We had a very enjoyable week at Painters Cottage.. The cottage is very cosy and has everything you could wish for a self-catering stay. It is situated in a beautiful part of Herefordshire but only a few miles away from The Black & White Village Trail, highly recommended. Stephen & Amanda are very friendly and helpful hosts, thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Painter's cottage turned out to be probably the best ( 2 people) cottage we have stayed in.. Spacious, clean, comfortable and set in a lovely position we found it very relaxing. The owners were very helpful and made us feel welcome. All these things gave us an excellent holiday.

The cottage was very well decorated and maintained.. The beds were very comfortable and extremely clean. I would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to anyone. We have already booked another cottage with Sykes, this time to the north Norfolk coast.

The cottage was very comfortable and spacious.. The bed was lovely and we had a good nights sleep everynight. Because of road closures we arrived very late but were still greeted by the owners. During the week the owners came to see us to see if we needed anything they were great. Lovely bathroom and shower cubicle. Lots of interesting places locally to go and visit. The cottage is set in a lovely garden which we wandered about in. We would recommend this cottage to any couple as it is truly wonderful.

We spent 2 weeks at Painters Cottage on a working stay recently.. Welcoming hosts. Lovely scones and jam on arrival. Ideal location for touring the area. Use of Garden pleasurable. All the facilities were good, comfortable bed, delightful spacious sitting room, well kitted out kitchen. If there was one thing I could suggest, I would change Dishwasher for Washing Machine. We had a 2 week stay and couldn't do any clothes washing unfortunately.Would stay again without hesitation, and highly recommend.

Lovely cottage with all you could need.. Lovely base to explore the area. Only minor improvement would be a washing machine instead of a dishwasher, but it was still perfect

We enjoyed our stay very much.. ..a lovely cottage. The reason I have undermarked facilities is because I could not get wifi , although it stated available on details. Possibly not fault of owners....they helped me, but to no avail. My server is Virgin, maybe that was reason. Similar problems with my mobile.

...well, if expectations are already high, exceeding them is not to be expected ! We found the owners to be very pleasant, and your (Sykes')contribution to be impeccable.

WE HAD NEVER COME ACROSS SYKES UNTIL IT WAS DISCOVERED DURING A SEARCH FOR ACCOMMODATION IN THE WELSH BORDERS, MAYBE A HIGHER GENERAL PROFILE COULD BE CONSIDERED.. WE HAVE STAYED IN NUMEROUS SELF CATERING UNITS IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE COUNTRY, PAINTERS COTTAGE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A HIDDEN GEM, ALTHOUGH THE OUTSIDE/ KERB APPEAL DOES NOT DO JUSTICE TO IT'S INTERIOR. MORAL , DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER.

We received a very warm welcome from Amanda and Stephen along with lots of useful local information.. The cottage was very comfortable, beautifully presented and served as an excellent base to explore Herefordshire. There are so many places to visit within a 20 mile radius of the cottage. We had an excellent week at Painters Cottage.

We are a mature couple who have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years.. Painters Cottage was the best cottage we have stayed in. The setting in the owners garden was absolutely gorgeous, with views to the front over miles of countryside as far as the eye could see. From the lounge, the view of the large area of grass, flower borders, apple trees and a surround of tall mature trees was so peaceful and relaxing. The owners, Amanda and Stephen, were absolutely lovely people and they gave us a very warm welcome. I also came home with a big bag of apples. I would recommend this cottage to couples who want a peaceful holiday in a lovely setting, convenient to visiting a variety of lovely areas, with lovely hosts.
