The cottage was perfect in every way, a lovely home from home.. Had all the facilities you need self catering with a family. Beds were amazingly comfy and the garden fantastic! I would definitely recommend May’s cottage to f&f. However, I felt the staff at Sykes office were extremely unhelpful once i’d booked. This week was a very special occasion for my family and I was unable to include some family as Sykes were completely disinterested in helping me change the booking or recommended an extra property close to may’s cottage. I won’t be using Sykes again.

We had such a lovely time at May’s Cottage.. The home has everything you could need and is a great size. It is close to both Padstow and Rock (about an hours walk into Padstow) and is very dog friendly. We had a welcome hamper on arrival and everything was detailed out in the house booklet. The perfect holiday home and we’ll definitely be back! Thank you!

This was our second visit to Mays cottage and it was just as lovely as the first time! The whole lay out of the cottage really suited us and having 3 bathrooms is definitely a plus. We loved sitting in the conservatory for our meals, it seemed to be sunny in there all day long! On a couple of the cooler evenings we enjoyed sitting in the very cosy sitting room. Location wise was great too, close to all the good beaches and Padstow and there's even a good bus service into Padstow for bored teenagers. The camel trail was reasonably close to cycle too, albeit a bit hilly getting there! We will definitely be back.

Would highly recommend May’s Cottage with respect to location, the facilities and overall beautiful property that it is.. However, it wasn’t quite as clean as previous properties we have stayed at but perhaps we are just a bit too fussy! Thanks for a great holiday and see you next year.

A very well equipped cottage in a peaceful location.. Excellent position to reach Padstow and the beautiful beaches to the west, Rock and Trebetherick plus the Camel Trail - all within a few minutes. So many excellent eateries! A footpath map around the village for short dog walks would be beneficial. Continental weather for the whole week was an added bonus.

We very much enjoyed May's cottage and our holiday there, but having stayed in Helpful Holidays cottages of 4 star rating over the last 25 years or so, we don't think that it's a 5 star property, probably 4, although it's not as immaculate or well equipped (particularly the kitchen) as, for example, Charlton Lodge (S42) where we've stayed 4 times.. I suppose it inevitably suffers somewhat from being looked after by a paid caretaker rather than the owners, the cleaning being superficial rather than thorough. The landing light ( lacking any shades !) was festooned with cobwebs as was the recess of the window on the stairs. We were unable to find any of the additional black bin liners referred to for rubbish disposal, but perhaps most unpleasantly, on our first morning, I found that, on using the double room en suite shower, the tray filled to the brim with water which didn't drain away until I'd removed a large mass of hair from under the drain cover. My wife and son also found hairs in the other shower and the bath downstairs. The bedroom with 4 bunks is very basic, rather tatty, and needs redecorating. Shame.

Yet again Mays Cottage was delight to walk into and then spend the week there.. If I could buy this cottage I would. It is so welcoming and warm. Having the log fire on every evening just finished the days off perfectly.
