Just come back from a most wonderful stay at Moorhay Barn located just on the edge of the peak district where we was able to go on many countryside walks, we also managed to visit Chatsworth house which was lovely and basically on the doorstep.
The Barn itself was incredible, the buildings open plan but cottage feel and oak beams was simply fantastic. It had an open fire that we used every night which created such a ambience along with all the quirks of the the cottage, they had a good selection of DVDs there to watch too which i thought was such a nice gesture, we watched 2 of them during our stay.
There was enough wood for the first nights fuel but then we had to pick some up for the other nights but we thought this would be the case as we've stayed at many cottages which all seem to do the same.
Whilst there i struggled to operate the shower, so I called for the owner via the phone number i acquired when booking on. He replied instantly and was round to show me how to work it before i put the phone down. The owner was a young lad around his late 20s i'd guess and was always around and ready to help if you needed anything.
If I had to make any complaint it would be that the track to the farm was a little bumpy, but I'm being picky there for the sake of a balanced review, it was no more bumpy than a lot of roads I've been on and is obviously adequate for the many campers and residents on the property, it didn't bother my stay and i will definitely be returning!
