Miramar Lodge Coastal Cottage Self-Catering

Holiday home
Eastfield Hall was once a splendid Victorian country house, and still boasts glorious views towards the sea. Miramar Lodge is one of a small number of lodges on the site, and offers light, airy and modern accommodation including three bedrooms, and an open plan living space with a vaulted ceiling with fitted kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge area. The conservatory affords beautiful views over open countryside to Warkworth Castle and Coquet Island, and is a wonderful space in which to relax after a day's exploring.

Best known for its castle, which was recently used as a location for Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter film series, Warkworth is a charming small village with a colourful history and an attractive 1200-year old church. The Percy Family, who also have a residence at Alnwick castle, acquired the castle in 1332. The village's main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses with a good selection of galleries, antique shops, gift shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants - a browsers paradise and an ideal way to while away your time in this pretty part of the world. Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall and Holy Island are all within striking distance and for those who can't bear to be away from the fairway, there's a nine-hole golf course.

Northumberland is a headycombination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Oil central heating. Electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD/CD player, radio, Pioneer AV stereo, hairdryers in all bedrooms. Self-Catering Reviews

Mr Mcphee
October 2020
We had a great time at this lovely cottage, it had everything we needed and more for our break.. It was spotless and had modern furnishings. It has peaceful surroundings and was a great base for exploring the area. Due to COVID, we didn’t go to any of the busy attractions nearby but still found plenty to do for the kids. We would highly recommend the 2 mile walk (or drive) to Warkworth where you’ll find some great pubs serving food and an amazing beach, we had a great stay!

We had a lovely week staying at the Miramar Lodge.. The owner was very helpful and gave us information before we arrived. The lodge was spotless for our arrival, the kitchen well equipped, there was plenty of outside space and good views across the countryside. It was centrally placed near to local attractions, the coast and for walking. An added bonus - on a clear night the skies are amazing.

Miramar Lodge is a truly fabulous base to explore Northumbria.. The Lodge itself has absolutely everything you could wish for. Everything has been thought about in a practical way. The lodge accommodates 6 people and There are twice as many plates, cutlery, mugs etc so you don’t have to be constantly washing once you’ve used them. There are ample pots, pans, bowls, jugs, kitchen equipment etc. There are even picnic plates etc and a flask. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher. It’s an absolute home from home. We have stayed here twice nice at different times of the year and have been thrilled both times. We would not hesitate to return.

We were first visitors after lockdown the lodge was immaculately clean all safeguards in place, it is in a beautiful countryside location , access to local footpaths lovely coastal walks nearby. It has 3 good size bedrooms, one with en suite, bright and airy living room, kitchen , diner. Lovely conservatory overlooking the well kept garden with tables and chairs. We were lucky to see the local hare twice on the garden who seems to be very tame. We will definitely be paying another visit

This is a wonderfully located and excellently appointed holiday home.. Lovely touches like afternoon tea on our arrival gave a personal touch from our hostess. Close to Alnwick, Cragside and of course Warkworth as well as a wide array of places to visit and great beaches. Would unreservedly recommend and hope to come back sometime.

The lodge was immaculately clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need and some very thoughtful touches, full sized toiletries and cleaning products, tea, coffee plenty of milk and even a cream tea on arrival ! We had an extremely comfortable and very cosy stay. The grounds were lovely and peaceful with excellent views, with plenty of things to do and see in the area. We have stayed in several holiday rentals and Mirimar Lodge is the best by far.. The owners could not be more welcoming and have equipped the lodge with everything and more you will need for your stay. The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings are all top quality, and lots of thought has been put into every aspect. During our stay the toaster stopped working and a new replacement was delivered within hours. The location is perfect with so much to do in the area, with this in mind there is lots of info inside the Lodge about local attractions. Fantastic, we will be back in the future.

Not surprised other reviewers have given a 5 star rating, all the positive comments are true. We stayed for a fishing week in June 14 and don't have anything bad to say about this place. The cottage was beautifully presented with everything thought of. It was lovely and quiet with amazing views from every window. From the minute we walked into the cottage we felt at home. The attractions on hand are numerous but we were never happier than when the sun warmed the conservatory and we sat with a coffee and book in hand. We will be back to this venue it was beautiful.

Not forgetting the lovely beach at Warkworth itself.

We have been visiting the area for almost twenty years to take part in the Great North Run and we decided several years ago to make a week's holiday out of it. We found Miramar Lodge, Eastfield Hall, about 6 years ago and have gone back there ever year since. The village of Warkworth is picturesque, the lodge itself is spacious, comfortable, well equipped with breathtaking views from every angle and it feels like home. The location is superb, quiet but suitable not only for young families but also for the older generation. The beaches in the area are outstanding and there are plenty of places to visit. The owners are friendly and very helpful

The cottage was extremely well appointed with lots of space for the quiet moments. The surrounding area was also very attractive with plenty of walks for those of a rambling nature. the location of the cottage was ideal for trips out, plus the nearby town of warkworth had the castle to visit, plus the riverside walk. The only downside was the gravel driveway leading to the cottage, which was very potholed

Having stayed in several cottages over the years, this was by far the cleanest and best presented. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into it and it pays off as I would use the accomodation again. It was nice to go back to after a days visiting to ageing relatives and similarly ancient castles!!! ( rather than just a place to eat and sleep)

This was an excellent holiday, could not fault the accomodation at all. Everything we would want to find in a holiday home was provided and the owner had gone to great lengths to produce a comprehensive guide to places of interest in the area. The accomodation is set in lovely surroundings and is completely safe for children to run around outside and play without fear of traffic speeding past. The owner has done a great job.
