather does not allow all day activity outside, everyone loved the pool table! The kitchen-dining has enough room for 12 person easily at the same time. Two bathrooms, 4 separate bedrooms plus one attached. The landlord always available for any sort of help if needed. We all would like to go back!
