Holiday home
Matlock Green is a detached ground floor cottage in the Peak District town of Matlock. The cottage has one double bedroom and one twin room as well as a family bathroom, making it suitable for four people. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a conservatory. Outside the cottage is off road parking for three cars and a garden with a patio and outdoor furniture. Perfect for discovering the Peak District, yet within easy reach of the town centre, Matlock Green is a lovely family holiday cottage.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with gas coal-effect fire. Conservatory.

Area
The Peak District town of Matlock was developed in the late 17th century. Matlock offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a host of attractions. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Superb facilities in the bungalow, everything you could possibly need for a break away, there is a local pub just round the corner which is excellent, and it is dog friendly too.. Town is a short walk away with local shops for all your needs..

This is the 5th stay at this lovely Bungalow.. Lt is only a 5 minute walk from Matlock aTown with its good selection of shops.The car can be left in a secure car park adjacent to the Bungalow.The Bungalow itself is large and well kept with a beautiful garden that is Dog friendly.The owner Mr Fox is very friendly and approachable.l would recommend this cottage as Dog friendly to anyone.A big thank you to Mr Fox and his Team J Smith from Nottingham

It is a great space to stay with easy access to many attractions e went to Blackwell Christmas market, Mansfield shopping outlet and the a nice garden centre as Ikea on the way home..

A very comfortable, well-equipped cottage in the heart of Matlock.. Very good centre for exploring the Peak District. Lots of space for the dog in both the house and the garden and the local park is very useful for a quick walk. Our second time here and we would recommend it. Only difficulty is the very narrow alleyway you have to drive down to get to it and the rather tricky exit onto the main road.

Everything was perfect for us.. It's our 2nd visit this year, and have booked again for next year. Bungalow is beyond beautiful! Everything you need, clean, and very spacious. The garden was great for our dog. Location really good! Really peaceful, we didn't want to come home. Highly recommend.

We had a fabulous week in this property.. It is a real home from home. The garden is lovely with lots of room for our dogs to have a good play in. I liked that you are in a quite lane but are really close to the local town & pubs. There are plenty of lovely walks around Matlock, some that start from the bungalow. The owner, Mr Fox was really helpful, the places he recommended to visit were brilliant & dog friendly too. I would definitely recommend this holiday home to stay in.

Once you've mastered getting in and out by car everything is great.. Well equipped comfortable cottage. Lots to do locally. Food in the indian restaurant and in Middleton stone museum excellent. The textile mills have very good guides. Canal trip at Cromford is good fun.

After a slight key problem on arrival, Sykes very quickly and efficiently solved the problem for us.. The bungalow is just perfect, everything we could possibly need, fantastic garden if you have a dog and also a lovely park just over the road. We would certainly recommend this bungalow and Sykes to family and friends.

Very well equipped and spacious bungalow.. large rooms comfortable beds and a great shower. Well situated to visit all important parts of the Peak District. The owner was very friendly and informative when I rang him for key collection details/code One very small point: the directions in your e-mail mentioned turning near a Total garage: this is now an ESSO garage. The turning off the A615 is a bit of a challenge, I would not like to attempt it in the dark, but I was quite proficient by the end of the week!

ideal location 2 minute walk to pub (pet friendly ) 10 minute walk to matlock centre and short walk to park loaded with children activities plus boating lake.the bungalow itself was well worth money with big enclosed garden for dog to run around ( dont forget to clean up after it, ) if you like walking further afield theres an old mill with a pretty waterfall near by, or drive there in 10 minutes. will pay another visit no problem.

We would certainly return to the bungalow.. We were disappointed re the lack of Wi-Fi. Surprised that there was no iron [though an ironing board], nor a cafetiere. Otherwise we were very happy; a very good base for exploring Derbyshire

Excellent bungalow in the middle of everything for walking to, however the garden is very peaceful and large and our Jacks loved it.. Bungalow facilities very clean and spotless, new white goods. Cosy and comfortable lounge and reclining sofas. Entrance looks a bit tight on first approach however my husband easily got his Warrior L200 down it and turned it around in the driveway but better to approach from the Tansley side of road rather than the Matlock approach if you have a larger vehicle. Lots and lots of takeaways that deliver and the nearby Matlock Green Fish and Chip shop well worth a few visits. Didn't cook anything whilst we were there as too many choices of takeaways so no need. Definitely will return.

A clean and comfortable holiday home.. Ideally located for surrounding area. Large garden is a plus for anyone with children or dogs as it is completely enclosed. We would certainly like to go back there in the future.

This is a large well equipped bungalow, with a very large enclosed garden, which is great for dogs but that's where the good stuff ends I'm afraid ! We were met by an awful smell when we walked in, even though all the windows were open. The kitchen sink, overflow and plug hole were filthy. The grey washing up bowl was brown with dirt and grime and the draining board and pot rack was slimy with black mould and dirt. I had to go and buy bleach to clean up before anything else. The microwave smelt of fish. All the carpets were really dirty with big dirty stained areas throughout and the flooring to the kitchen was really mucky. The kitchen drain smelt disgusting when the dishwasher was on or water running into sink. The cream leather furniture in the lounge was dirty. The wicker conservatory furniture was held together with tape and didn't have any cushions to sit on, making it impossible to sit on comfortably. The bedrooms smelt damp and fusty, especially the twin room. The pillows were hard and flat as were the duvets. Bed springs can be felt through the mattresses. Bathroom floor around toilet dirty. Plug hole and overflow filthy in bath. No curtains at bathroom window. Don't use the vacuum cleaning as it smells like dog poo!! The worse thing I have ever smelt. Complained to owner, as its just not worth the £505 paid for a week ! .. But he wasn't at all interested. Terrible place and not recommended. Came home on Thursday morning instead of Saturday, as couldn't stand it any longer.

It was great accoomodation with a beautiful garden and ideally poditioned for visiting the area.. Only a few minor things and that is the carpet in the lounge and hallway was stained in a few places and for us Wifi would have been useful. Neither of those issues will stop us from returning though

Our third visit, we found everything in place for a lovely self-catering stay.. Unfortunately, the changeover person had failed to provide any towels for the third person (we had booked for occupancy by three people); otherwise, we were very satisfied.

Our party consisted of mother, 92 and the kids, 68 and 58 and a very large dog who made himself at home immediately. The bungalow was very spacious. Fitted out to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog or for children to play safely in. It is located only a very short walk to the park,town and shopping. Matlock is situated in an excellent position for exploring Derbyshire. Bakewell and Chatsworth are a must. The access to the lane the bungalow is obscure and tight. Care needs taking turning in and out onto the busy main road. Once at property parking and turning for cars good and despite proximity to main road it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The garden was very spacious but could be awkward for anyone with disabilities. There are a few little steps to different levels and pathways narrow though Mum managed well taking care. Wheelchair access would be difficult into the property. Had a lovely stay, wish it had been for longer. Will definitely go again and have already recommended the bungalow to my friends.

We spent our 23rd wedding anniversary in this bungalow - the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. There was nothing we could find fault with. Bright, spacious, beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Lovely garden to walk around. Plenty of books, games, DVD's and videos for all ages. All age groups very well catered for. Beautiful bedding and towels. Lovely clean (non chipped) crockery and glasses. Excellent holiday accommodation and we would definitely stay again..

Excellent bungalow with everything you need very spacious. Large enclosed garden we took our 2 dogs a German Shepherd and Spaniel x Lab and they loved it. Near to shops and lovely park. Easy parking. Only negative point was the exit out of the lane onto main road very dangerous turning.

The bungalow is very spacious, comfortable and well fitted out. We were pleasantly surprised by the space in the property and the well equipped kitchen. There is a very large enclosed garden which our dog Rifle loved and a conservatory for when the evenings were not so warm. Located a few minutes walk from shops, parks and pubs it was ideally placed. It was easy to set off from this location on to public footpaths for some beautiful walks. A lovely holiday.
