We stayed in this "picture perfect" cottage in May 2021 and I am sorry that I have only just got around to writing a review. The cottage is exactly as described and photographed and immaculately presented. We were made most welcome by our host who lives less than fifty meters away. Parking is easy and right outside the cottage. There is no dedicated space but not once during our week did we have any problem parking. The cottage is within walking distance of all village amenities. Although only the two of us, we loved having two bathrooms, especially as my wife prefers a bath whilst I favour a shower. We were also able to use the single room as an overflow wardrobe and "baggage room". The kitchen is well equipped and very well thought out - as is the utility room. A big bonus was the private garden. Overlooked by no one and well maintained. Too often we have taken rentals based on the pictures of beautifully maintained gardens only to find that the reality is much different. All in all a great week. A very good location for exploring Dorset. A charming village (the New Inn is a delight) and a 5 star rental. I do feel that we shall return and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it.

This is a wonderful holiday cottage! Looks beautiful from the outside and doesn't disappoint inside with everything you need provided. There was a welcome tray and a pint of milk to make a cuppa and have a biscuit when we arrived and some lovely flowers. Very comfortable and well equipped, there were three of us and we had plenty of room. There is also a lovely private garden with sun loungers provided and you can park easily right outside which in a village like Cerne is a massive bonus! The Owner is lovely and very helpful and provides lots of info on where to go, where to eat etc as well as all the usual instructions to make your stay enjoyable. The location is excellent being within easy reach of Dorchester, Sherborne and Weymouth. The Jurassic Coast is also close at hand. The village itself is your quintessential English Village with three pubs and an excellent tea room and there are plenty of walks to be had from the doorstep.. Highly recommended!

Lovely thatched cottage with good high ceilings downstairs at least. Perfect for 2 looking for a quiet walking break, with a choice of 3 pubs and a tea shop within a couple of hundred yards. Sophie lives 2 doors away and was very helpful before and during our stay. Just what we wanted.

Little Thatch was a perfect cottage.. There were many extra touches like coffee, tea , bubble bath and dishwasher and laundry products available. Cerne Abbas has a very good village shop and three pubs, what more could you want! The cottage was super clean and does not allow pets so there were no nasty smells, stains or pet hair on the furniture or bedding that we have experienced in other cottages.

We loved this little cottage, and the village of Cerne Abbas.. A central spot for exploring Dorset, and all the local offerings. The cottage was very well fitted out, and a real bonus was having both a bathroom and a shower room. Would recommend Little Thatch to everyone, and the bonus of an excellent village shop can't be underestimated!

Comfortable, quiet, charming cottage. All mod cons, wonderfully comfortable bed in the master and efficient heating. Sophie the owner had left staples such as milk, tea and coffee etc. with treats such as posh bisciuts! A nice touch were the orchid plants in the lounge and upstairs bathroom. Cerne Abbas is a beautiful village with pubs, a well stocked shop and a great tearoom, the village is also an excellent base for touring beautiful Dorset. Would return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Thatched cottage in a very friendly picturesque Dorset village. Very cosy traditional cottage but with all modern mod cons. We really enjoyed our week in Little Thatch in Cerne Abbas, Dorset in August.. The cottage facilities exceeded all our expectations. It was beautifully restored and all facilities were of a very high standard - from bedding & comfortable beds to thick towels, and quality kitchen equipment. The hosts were welcoming and there was the added bonus of having the village round the corner with friendly shopkeepers and welcoming pubs (in two of which we sampled delicious food). We would not hesitate to stay in this cottage again.

This was our third visit to this cottage, it is still the cleanest and most well equipped we have visited over the last 40 years.. It is an advantage to have the housekeeper nearby in case of any problems. Another lovely holiday.

Little Thatch is a grade 2 listed thatched cottage in the village of Cerne Abbas in Dorset. The cottage is very well equipped and an excellent base for exploring West Dorset and beyond. It is kept very clean and the owners have kept it upgraded for their guests. There is a good village shop for essentials and 3 pubs, we tried The New Inn which had a good range of beers, wines and sprits and friendly proprietors. A great place for a relaxing break.

Cottage was beautiful.. Felt comfortable as soon as we walked through the door. Have stayed in a lot of cottages but this has to be one of the best. Easy access to a lot of different places. If we ever come back to Dorset I would definitely book Little Thatch again

We had a lovely time at Little Thatch but did find the bath plug upstairs did not work properly, or the cooker.. Both looked very good but were not user friendly. Other than that couldn't find fault. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful little village even though when we were there, there was plenty of snow. Would thoroughly recommend it once these minor faults are ironed out. The microwave however was excellent.

Upon opening the front door you are immediately in awe of the beautiful interior. State of the art utitliy and kitchen area. Cosy lounge with central heating throughout. There's a choice of bath etc (upstairs) and a shower room etc (downstairs). The cottage is only a few hundred yards from Cerne Abbas village which has a lovely cafe, general store/Post Office, craft/souvenir shop and 3 amazing pubs/restaurants. Excellent location for sightseeing Dorset (Weymouth, Poole etc.,). Highly recommended.

This beautiful cottage is a perfect base for discovering Dorset either walking the countryside or driving to the stunning villages and beaches. Everything you could possibly need on your holiday is here, including a lovely welcoming gift. The owners have thoughtfully equipped the cottage from the modern kitchen with dishwasher, the comfortable beds, the cosy lounge and the 2 lovely bathrooms to the lovely garden with sun loungers. Perfectly situated at the edge of Cerne Abbas, with 3 lovely pubs in the village, a lovely coffee shop (serving delicious breakfasts) and a beautiful church. A wonderful place in a wonderful part of the country.

Little thatch is a lovely cottage situated in a fantastic little village. The cottage was perfect for our family of 3 - with all the facilities and space for us and our baby that we needed. Cerne Abbas provided us with a great base for our holiday and we visited the 3 local pubs, local shop and park. We travelled easily to the coast and also enjoyed some fabulous walks around the area.

Exquisitely presented thatch cottage in one of the most picturesque villages in Dorset . Tiny and sunny terraced garden and parking right outside the cottage . Roses growing around the windows and so well appointed for a short or long stay . Nothing could be better for a Quintessential English holiday cottage in a charming village with country walks in beautiful unspoilt countryside . Highly recommended for couples especially .

A charming well appointed period cottage, which was beautifully clean and comfortable. The kitchen was the best equipped and laid we have come across in nearly 30 years of renting holiday cottages. Our host Sophie was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for her, with a minor issue with the shower fixed promptly and effectively. The village itself is well worth a visit with a number of excellent pubs, a ruined abbey as well as the infamous Cerne Man. The location is ideal for visiting local attractions such as Corfe Castle, the Swanage Railway, the Sherborne Castles, Max Gate and many others. Easy shopping in Dorchester 8 miles away. A great location and one to which we will return.

This is a lovely property, situated in the beautiful village of Cerne Abbas. It is ideally located for easy access to all the major tourist spots in Dorset. We were very impressed with the modern, up-to-date interior of this cottage - the kitchen was especially splendid with every 'mod-con' you could wish for. We had a wonderful stay and we would love to come back and take another holiday here at some stage in the future. Top marks!

We were the 1st people to rent Little Thatch and we were very impressed. Having rented many cottages over the past few years, this is in a league of its own. WOW factor from the moment you drive up to it. We would be more than happy to live there! Everything had been well planned for a rental and we enjoyed our time spent there. Will definitely go back as the cottage and the area are so lovely.
