Long Acres Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Long Acres is a comfortable Lincolnshire cottage set in a quiet rural position on the outskirts of Old Leake village. This well equipped detached modern bungalow offers accommodation with modern furnishings and fittings including a cosy sitting room, two relaxing bedrooms, and a well proportioned fitted kitchen with dining area and patio doors opening out onto a large conservatory with comfy sofas. There is also an enclosed garden with lawn and shrubs and a gravel patio area with table and chairs. Long Acres occupies a fine location ideally located for accessing the coast and surrounding area.

The peaceful South Lincolnshire village of Old Leake sits in attractive countryside and offers a shop, three pubs, a Post Office, sports field and a children's playground. The village nestles on the edge of the Fens and its bulb fields and windmill sails have earned it the name of the 'Holland of England' - Trader Windmill, a working mill now run by English Heritage, can be seen four miles away in Sibsey. The market town of Spilsby is nine miles away, and here visitors can find a good selection of shops, restaurants and inns. The wonderful coastline, Fens and rolling hills of the Wolds offer walking and cycling opportunities. Many attractions and interesting destinations can be accessed from Old Leake, including the former WWII airfield at East Kirkby which is now an Aviation Heritage centre; the bustling market town of Boston; the seaside resort of Skegness and the antique lover's paradise of Horncastle.

From rolling countryside to historic cathedral cities and traditional seaside resorts, Lincolnshire offers a peaceful alternative to the discerning holidaymaker.

The place was a perfect base to explore the area. It was extremely well cared for. The owners were friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. The 'welcome' Easter egg was a lovely touch. The accommodation is excellent; it looks small from the outside but is exceptionally spacious inside. Great conservatory. The plus for us was that we were able to bring our dogs and the site is adults only, hence peaceful!
Mrs Campbell

The accommodation was absolutely faultless and owners extremely helpful. We had a very comfortable week and would love to have stayed longer. There are so many good eating places nearby and lots to see. We travelled as far as East Kirkby Aviation Centre and RAF Coningsby. We were fortunate enough to see so many daffodils in full bloom everywhere. Thoroughly recommend.
Mrs Kay

The owners bent over backwards to make us very welcome. We had a lovely week, the accommodation was superb. We have sometimes found the mattresses and sofa not very comfortable but this certainly was not the case at Long Acres. Very secure garden and our dogs especially enjoyed the park.

The welcome by the owners was very nice and friendly. The bungalow was very homely, I would love to go again. There were plenty of towns and countryside to access from where the bungalow is situated. Myself, daughter, granddaughter and dog had a great time and would recommend going for a visit.

I really liked the bungalow. Plenty of room and nice and warm. The area was quiet and peaceful and I could relax. I managed to do some walking and local sight-seeing. The owners were very nice. Boston has a lot of things going on and I managed to visit Lincoln and Skegness. I came to get away from everything for a few weeks and enjoyed the experience.

September 2009
The cottage is very spacious for a bungalow, with a large conservatory. You could enjoy the 'hustle and bustle' of Skegness a few miles up the coast. Some nice quiet beaches with toilets and free parking!

The owners were very friendly. Property is ideal for getting away from it all but close enough to get to the tourist areas. Everything excellent!
Mr Hart
August 2009
The property was very well situated for all the attractions that we wanted to see. The nearest shops are some 2-3 miles away, this gave me a good excuse to cycle to get newspapers instead of a 5 minute drive in the car.
January 2014
We have at least 3 holidays each year with our two dogs and always rent cottages. This is amongst the best. Warm, clean, modern, fabulous conservatory too. Weather wasn't that good, so having somewhere like this to return to was brilliant. Highly recommend.

Our hosts were very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful, Will definitely recommend this lovely cottage to anyone who likes peace and quiet, but near enough to all airforce museums, country houses and quaint villages, but still close to main towns . Thanks a lot for a beautiful holiday. .

Mrs Pearce
October 2018
On arrival the owner met us with the keys and advised if there was any problems at all not to hesitate to contact them, otherwise to enjoy our stay.. On entering the property it was nice and warm as we arrived on the coldest day of October. Having had a quick look around the property was exactly as the photo's showed on the website and it was spotless, it was really roomy and the conservatory even had radiators which meant we could sit in there so we stuck all our daughters toys in it and let it be her play room for the week which was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to put a meal together without struggling for anything. The garden was enclosed and secure and the drive even had a gate which we shut every time we came back just in case our daughter did get out so she couldn't get out of the grounds of the bungalow which gave us peace of mind. If you were thinking of booking don't hesitate you won't be disappointed.
Mrs Sinfield
September 2018

The reason that we would not return to this cottage is that it is a bit remote and we have now seen everything we wanted to see in that area.. For all that, an excellent holiday cottage and our neighbours are already thinking of book next year.
Miss Boast
