We were very pleased with the apartment.. It was spacious, well equipped and very clean. There are lovely views from the apartment and Kirkby Lonsdale, although a small town, has plenty of places to eat and interesting shopping and is an interesting place to explore. All in all an excellent holiday home from home.

Lovely apartment within easy reach of all the many local facilities inc.. restaurants and pubs. Wonderful views over the river and hills beyond. Access is up a spiral staircase so not suitable for all but the property is well worth the “climb” Buses to Kendal and Lancaster and an easy drive to Windermere and the Lakes.

Beautifully located appartment with stunning views across the Lune.. Everything we needed was there, welcoming owner, clean and well furnished. Kirkby Lonsdale town is just on your doorstep with all its shops, pubs etc, but the appartment is a haven of peace set in a lovely garden. Could not be better ... we've asked if we can come back next year!

On arrival we were welcomed by the landlady with half a dozen free range eggs so that was a good start to the holiday.. Although she and her husband lived under the apartment they left us to our own devices but I am sure were there if we needed them. The apartment was clean and much larger than I was expecting and the views from the bedrooms and living room, outstanding. We were about 30miles SE of Windemere and most of the drive was dual carriageway so very easy to get to. Pubs and restaurants in town were many and welcoming and within easy walk from the apartment. I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the Lakes and N.Yorkshire Dales as a great base, comfortable, clean and very much like home away from home

The furniture was comfortable and period to suit the cottage and its surroundings in Kirkby Lonsdale, with brilliant views from the lounge window, some of the best we have seen.. All in all a thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable stay at Mill Brow. My wife and i are in our seventies and had no problems with the spiral staircase at all.We will return.

Kirkby Lonsdale is a joy for anyone who loves an England now sadly lost . A market town of considerable historical interest it sits on the edge of both the Yorkshire Dales and Lakeland national parks giving easy access to both. The wonderful city of Lancaster and sublime Morecambe Bay are but a few miles away. The jewel is the River Lune which gently flows through meadows green on its way to the sea. Both residents and visitors alike have a debt to the very active Kirkby Lonsdale Civic Society which opposes inappropriate development and provides information plaques on the any historical buildings and places of interest such as the beautiful Devils Bridge.Once upon a time and long ago Millbrow was home to old mills and factories and was the main route into town after crossing Devils Bridge indeed Millbrow Apartment served as a workhouse and the towns gaol but today's guests should fear not they will find two bedrooms bathroom kitchen dining room and a sitting room with a view of the river to enjoy. To be in the garden at the rear of the property generously shared by the owners is a joy at any time of the day but particularly in the morning as the sun comes up over the rim of the fell that rises up on the other side of the Lune.Owner Mrs Nicholson is a gracious lady a pleasure to talk with and a mine of local information.Nothing is to much trouble for her.A few hundred yards up the hill are 8 pubs (there used to be more than 20!) cafes a regular Thursday market and a newsagent that is open as early as 05:30.The apartment is presented immaculately clean and is comfortable with a good library and local mapping to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend without reservation.

Absolutely fantastic apartment right in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale, with parking for 2 cars.. This apartment had everything you could want form a holiday home. Every thing was provided in spacious rooms. The view from the lounge window over towards Ruskin's view is breath taking. Just a 2 minute stroll to the centre of the village where you will find numerous good shops, bars & restaurants. If anyone can find a better holiday let in a better setting, please let me know. I doubt there is one.

A very well appointed and comfortable apartment in the middle of Kirby Lonsdale.. The view from the sitting room window across the fields and distant fells is simply magical and is ever changing shades of green in the sunlight. It is an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales, the Howgills and the Lake District. The owner, Mrs Nicolson is extremely friendly and helpful. It is simply one of the best holiday apartments.

Three of us went up to Kirkby Lonsdale recently and spent a week in Mill Brow House. It was a little difficult to locate at first but once found in was simple. The access to the apartment is up a spiral metal staircase which we were told about at the time of booking. Our ages were from 66yrs to 75 yrs and we all managed getting in and out pretty well .(Dont think it would be safe for children.) Pat our "owner" made life so much easier by allowing us to come through her own entrance in order to get our suitcases up. She was a lovely lady. The apartment and the main house had magnificent views of the river and fells beyond. There were antiques at every turn and a modern kitchen and bathroom were just great. Very well kitted out. The beds were comfy too which is a must for me. The whole place was spotlessly clean and it was a pleasure to reside in such an historic house for the week. We found out from a neighbour that the house was once a workhouse. Lovely old pubs were all around us and Kirkby Lonsdale itself is well situated for visiting the surrounding towns and villages. Would definitely go there again. The beds even had electric blankets, now how is that for attention to detail. Thank you Pat. We enjoyed our stay and your company. The three Old Crocks. XX

The property is ideally placed for visiting the South Lakes area and Kirkby Lonsdale itself is a lovely town with a good selection of independent shops and eateries.. The only downside we found was the external spiral staircase to access the accommodation which could be a problem for anyone not entirely fit/mobile. The listing did fully describe this however so we were fully aware of this fact before arriving. This is the only thing that might put us off booking the apartment again.

Lovely apartment.. We felt our expectations were exceeded when we entered the apartment. Although the description was accurate it did not convey the spaciousness of the whole apartment. Large lounge with fantastic views. Large bathroom and two good sized bedrooms. Dining area a little small but did not in any way detract from the experience. Spiral staircase leading to the apartment is as described and easy enough to negotiate. Met the owner and some other people and everyone was so friendly. Very clean and comfortable. Spacious, fantastic views and parking in pretty much the centre of Kirkby. What more could you want. Extremely likely that we will go back.

We are active retirees and had no problems with access via the spiral staircase.. The owner lives below and was friendly and helpful without interfering. The apartment is well equipped, tastefully furnished and centrally located in a charming village. It has what has to be one of the best views of rural England from the lounge room window. We were most satisfied with the whole experience and would definitely return to the property if we visit the area again.
