A delightful holiday cottage that was very well equipped, other than a hand towel for the kitchen and hand-wash in the bathroom everything else was provided.. There were distant views of the lake from the enclosed garden, it was lovely weather on a couple of days, so had breakfast outside and it was delightful watching the birds on the feeders.
The cottage was ideally situated for exploring, the pretty village of Coniston is within walking distance, as is the lake.
Ambleside, Kendal, Ulverston and Windermere are within easy reach by car, Hawkshead is also worth a visit, as is Tarn Hows, try and park in the Glen Mary carpark on the A593 and take in the sites of the waterfalls before you get to the beautiful lake.
Climbing The Old Man of Coniston was a definite highlight, it was tough going in places and unfortunately it was very cloudy, so no views from the top, but lots to photo on the way up.
All in all a lovely cottage that I would definitely recommend.
