Unfortunately I can not reccomend Olivia's hideaway I will post this copy of the last email I sent sykes cottages to which I had no response.
Hi I am just writing to follow up with some feedback on our stay seeing as nobody seems to be bothered to get in touch from Sykes cottages. We were really disappointed during our stay with the poor service and communication during our stay. As you know we reported our shower broken on the first morning of our stay to which you responded by letting us know somebody would be out to check, we were then informed the shower needed fixing but nobody could come out until Monday morning as nobody available to repair this was disappointing but we accepted this, we left the key on monday and heard nothing from anybody at all, we arrived back later on monday to a footprint in the bath and the shower control knob was clearly broken/loose. We had no further update from anybody so we were unsure if to leave a key again, I did email Sykes cottages for an update but received no response, a few days went by and it became clear you were ignoring the situation so we just carried on with our holiday. As you can imagine a small bath and no shower for a family on an active walking holiday is far from ideal. To top things off on our last morning when we were packing our things ready for check out by 10:00 we had a knock at the door at 9:00 from a plumber coming to repair the shower I found this very unprofessional that someone would be sent when we were due to leave and while we were very busy, so I advised him to return later after we had left.
As I am sure you can understand this is very poor and I will be posting this email as my review on sykes cottages and this property.
