We just love Min y Mor holiday cottage - it's very quirky and contemporary, with a calm atmosphere. This Grade II Listed cottage was the home of the artist Sir Kyffin Williams, whose studio was beside the house. Now completely refurbished by its new incumbent artist, Sophie Keir, it is a peaceful, relaxing sanctuary. "What a spectacular location, once the home of Sir Kyffin Williams, this is an absolutely fabulous holiday house, you could want for no more." Located on the south east corner of Anglesey, with the waters of the Menai Strait lapping in front of you, and the mountains of Snowdonia forming an impressive backdrop, this is an idyllic setting. It is also steeped in history. Looking down the Strait, you'll see a phenomenal feat of engineering - the tubular bridge built by Stephenson where the entrance is guarded by magnificent limestone lions, made by John Thomas, who also worked on the House of Commons and Buckingham Palace. In the distance is the splendid statue of Admiral Lord Nelson which was crafted by another Admiral - Admiral Clarence Paget. Enjoy sitting and watching the boats and the birds pass by. At night there is little light pollution so you can see the moon rising from behind the mountains. A truly magical spot.

Four bedrooms: 1 x king, 1 x double, 2 rooms with single daybeds (which can convert into doubles by prior request), Ground floor bathroom with shower, WC and handwash basin. Kitchen/dining room has table for up to 12 and a stove, Kitchen with range cooker (gas hob and electric oven) and a fridge, utility room houses an American larder fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and a sink, Sitting room with sofas and chairs, and an electric wood burning effect stove, iPod dock, CD player, TV with DVD player and BT Vision Broadband, Courtyard, Off road parking.

Area
Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
