Mr Magnall
April 2019
The location was ideal for us, directions and access instructions were spot on, the owners, Sue & Martin were on hand for any questions we may have had, the surrounding countryside was beautiful, and easy access to many local villages, Ripon, Masham, and more..

This is a great place to stay because it is located amidst some of the loveable towns of North Yorkshire .. The return to the cottage is so relaxing and generally quiet apart from the noise of farm machinery, You don't get countryside like this without The drive from our home was pleasant the A1 is the best route and now carries less traffic. To the cottage the owners were very easy to help in any way or advice. The only thing we didn't like was the TV wall location but everything else was fine including the weather A & E Rose

Wonderful holiday break at Markington Grange.. situated between Harrogate and Ripon, excellent base for visiting nearby towns including Knaresborough, Thirsk and York. Set in an area of stunning natural beauty. The accomodation is excellent. Clean and bright. Plenty of space for parking. Rooms are good size and spotlessly clean. Good WiFi signal, but telephone signal not great inside the cottage. Unexpected 'Welcome Pack' including bread and wine. Very happy to recommend and looking forward to returning, probably next year.

We spent six nights in this delightful cottage in June and found it extremely well equipped.. The location was perfect for us to explore the region. On arrival we were impressed that bread, milk, jam, fruit and a bottle of wine were awaiting us. Would highly recommend the Cottage for guests who prefer to stay outside of cities.

We received a warm welcome from our hosts and much appreciated their thoughtful gifts so that we were equipped for breakfast on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Griffin were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The cottage was clean, very comfortable, well equipped and well situated for us explorying the area, which was fairly new to us. We were blessed with wonderful weather and the cottage remained comfortably cool for us. I particlularly enjoyed the private patio to enjoy the early morning and late afternoon sunshine.

This is the very best cottage that we have used.. The weather was terrible ( one sunny day in seven! ) But we did not mind as the cottage more than made up for the weather.

Basically we were ill and left on the Wednesday morning.. This had nothing to do with the holiday let which was lovely, however it did have to do with a viral infection we had picked up earlier.

This cottage was easy to find off the main road, is very comfortable with everything we require. Everything on one level so ideal for anyone with mobility problems. Friendly owners who left wine, butter, bread & milk in the cottage for us & recommended a lovely pub for my birthday meal. The cottage is well placed to visit places like Ripon, Harrogate, York & Skipton. Also on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales & very close to Fountains Abbey and other NT properties. Would certainly like to return. Thank you!

This is without doubt one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. The property is immaculate and very cleverly designed for comfortable living. In a very quiet location in a small village, yet close to all facilities. Couldn't get a better base from which to explore the magnificent Yorkshire countryside.
Mr Finney
March 2015
We love the tranquil setting and being close to a quiet, pretty village with its shop/post office, pubs and old church. A pleasant walk down the lane to the main road (approx 15 mins) with its lovely scenery takes you to a frequent and reliable bus service to Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds and runs late in the evening - a path goes all the way down so you can walk in safety but at night take a torch! The cottage is clean cosy and warm, great to get in after a day's walking in the cold or rain. The owners live next door and are friendly and helpful but they never invade your privacy. Good parking space, too. Can recommend.
Mr Keetley
November 2014

The accommodation is perfect for a short stay, close enough to the attractions in the area and secluded enough for peace and tranquillity. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We had a perfect stay.
