This cottage was the perfect base for our stay in Devon. Spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and with all the equipment needed for cooking. The Kingsize bed was a major plus point - we both slept very well. We loved the view from the large window and enjoyed watching a variety of birds come to the feeders.

Overall very good.. Lounge leather sofa well past its 'sell by' however and needed something more comfortable but we had to use loads of cushions (a contrast since almost everything else was really good quality). Also could hardly see anything with lamps - bedroom not so inconvenient as there were 2 lamps either side of the bed so possible to read just about, but in lounge only one small table lamp next to sofa and all three lamps had thick dark turquoise shades allowing very little light so had to keep bright overhead light on all the time in lounge. Recycling - although one line mention in info book about how the area was very rigorous about its recycling we found the 2 big bins outside the door both had large plastic black bin liners. But the owner had left us no info. about how to sort recycling and no different colours of smaller bins in order to do so - for e.g. in hallway downstairs where washing machine is there could be several smaller plastic bins with labels telling guests which recylables could be put in each bin etc. EASY! Recycling everywhere is always a bit different so wherever we've stayed this has never been ignored by owners. But a well built, clean, warm and convenient place and owner helpful and friendly.

Northlands Cottage suited us very well - the views over the meadows and beyond were amazing, also the wildlife was on our doorstep. The owners Jackie and Dave were so hospitable and welcoming to us. We had everything we needed for the 6 weeks we were there. We would visit again in the future.

Northlands Cottage was very comfortable and ideally located.. Close to major centres and yet still in the country with a village feel. Also the pub close by had a lovely restaurant with a bunch of friendly locals. The owners of the holiday let were very friendly and hospitable to us during our 6 week stay. We would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

Fantastic location, fantastic accommodation.. Great views from the large window facing the fields and wildlife, keep an eye out for the owls that sit and sing on the electricity poles on an evening. Beautiful sunsets. it really is a lovely place to stay. Village is nice with a good pub and excellent fish and chips from the local shop, also only 10 minutes from Plymouth city center. Good location for visiting the area, Dartmouth and Salcombe a must see. Last but not least lovely friendly hosts who make you very welcome......5***** holiday. Thanks.

A brilliant location for the South West Coast Path, we walked sections of it every day from Plymouth to Brixham.. We also had several walks on our doorstep, the Estuary walk from the cottage is a must. There is a bus from the location to Plymouth. Wembury, Salcombe & Bigbury and Brixham are all within easy driving distance. This location has a lot to offer, we had a great week.

The cottage is a 1st floor apartment in the grounds of a larger house. It is a lovely apartment, thoughtfully furnished and equipped. The village of Brixton is charming and a great centre for discovering South Devon, Plymouth, Dartmoor, Looe etc. We especially loved our visit to Saltram House and grounds [National Trust], just 20 minutes away by car and a wonderful Beryl Cook exhibition in the Plymouth Council House. The owners were great, welcoming and helpful. The nearest pub,10 minutes walk away, does very good food. We look forward to returning to Northlands and the area.
