Peaceful accommodation, lots of nearby facilities, beaches short drive away, small nice garden at the back of the cottage to sit out ( weather permitting. cannot fault the amenities everything was there one could wish for. All locals were friendly as were the staff at the Waterloo Arms ( pub few steps from the cottage), food was good and not too expensive. i would recommend the Curry night on a Wednesday @ £5 a head what more can one ask for. Last but not least the lovely Welcome pack and all the local information folder.

A 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ property in a fantastic location.. We had a wonderful long weekend here. The cottage is equipped with everything you could wish for. Parking was easy, just outside the front door. The local pub was fantastic, dog friendly & very welcoming. Such a friendly place. Loved walking around the local area & we would definitely return here to this property.

I've never used Sykes before, and will always use them now.. Despite booking last minute - literally - the Sykes customer services' advisors, Jamie and Charlie, couldn't have been more helpful. Brilliant service and everything was taken care of by them; Jamie kept me up to speed with the progress of the booking. Can't think why I didn't use Sykes before. Brilliant. The cottage was lovely; everything and more that was required. The owner was friendly and communicative. All in all, great service and great holiday. Thank you.

We had a lovely week in Kirkgate cottage, it was so warm and comfortable and felt very homely.. The extras left for us was a real treat, and all the information available made picking our outings easy, so much to do and such lovely walks, we were spoilt for choice and wish we had stayed longer. Recommend the walk at Duns around Hen Poo lake, our little dog loved it.

The fridge was freezing some of the food, even on the lowest setting.. It would also have been helpful for the freezer to have been switched on for our arrival.

The cottage was really cosy lovely and clean with all the things we needed for a great stay in this stunning area of the country.. Helen the owner was really attentive, giving us suggestions for days out and there was lots of information in the cottage along with a great selection of games and she's. The open fire was lovely and the rooms really spacious. The pub next door was really dog friendly and the food was great. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely family cottage with plenty of space.. All rooms are large and airy. Very comfortable beds and sofas in lounge. Cottage was spotless when we arrived. Heating was great, there is even an open fire (with coal and wood provided). Lots of DVDs to watch, music CDs to listen to and board games to play. Everything that we needed for the week was in the cottage. The cottage is situated in a smallish borders village with local shop, chip shop, pharmacy and local pubs. The pub (just a couple of doors away) allowed dogs and children in. Food from pub was great. Village was very close to places of interest like Berwick upon Tweed, Eyemouth, Holy Island and Alnwick.

Situated in the Scottish Borders, the cottage has easy access to the A1 and is great for visiting the local attractions. The cottage was well appointed and the welcome pack provided a lovely thought to start the holiday – the cake and homemade jam were excellent!!! Many thanks for providing such a wonderful base for the second part of our holiday.

Well equipped, beautifully presented cottage and fantastic hospitality from the owner (arriving to find our on-line Tesco delivery already received and packed away was the perfect welcome!). Kirkgate Cottage is a peaceful, comfortable haven. We found everything we needed there (and more) for a lovely few days exploring Berwick, Eyemouth and many more attractions close at hand. The children (ages 10 and 8) always had plenty to do on our return from exploring, with the cottages great stock of games and films. We will definitely be back!
