Area
The small village of Barmston lies on the east coast, six miles south of Bridlington. This friendly, rural village overlooks the North Sea, with stunning views along the coastline from the cliff top, where on a clear day you can see for miles up and down the coast. The village centre has a pub serving food, and an Italian restaurant is only a 10 minute walk away. A duck pond completes this quiet village, whilst nearby is a sandy beach. Situated between the traditional seaside towns of Bridlington and Skipsea, the area is ideal for family holidays with plenty of activities and attractions available, including Bempton Nature Reserve, Hornsea Freeport, golf courses and historic houses and gardens.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The cottage is beautifully presented and ideally situated if you enjoy peace and quiet along with long walks along the beach.. Being familiar with the area we knew the places that we liked to frequent for food. If you do not know the area then the following are worthy of consideration, reservations are recommended: Amici (Italian restaurant at the bottom of the road) The Chestnut Horse at Kelk, emphasis is centred around pies of various descriptions. Dacre Arms at Brandesburton serving good quality pub grub. The East Coast of Yorkshire offers something for everyone and Northview was a great base from which we could visit our favourite haunts and pursue our interests.

The cottage its self was clean and had all you needed.. As for dog friendly? Enclosed garden didn't exist, dogs not allowed upstairs but open staircase, dogs not to be left unattended. So ok the only thing in village the dog friendly pub was closed for refurbishment, so basically had to go to brid to shop, cooked everyday and new years eve Sat in a cottage after a drive to robin hood's bay.might as well of stayed at home n drove to beach for few hours everyday . What a waste of over 300 pound for 2 and a half days. Never again. I would of thought someone would of contacted us stating no pub as we would of cancelled

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful friendly village.. The cottage was stunning and spotless clean, the first thing that hits you as you enter is the beautiful fresh smell it is equipped with everything thing you need and there is no expense spared with the decor. Its set in a pretty little village close to a pub and the beach. We highly recommended this beautiful cottage and will be returning VERY soon. A proper little gem

Very pleasant week away with our dog.. Was a very good base to explore the area. The local pub ( black bull) was very friendly with good pub grub and very dog friendly. Only a ten minute walk through the holiday camp to reach the beach which was good for letting the dog have a run around.

My stay at Northview was perfect, the location to the beach and weather was great.. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped. It was good to meet the owners who were very pleasant. Lovely places to visit a short drive away. Nice walk to the cowshed cafe at fraisthorpe which is dog friendly. Definitely recommend this cottage. Many thanks Angie & Blue from Derbyshire

The cottage is lovely but the only drawback is the wi-fi isn’t good enough.. It is shared between cottages and we were never able to use it in the evenings. When it was useable in the morning it was extremely slow. It’s no use if you need to work whilst away or even just browse the Internet. I’m afraid it would stop us revisiting which is a shame as it is in a lovely location and as stated is very clean and comfortable.

Very comfortable cosy cottage.. Great spot being so close to the beach, pub & lovely Italian restaurant. Accommodation was spotlessly clean, very tastefully decorated, lovely bedding & soft towels. My only disappointment was the bed wasn't a double...more like a small queen...but the mattress was very comfy. Could benefit from a power shower but was fine for a weekend. Had a very enjoyable time & would recommend to small adults due to the bed!
