Mint Cottage description

Holiday home
Mint Cottage is a traditional, stone-built cottage set in the coastal port of Findhorn on the Moray Firth coast. With three bedrooms including one super king-size double (which can be a twin on request), plus one standard double and one ground floor single with an additional pull-out stacker bed, this cottage can sleep up to six people. There's also a bathroom and a ground floor shower room, as well as a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburner. Outside, there is roadside parking available nearby, as well as unloading at the front of the property and a small front garden with furniture. Within just a few moment's walk you will find the harbour and all the village amenities, and set in a wonderful location, Mint Cottage is a perfect choice for your next Highland holiday.

Findhorn was at one time a very busy fishing port and preserves it connections with the sea today; much of the village life still revolves around the bay, due to sailing and watersports, as the village is home to the Royal Findhorn Sailing Club. Its scenic location, together with its gentle climate, due to the influence of the Gulf Stream, makes it a desirable destination. Findhorn boast two pubs, two cafes, an organic bakery and a village store.

Oil central heating with woodburner. Electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, Sonos music system, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Load/unloading outside cottage only, free roadside parking throughout the village. Enclosed front patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop, pub and harbour 3 mins walk. Beach 10 mins walk. Note: there is a Shared washing line at the end of the lane.

Second year running for us at Mint Cottage and it looks likely that a third will follow in 2017! Beautiful location; convenient for the whole of Findhorn. Great walks and peaceful!

We are regulars to Findhorn and know the area well, Mint cottage was on an excellent par with other cottages that we have stayed at in and around Findhorn. Once we got the cottage warm, as we arrived when it was 0 degrees, we soon settled down to a very comfortable stay, the beds were very comfortable, having two bathrooms was a bonus, the cottage was very well equipped and we enjoyed staying there. The Bakehouse Cafe gets better every year and stood up to its good reputation, and the local post office always has what you need, and the beach - well that's the reason we return every year.

We loved the peaceful nature of setting combined with the closeness of the village amenities, shop, cafe, bakery, pub/inn and just a couple of minutes walk from harbour and water's edge. Altogether a superb cottage and location. I would highly recommend Mint Cottage.

Our time in Mint Cottage was magical. A real slice of comfort, peace and tranquility in Findhorn Scotland. It was spacious, lovely and comfortable with every amenitie. A stones throw from the beach, and beautiful pub restaurants. I am already trying to plan my next stay. Even the neighbors were wonderful! Five star all the way

Mint Cottage is a lovely little cottage, that's been beautifully decorated, and has everything a young family might need. The property is set in a wonderful location, just minutes from Findhorn Bay, with a local shop less than 50 meters away for all your essentials. It makes an ideal base for both the Highlands and the beautiful Speyside region, with all it's great distilleries and coastal walks. The cottage is exceptionally clean, with lovely fresh towels in plentiful supply, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. In the evening, the log burning real fire greats a very cosy atmosphere. All of the family, including the two small children, loved it and felt very safe there. I couldn't recommend it more highly. (We forgot to ask about the security deposit but trust absolutely that it will be returned promptly.)

We had high hopes as we rent cottages a amounts to a tiny space at the front so don't bring a ball or rackets. Cottage was tired and could have been cleaner. Freezer was full of someone else's food...we had driven a distance so no room for ours. Boiler cupboard was a disgrace and a fire hazard with cardboard boxes stacked on top. Have mentioned to owner that her standards are low and this was not received with good grace. All in all it seemed like someone had just moved out and it wasn't prepared for guests at all. Kay Fox

Just a brilliant place to explore the local areas of nairn, inverness, elgin, forres atc.. ... superb spacious, clean and well equipped cottage next to a wee shop. one tiny issue was with local parking so a fair bit of walking with shopping bags on first day. couldn't fault it other than that. would come again in a heartbeat.

A beautiful homely cottage.. Well equipped and full of character. Amazing spot and wonderful folks. Findhorn beach is stunning. Beautiful walks and tranquil spots. Miles of sand to walk and no crowds and sometimes miles of beach with no humans!! Peaceful. Boat trips amazing. Porpoises and their young. Dolphins. Sea birds. Wonderful eating places. Home bakery in village is absolutely wonderful place to eat. A place to embrace and totally relax in. A gem of a place in every way.

We arrived in Findhorn on 13th July 2018 & were greeted with a bottle of wine & some shortbread which was a nice touch.. The cottage was much larger than I expected; was excellently presented & was a superb location for our holiday. Mint Cottage was well equipped if people wished to stay in & cook meals. Everyone in Findhorn was very friendly & helpful especially at the local store; bakehouse for early morning bread & our neighbour opposite. There are two excellent pubs for food & Findhorn has an amazing beach with miles of sand in all directions.

Many welcoming touches on arrival - fresh flowers, bottle of wine, crisps and well stocked cupboards.. Stair (access to both double bedrooms) is steep with shallow steps so care is required.

Mint Cottage, in the scenic village of Findhorn, has just provided us with a great holiday.. The cottage is clean, comfortable, very well equipped and provided more than we required for our stay. Whilst maintaining some original features, Mint Cottage has been modernised to a very high standard. Neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful. We were blessed with glorious sunshine most days, which started with a coffee outdoors in the compact, but sheltered seating area. Then we would head towards the dunes. Despite the cold sea breeze, the dunes provide excellent shelter and seclusion for the peace and tranquility we sought. The village of Findhorn is a pretty little place, with it's sheltered Findhorn Bay, dotted with sailing boats and pleasure crafts. Kayaks and other water sports are available for hire and with a cafe on site there is ample provision for a good day out. To the other side of the bay, is the vast shoreline providing stone shore and sandy beach (when the tide is out), which stretches for miles.

Our time in Mint Cottage was absolutely amazing.. The cottage was exquisite. Homey, comfortable, spacious, there was every amenities provided. The location is perfect. So beautiful and peaceful. Even the neighbors made us feel welcome. Two wonderful pub restaurants just a few steps away and a stones throw from the beach. We were very sad to end our stay to go home. Will DEFINATELY book this cottage again.
