This is a quaint cosy cottage and would be ideal for adults seeking peace & solitude. There is no ambient noise apart from the sound of birds and the wind and it is really lovely first thing in the morning. The rooms are as presented but we were a family of four and I would find it challenging with a bigger party in the house. The "first floor mezzanine area" is part of one of the bedrooms and the location of an additional mattress - you could not use it for any other purpose. The description detailed in the ad is not quite we experienced in our recent week stay. The house is a good 15 minute drive outside the town of Creeslough. The first part of the drive is on the main road then it turns into a secondary road which is extremely narrow but very scenic. However the last part of the drive is literally up a grass track on the side of a hill. The house is remote and accessing it for a nervous driver or at night can be challenging. There is no TV or bath included - contrary to amenities listed on the ad. The lack of a TV was an issue for our 2 teenagers given the location, lack of Wifi and current position with Covid which resulted in us being in the house quite a bit at night. We did contact the owner to ask about a TV and she provided some old board games but luckily enough we had a few of our own with us. Also although the house is "pet friendly" there is a working farm in the field beside the house and men were accessing the filed constantly through a gate on this property. We were afraid to let the dog out for fear of him wandering into the field.

We're just back from a wonderful staycation at Micks cottage. The cottage was so cosy and warm with everything you need in it! Our hosts were more than helpful and even had a fire lit for us on arrival! The cottage is set in a rural area which we loved yet all attractions less than 10 mins drive away! The cottage is a field away from the historical cottage belonging to Norman Bawn! Marble hill beach, dunfanaghy, ards forest park, carrigart boardwalk and glenveagh cast all a short drive away. We would definitely return as we loved it!
