Really good to go back to Old armoury barn after staying last year.. It still remains a very good place to stay. Very clean, modern and comfortable. I am fussy about where I stay and it meets our high standards! The owners are very friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need. They even provided us with spare beach towels, bucket and spade for our little one and toys to play with. The warm scones on arrival are a lovely touch too! WiFi is poor, and is the only thing that we would suggest could be improved. Thank you!

The Old Armoury Barn was a delight to stay in and Mark & Jaqui Bartram were excellent hosts.. The accommodation was furnished and finished to a very high standard and is a place we would certainly recommend to anybody looking to stay in the area.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Old Armoury Barn.. It's the perfect place to stay if you want to be right in the centre of Ashburton and yet have peace, and lovely views. There's no traffic noise at all. The upstairs sitting room and kitchen are modern and well designed, spacious and full of light. They look out over the rooftops and the hills beyond. The house is comfortable (including good mattresses) and well-equipped. I stayed in winter and the house was very warm. I was impressed by the efficiency of the electric radiators, and how easy it was to adjust the heat in each room. The owners were unfailingly helpful and kind. It was a real pleasure to have fresh flowers in the sitting room and bedrooms, and to be greeted with tasty home baked scones, with jam and clotted cream. The only improvements I'd suggest would be a salad spinner, small size paring and chopping knives, and one really comfortable high-backed armchair for those of us who are older and need a bit more support when sitting.

We really enjoyed our time at the Old Armoury.. The owners went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. The accommodation was beautifully designed, spacious and comfortable. And the location was amazing - right by the shops and restaurants, but totally quiet (apart from the church bells ;) You do need a narrow car though! The little lane is only 7 foot wide!

The cottage is everything and more that you would wish for in a holiday cottage.. The owner is very welcoming and a cream tea is waiting for you on arrival. We could not fault the cottage itself or the owner. Negotiating the extremely narrow entrance and car parking space into Tanners Yard was the only drawback. We have a C-Max and with the side mirrors in there were only millimetres to spare and one of us needed to be outside guiding the driver through. However, parking is available in the nearby public carpark. This is only a short distance away but you have to pay.

The cottage was fantastic, spotlessly clean and with everything we needed.. Cannot recommend it enough.
