Really enjoyed our week in this cottage, a great location for exploring Wicklow national park and general area.. We enjoyed hillwalking and had some lovely hikes from the cottage, no worry about parking or driving. Cottage very comfortable, warm, well equipped , had everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful owners, great advice and easy to contact. In Covid times, we felt very safe and enjoyed getting away from it all!

The owners were particularly helpful with useful local information - suggestions of places to visit, directions etc.. Lots of maps, tourist venue leaflets and restaurant menus in cottage - very useful. Perfect location and beautiful cottage, near enough to Dublin and remote enough to be peaceful - a very enjoyable holiday.

The ceiling in the bedrooms is very low and angled, tall people might find this uncomfortable.. We hit our head on the ceiling a few times.

The cottage itself was fine, but the beds were about a foot off of the floor, there was no way anyone of us could of got in or out of bed, so we did not stay there went to a travel lodge, owner was lovely about it even took us in a gave us a cup of tea, and then said we should phone sykes and get a refund which is what we did..

Very good renting.. Very nice and quiet place. Perfect for enjoying the countryside and hiking in the Wicklows. It is also possible to go to Dublin for the day. Renting close to Blessington where you can find shops, which is very convenient. The renting is not easy to find. Hint : the road that leads the rental follows a stream and there is the owner's house close to the rental.

The cottage was set in a beautiful location, host's went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.. Cottage was very clean and very comfortable, Tony was there on our arrival to welcome us, full of knowledge of the area and suggested places to visit. We had a fantastic time and will be returning next year.

Judging by reviews people are happy with this cottage but our experience was not so positive. The property description, written by Sykes/Hogans, omits details which, had we known them, would have meant that we would not have booked it. We raised this issue with Sykes but they have no plans to amend the description. The downstairs shower room/only wc is small, has no extractor fan and opens directly onto the small kitchen/dining area – very un-private and potentially unhygienic. The bedrooms have sloping ceilings. This is not such an issue in the larger bedroom but in the smaller bedroom, there is very little floor space and it is difficult to move around the room. The beds are very low, IKEA-type beds with very thin mattresses – because the rooms have limited headroom – and are difficult for those with limited mobility. As there are no facilities for clothes hanging or storage, suitcases have to be kept on the floor. There were a number of other problems with this property such as faulty appliances which were pointed out to the owners (very nice, reasonable people who dealt very fairly with us) which, I am sure, will have been remedied by now. If you are a couple or small family this cottage may be fine for you, especially given it is reasonably priced and the lack of self-catering accommodation in this area but in our view it is not suitable for 4 adults/2 couples as Sykes claims.

This is a nice cottage run by a very friendly couple.. It is in very attractive surroundings. However, it is quite remote and a drive of 15 minutes or so to the nearest town, Blessington. As regards the accommodation - the bedroom has a low sloping ceiling that can be awkward and the water heating system makes a periodic very loud rumble that can be heard everywhere in the cottage.

Cosy, warm, well-equipped, quiet... what more could you want? The cottage is perfectly situated near to the Wicklow Mountains and Blessington village with many amenities and the lovely Blessington Lake. The kitchen has everything you need and the underfloor heating means a warm home to come home to. The peat-burning stove is a lovely addition, but not necessary for warmth. Tony and Caroline are perfect hosts, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I loved it!

The owners were extremely friendly and the house was well stocked.. However, the slanted ceilings in the bedroom made it difficult to move around. Also, the fact that the one bathroom was located right off of the kitchen, was slightly inconvenient.

My 1st trip to Ireland was Oct 2015.. We stayed in this quaint little cottage and it was nothing short of amazing. Everything you could need was provided and the Tanseys were wonderful people and very helpful. The country is full of people who are very welcoming and the landscape it breathtaking!!! Have already booked another trip for Oct 2018. A few more people going this time, so we weren't able to get the Kylebeg again. :( But I'm sure it's in our future on another visit!!

Very Nice I booked this through Sykes Cottages and have to say it lived up to every bit of their description. Lovely cottage near Lacken on the east side of Blessington Lake. Very comfy and quiet – just what you need to relax on holiday. We never needed the wood burner as the under-floor heating keeps the rooms warm. Only downside were the cooking utensils’ but suspect they had been well used during the season. Expect a bit of a drive to places of interest as this is quite a remote location. The owners live close by and are very helpful and provide a wealth of local knowledge to help you get the best from your stay. I advise you get an ordinance survey map of the area as signage is not the best. Blessington has all the amenities you would expect from a small town with the addition of an Aldi and Supavalue. The Restaurants and Pubs offer meals to cater to all tastes and pockets. I do recommend the Wicklow Arms Hotel and the Bookshop Coffee shop. But to be honest we never had a poor meal in Blessington. Dublin is close by – If you want to visit I recommend you use one of the LUAS (Tram) park and rides on the N81 – 6.80 Euro for an adult day rover and 4.00 Euro per day parking. If you’re fishing, the permits will cost 15.00 Euro per week and you will need one for trout and a separate one for coarse fish. To be honest the fishing was a little poor with limited access down to the lake. Also be aware that we were warned that lakeside car parks suffer from quite a bit of theft at the weekends as you will see from all the broken window glass around. Just do not leave valuables in the car!! The Wicklow Mountains are well worth the visit and you will have a great holiday in this area.

I've stayed at several Hogan's cottages in Ireland over the years and never had a bad one, they've all been good, each one different in their own way. Kylebeg Cottage is certainly no exception, a wonderful base for me to go exploring far and wide, which is what I usually do in pursuit of my interest - Irish castles. However, on this occasion the locality also was just begging to be explored, and the Wicklow Mountains was a must on my itinerary and certainly they lived up to expectations, even in the rain! Anyway, I digress, the cottage didn't disappoint, very peaceful, very comfortable, everything one should need to hand, and with lots of wildlife to see (outdoors!). The friendliness of the owners Carolyn & Tony was a bonus - close at hand if required, without being at all intrusive. Thanks for a great holiday. PS. The key's in the post!!

Wow, what a stay! We booked this cottage to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin and we were rewarded! i have to say it was tough finding this cottage. I printed directions from Dublin airport to the cottage and that helped us to get to the vanity of the cottage but we were going around in circles. the locals helped a lot and it was very welcoming! an older gentleman on his morning walk gave us direction to the cottage with places of reference, because there are no street signs or names; he told us "welcome to Ireland" and we all laughed. Once we got there Tony welcomed us and let us know that the Cottage is occupied (were got there at 9am) but he took all our luggage and told us what is around there to try and have some good real food. We took Toni’s advice and visited a breakfast place "Avoca" which is like a Whole Foods here in the states. it was a very nice breakfast compared to the Aer Lingues food. He also let us know where to go shopping for a wifi device, which is a MUST if you are traveling to Ireland! We would be still in Ireland if we did not have navigation. We got back to the cottage around 3pm and it was clean and beautiful! The whole property was beautiful and right next door there was a sheep farm which was a hit with out one year old. The lake views from the road, which was perfect for morning and evening photograhs Tony and Caroline always came by to make sure everything is going well with out stay and give us recommendations on where to go next. It was a pleasure to stay in their cottage and we will definitely visit again!

We are just back from a fabulous week staying in Kylebeg cottage Wicklow. The owners Caroline and Tony could not be better hosts. We arrived to this gorgeous cottage and were greeted with beautiful home made scones and told about all the places of interest in Co Wicklow. Our two girls quickly made friends with Caroline and Tonys girls and miss them terribly. The cottage has everything you need and is in the most amazing setting. We woke every morning to this tranquil countryside feeling refreshed and ready to take on the days sight seeing. It is a five minute drive from the nearby town of Blessington which has every amenity you need. Another place worth visiting nearby is Russborough House just outside Blessington. It has a fabulous park, maze and cafe. We will definitely be back to Kylebeg Cottage.

This property is in the country but only half an hour away from the bright lights and old buildings of Dublin. Just follow the N81 main road to the tram park and ride sign and follow that to catch the tram straight in. Warm, friendly family welcome, even scones and jam. Just a very short drive from a large lake. Also a short drive into the Mountain National park which is stunning. Good shops just ten minutes away in Blessington. The property has a modern interior and kitchen but has the country character look on the outside. Great garden to wander in and watch the horse up in the fields.

An idyllic cottage in a rural scenic setting. Had a very warm welcome from the owners who made themselves available for local information. The cottage was so comfortable and the views stunning. We enjoyed the animals (ponies, cat, dogs, pigs and - most of all - the chickens who perched on our windowsills!). This was a perfect base for exploring the wonderful Wicklow scenery and sights. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Our stay at Kylebeg was just wonderful!! The owners allowed us our privacy, but were very helpful when needed. It was so great to tune out technology and just relax. We road tripped everyday so we didn't spend a great deal of time at the cottage in the day but we spent every evening there. So cozy and comfortable with modern conveniences- the perfect use of the space!! In a great rural location, within driving distances to some wonderful spots- would definitely stay here again!!
