I have nothing but praise for Sykes cottages as the girls in the office were helpful in every way.. Particularly as there were a few small issues with the property which were rectified as soon as I made them aware. I expected nothing less as I have booked with this company before and quite a few times when it was Lakeland cottage Holidays and they have always given a first class service. My criticisms are aimed at the owners of Latrigg House . 1..a two slice toaster is totally inadequate for a house that accommodates 10 people. ( this comment has been made several times about this property so I'm pleased that I took my own ) 2..There were not enough coat hangers in the two top bedrooms . 3..One of the first floor bedrooms didn't have a mirror or a chair. 4..None of the bedrooms had a chest of drawers which was a real nuisance and although the two top bedrooms had a stand with wire trays on which helped the other two had NOTHING. Although these things are small in themselves they do add up to making a property more comfortable.

Office staff very accommodating.. In first floor bathrooms, both bath stoppers require immediate attention.

Latrigg House was excellent, spotlessly clean with brilliant facilities, and a short walk from Keswick Town Centre.. We called to collect the keys about 2.45pm and we were told the house was ready, so we could go in earlier. I also had a phone call on Saturday to make sure everything was ok, so all in all, the service was fantastic as well as the accommodation. We had an amazing long weekend and would definitely book it again in the future, as well as recommending it to our friends and family. Thank you so much.

The house was very comfortable and welcoming.. Christmas decorations was a nice touch. All the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with excellant bathroom facilities. On the downside. We were expecting a garden which it stated it had but a front drive was not really acceptable for our 2 dogs. Also if I'm being picky I would say the kitchen table was a little tight to get around due to the huge island in the centre of the kitchen. Having said that it did not detract from our stay and latrigg house is a great house in a great spot.

We chose Lattrig House for a holiday with a group of friends because of the en-suite bathrooms and, the bedrooms and bathrooms were indeed clean and comfortable.. The kitchen was perfectly adequate, though I have to agree with other guests who have commented that there isn’t much room around the dining table. The lounge was also clean and cosy, but we felt would have benefitted from a coffee table in front of the sofa to put drinks on. I also agree with other guests that the outside space, which is great for parking , is not really a garden! On the whole, it is in a good location and is an attractive, clean and comfortable property which I would be happy to revisit.

Overall we were very happy with the holiday.. Any questions we had before setting out on the holiday were promptly and fully answered for us. A washing line would have facilitated the drying of non-tumble dry items. Not all the cooking pans were absolutely clean. Elsewhere the house was immaculate. The twin beds were each made up with doubled-over double duvets - effectively at 2 x 10.5 tog each bed. Even in normal temperatures a 21 tog duvet would have been excessive. A stick-on blind on the Velux window at the top of the stairs on the second floor would have helped reduce heat and light.

Great property fab facilities we all loved it.. Confusion over provision of towels. Listing said there was and also there wasn’t. Couldn’t get answer when I called to check so took towels, one member of the party even bought one on the day but when we arrived towels were on the beds. Also television in Kingsize room had a blue light flashing in middle of night. Couldn’t find socket to switch off television.
