With views of the Purbeck Hills and dating back to the 18th century, this delightful holiday cottage is perfectly situated in a picturesque village in the heart of a popular walking and cycling area. Lovingly renovated in 2017, it s a wonderful getaway for a family or small group of friends. The cottage lies in the tranquil village of Langton Matravers, a traditional Purbeck village with a quaint pub, as well as a village shop and parish church, all less than 0.5 miles from the cottage. The historic village of Corfe Castle, with its picturesque thatched cottages, tea shops and famous castle is 4.5 miles away, and the spectacular World Heritage Site of the Jurassic Coast just 1.5 miles. The seaside resort of Swanage with its sandy beach is just 2.5 miles, while the hilltop village of Kingston is also 2.5 miles and Worth Matravers is less than 2 miles. Great day trips include the National Trust s Italianate country mansion Kingston Lacey, 22 miles, and the stunning RSPB nature reserve at Arne, 9.5 miles. This pretty cottage retains some original features, including exposed stonework and a Purbeck flagstone floor in the lounge. The light and spacious, open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is tastefully furnished, with plenty of comfy seating, a traditional wood burner, Smart TV, SkyTV and DVD, as well as a choice of books and games: an ideal space in which to relax at the end of a great day. There s a delightful dining area, and a stylishly designed kitchen which contains everything you ll need for preparing delicious meals and snacks. A washing machine is also provided, plus a useful drying area with hanging space for coats and boots. Stairs lead you up to the first floor, where you will find three lovely bedrooms, including a king size room decorated in restful, natural tones and with views over the garden. There s a second double bedroom, which boasts an original fireplace and views of the garden, and a single bedroom with views across the surrounding countryside. An additional single inflatable bed can be provided for up to two children in one of the larger rooms. Step down into the family shower room. Heading outside, you will find a pretty, south facing enclosed garden at the front of the property. A rustic flagstone patio adjoins the cottage, and features garden furniture and a BBQ so you can enjoy dining alfresco. Set into the patio is a transparent cover which looks down into the original well that used to supply the cottage with water, and where a couple of goldfish now make their home. You can admire the views of Swanage Bay from the garden, and across to the Isle of Wight on a clear day. Bikes and outdoor equipment can be stored in the garden shed. Please note that on the garden path there are changes in levels and uneven surfaces.
