Orchard Cottage is the perfect base for exploring Yeats County and the north-west coastline. Conveniently situated just off the N4 and 5km from Sligo Town, this 200-year-old traditional, stone-built cottage is set on a working farm. It combines the charm of the old world with the comforts of today. Guests can experience the fresh green countryside by day and the warmth of the open fire by night.

The cottage comprises timber flooring throughout the living and bedroom area, while the bathroom is tiled.
The living area boasts a brick-clad open fire, with a fully equipped kitchen. Relax in the tranquillity of the orchard garden, or enjoy a quiet read on the back patio area.

The cottage is so conveniently located that a five-minute drive leads to the many shops, restaurants and pubs – with the region's traditional music to be had in some of the pubs. Visit the many beaches, lakes and rivers this lovely county has to offer, with surfing and golfing in Strandhill, the ancient megalithic tombs at Carrowmore, and Knocknarea Mountain – all less than a 15-minute drive away.

This is a lovely peaceful cottage. It has everything you need. We felt very at home and relaxed there. Very easiy to get to. In striking distance of all the places and people we wanted to visit. Close to shops, the town and yet in the countryside. We loved it. It was so well presented and lovely quaint touches. We will be back for sure. You are on the road home quicky on the return journey too.

Leo & Maura have done an excellent job in restoring this cottage. The balance of offering modern facilities whilst keeping the character has been met. The views & quiet country road made it a haven to set out from each morning & return to each night. Close to all attractions yet offering the peaceful grace of country living. This is my third visit to Orchard Cottage. And it will not be my last. As my daughter lives in Sligo, I visit at least once a year. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. First of all, Leo is the consummate host. He is there if you need him, always helpful with whatever your needs may be. The cottage itself is wonderful. Small, quaint, extremely well-appointed, and very comfortable. It is literally a five-minute drive to Sligo town, with beautiful views of the Ballygawley Mountains. I should qualify my review by saying that I am very picky when it comes to accommodations. This place is simply perfect.

We have had a wonderful holiday staying at the beautiful and charming Orchard Cottage. The cottage is truly quaint but has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Special touches such as lovely white laundered bed linen and fuffy white towels add luxury. Leo our host is also charming, so helpful and respectful of our privacy. County Sligo has wonderful beaches and forest walks as well as grand country houses and places of historical interest. We would definitely come again, and recommend Orchard Cottage to all our friends.

Had a fantastic stay in this most charming and cozy little cottage nestled in the idyllic country side setting of Carraroe, only a 10 minute drive from the fabulous Culleenamore Beach and from there, just a stone's throw from Strandhill. The cottage is ideally located 5 minutes drive from Sligo Town too, with lots of eateries and shops to explore. So snug, a home from home, the tranquil setting and sound of the birds .. and a very friendly and lovely donkey down the road all added to my memory bank and will for a long time to come. A true gem of a place and a real find, would highly recommend to anyone who was looking for a little bit of r & r. Our hosts were more than accommodating, so friendly and kind. I cannot fault. Thank you so much Leo & Maura for a 5 * experience.

A very cosy cottage, very good furniture, much space inside and very well equiped. We spent only two nights, but quite enjoyed it. Much to do and see all around The owner is very nice and welcoming, it was a pleasure to meet him. A place to go for sure !

An Amazing tranquil, peaceful, rural, private quiet place to chill out. My wife and I recently spent 2 weeks here and it was wonderful despite the rain. On the edge of town and country, local amenities just a short drive away. The owner is a super host and we will return here again next year. I certainly recommend this hideaway if you require solace.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in Orchard Cottage. Unfortunately my husband was working but I was free to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery in and around the cottage and further afield. I was blessed by amazing weather which made it extra special. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need and Leo and Maura (hosts) kindly left us a generous welcome pack. The linen in the cottage was the best I have seen, beautifully laundered bed linen and white fluffy towels were a real treat. Leo was a very attentive host and was full of local information. I would definitely recommend Orchard Cottage and I look forward to our next stay

On a scale of 1-5, Orchard Cottage is a 10. I have stayed here for 2 months now, and it is with tears in my eyes that I have to leave. This place is perfect. It is immaculate and comes equipped with everything you need. It is isolated, yet within a 5 minute drive to Sligo. The road is perfect for a leisurely stroll, passing pastures and cows and amazing scenery. Leo is the ultimate host--there when you need him, but never intrusive. I cannot recommend it more highly. Please stay here!!

We've stayed at Leo's cottage for 3 months and had the most wonderful time there. The cottage is cosy and even has a lovely fireplace. The view over the mountains is priceless and the area is very quiet, but it is still only 5min into town by car. Leo was always so kind and helpful and provided us with everything we needed. We would always stay there again and recommend Orchard Cottage to anyone!

We were met by the owner at a convenient pupblic spot and guided to the self catering cottage which was very well maintained and very convenient to all the local beauty spots and walks. The owner also furnished us with lots of local information about music groups we could join and which level might suit us,after enquiring about our interests. There was a welcome pack which included a bowl of lovely fresh fruit, milk and buiscuits with enough tea and coffee to get us started. We were left in complete privacy with contact numbers and information about heating, lighting etc. We felt very well catered for by an exceptionally lovely friendly person who we felt had our best intersts at heart. This place was such a gem. Everything you would need in an idyllic secluded setting and just a 5 minute drive to Sligo Town and 10 min from Strandhill. Leo was also the perfect host. I would definitely come back here.

My husband and I stayed at Orchard Cottage while I was researching my next mystery. It was the perfect location for touring the wild western way and the hosts couldn't have been more charming and helpful. The cottage is spotlessly clean and we were warmly welcomed with fresh fruit, sweet treats and organic eggs. If you dream of a stay in an idyllic Irish county cottage and enjoying your own peat fire after an evening of traditional music at one of the many pubs this is the ideal place for you. If I could rank higher than ten, I would. This was by far the best stay of our one month in Ireland. I would highly recommend Orchard Cottage to any of my friends and family. The location was lovely-very close to Sligo but far enough away so that we weren't in the city. Leo and Maura were so nice, so hospitable... he pulled the nettle out of the yard so we could play tag with our kids, and they even invited me up to listen and play traditional Irish music with them. It was wonderful. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!!
