Beautifully appointed cottage in a very rustic style.. We visited Cromford and we were near Kedleston Hall and other National Trust properties. Lovely walks into the woods towards the Midland Railway Centre. Susan, our local contact for the cottage, was extremely helpful. Dave, the owner, gave us great practical advice about the house before we arrived.

'Just a Cottage' is a really modest description of this home.. It had everything we could want, the usual extras that we brought were not needed. The cottage, really the old farmhouse, we believe, had been beautifully renovated by the owner. (A charming man). Workmanship is first class throughout. Underfloor heating downstairs worked very well. The garden was very well cared for and a pleasure to sit in We had a very pleasant stay. The best cottage we have ever rented.

This property is beautiful.. The cottage is in a lovely position and has the very feel of a home more than a rental cottage. The owners and caretaker are lovely people and very helpful. The welcome pack is a nice thought, we didn’t want for anything. We rented the cottage for a family gathering as we are all in different parts of the country and we had a great family weekend including our border collie who was right at home with the walks from the back door. My only suggestion is that a black dustbin is needed for general rubbish by the recycling facilities as I was worried about leaving a black bag outside with the cottage being in the countryside setting. This is the best cottage so far we have rented. Well done to everyone.

This was a lovely cottage to see in the New Year with friends.. Liked that the house was decorated festively with 2 lit trees and lights on the fire surrounds. The owner was there on arrival and on hand if we needed anything but not intrusive at all. Would definitely recommend.

A superbly equipped, warm and clean cottage.. Dave and Susan went out of their way to make our holiday ( five of us and a dog ) a success. The welcome pack was, well, very welcome ! We were blessed with glorious sunny weather - it helps ! - and we made the most of it with local and more distant walks the order of the day. This cottage is very conveniently situated, and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

Very sympathetically restored cottage with excellent attention to detail and a very high quality of finish.. Location convenient for exploring the surrounding area and the owner could not have been more helpful. We found it the perfect choice for a large family reunion weekend.

The cottage was beautifull clean and comfortable ,we had an issue with a broken shower head, phoned the lady and she came and sorted it same day.. Milk in the fridge on arrival ,which is always lovely so you can have a cuppa whilst deciding what to do with your day . WI-FI is a little weak but in fairness there was 5 of us all using at the same time , So not complaining .

The only thing that stopped the holiday cottage from being near-perfect for us was its proximity to a road that got quite busy at times.. As the garden of the cottage is not far from the road, this was a little disappointing. It wasn't as peaceful a location as we'd expected from the description, therefore. However, from inside the house, this wasn't a problem.

Just a Cottage was a perfect place for us to spend our holiday.. It was equipped with everything we needed and was spacious and well presented. The beds were very comfortable. The outside space was perfect for the summer weather and safe to allow the dogs to be out in the garden. We enjoyed the games, books and recommendations provided and found the owners to be very accommodating, willing to answer any questions and to help us out throughout our stay. This is a beautiful place to stay and was ideal for 6 of us with our dogs. The Peak District is very accessible and as well as enjoying more local walks and places to visit, we also travelled into the Peaks on most days. We would thoroughly recommend Just a Cottage as a wonderful place to spend your holiday.

I do feel that the photos on Sykes of Just a Cottage, do not do it justice.. We thought it looked lovely but on arrival we were more than pleased with the place. Surroundings were great and my grandchildren were very happy watching the sheep opposite the cottage, the horses in the other fields, which are all very children friendly. Walks are well worth it and the Swanwick railway museum staff went out of their way to accommodate all of us, some of the friendliest staff I have come across anywhere. Local pubs and restaurants are many and we found very reasonable in cost. Can,t speak highly enough of Dave and his colleagues who own the property. Thanks for a great weeks stay in your place. Jim

A great place for us all to meet up as a family as we live in different parts of the country.. Important to have the dog included too. Lovely local walks and a convenient base for exploring the Peak District. The owner and the manager could not have been more helpful. Thank you.

Really lovely, nicely decorated, spacious cottage with very comfortable beds.. Everything was very clean, tidy and the bed sheets smelled fresh. The owner and manager are both very nice and accommodating. They left us supplies and a box of chocolate biscuits for our arrival. The house is well equipped however it would benefit from a larger TV, DVD player and a washing machine. The TV is perfectly good it's just my eyes struggled with the guide. None of these things adversely effected our visit though. The cottage is not far from a few shops and only 20mins from the Peak District. Extremely good value for money
