Mermaid cottage is a lovely little end of terrace house in a beautiful location.. Directly opposite the Newlyn Art Gallery and with a stunning view of Mounts Bay and St Michaels Mount, it had every comfort one could possibly need while on holiday.
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked, the sitting room was very comfortable and cosy. The mermaid and sea scape paintings and other quirky artefacts added to the charm of this property.
Two things, however, let it down. The lack of WiFi, which in this day and age is odd as most places offer this as a basic necessity. We tried the art gallery password (which I think is a bit cheeky) but it didn’t work I’m afraid. So my sister and I had to use our mobiles which proved expensive. This really does need addressing I think.
Also, the property could really do with a lick of pain to brighten the place up. Especially the stairs and hallway where the dark wood detracts from the seaside theme, and that is a great shame.
Other than that, we had a fabulous holiday at Mermaid Cottage and we wouldn’t hesitate in coming back.
