On arrival in the freezing cold NO HEATING ON ,Log burner NOT cleaned out .No Kindling or means of starting a fire .After a 7 hour drive we had to drop our luggage of to go shopping in Liskeard as there was not even a tea bag. milk or anything left for our arrival. We even had to buy logs kindling and fire lighters for the log burner ,We knew when we saw the washing up bowl the state the rest of the cottage would be in ,cupboards cutlery crockery all filthy ,had to wash everything before we could use them . Dog hairs under the beds sofa's stair case had to vac everywhere .The toilet brushes where disgusting along time since they have been cleaned need to go into the bin . Had to clean the Fridge Freezer and the bin's This place was not cleaned when we arrived We left it in a much better state of clenliness when we departed . The cupboard on the landing electric cables hanging down dangerous for children ,as the over loaded extention in the living room where the wifi is . When we stripped the bed's down as we were told to do duvet in the double room upstairs looked like the mice had been nesting inside it full of hole's . They definatley want to have this place deep cleaned what the cleaners have been doing throughout the lockdown is anybodies guess We received an e mail from SYKES COTTAGES asking us to leave the cottage in the same state as we had found it there is NO way that was going to happen this is our first expirience of hiring a cottage from Sykes at a cost of £643 for the week we won't be doing it again . There is nothing that has been left in this cottage fit for purpose . If you need proof i have photos to send to you as i am unable to upload them due to my age 78 years i am not computer savvy .

The Barn was very well equipped and I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the COVID friendly awareness.. As a dog friendly vacation I think it’s important for dog owners to know that the enclosed area is decking only and that there is nowhere to go for a walk with the dogs without driving somewhere. For me that was disappointing as it meant just a ten minute walk in the small area of all the holiday homes was all they had until we drove elsewhere. On a personal level I’m sorry to say I didn’t have a decent nights sleep while I was there, some people are ok with a rock hard mattress but I’ve come home totally exhausted with lack of sleep.

Me my husband 3 children and grandparents had an amazing time at kingfisher barn.. The setting was beautiful very peaceful. It was immaculately clean. We met Karen and Dave the cleaners Who were super friendly. Karen even organised a meal Out for me and my husband as we didn’t know where to go. She went above and beyond. The facilities were ample iron glasses mugs plates cooking items there were loads. We all Enjoyed playing on the pool table while the grandparents watched the amazon fire stick. A fantastic addition along with the bt boosters for WiFi. The only downside for me was there was no tumble dryer. We were unable to dry out beach towels as the weather was quite damp on an evening. Thank you we had an amazing stay!!

The house was dirty with dead fly and spiders everywhere.. It was freezing cold and it took two days to get it warm. It Said it had full sky tv but it only had normal free channels. The back doors was broken so that you could not open them. The house was in a general bad condition

Not easy to identify the property on arrival as the picture is of the rear of the property which is not visible from the car.. The heating had been turned down even though there was snow on arrival. Also, it was difficult to light the wood burner as there was no kindling provided. The parking area allocated to this unit seemed to be the only one not fully hard standing (rather boggy). The local information provided was very scanty and generally out of date. We had no means of contacting the owner/caretaker as there is no mobile signal and no email address given. Notwithstanding these comments we would still recommend this property.

Great place to stay, this isn’t the first time we have stayed at the Barn.. It’s excellent value for money and a great size. The kitchen has been replaced from last year which is a great as the old one was a little tired. I would definitely recommend for excellent value for money

Lovely barn great location as close to beaches and attractions.. Initially we were concerned as the garden was not completely enclosed as described and our 2 small dogs were able to escape. This was eventually rectified by the owner after contacting him. Poor WiFi unable to accommodate multiple users so beware if you have teenagers also very little mobile signal. Downstairs bed in particular was uncomfortable and noisy kids complained about springs in their mattresses. Overall though thought the property and location was ideal for us. Showers were excellent especially after a day at the beach, and we had all the comforts of home. Lots of information about things to do locally inside the property. It’s worth noting that this property is attached to other farm conversions and there are other people around as we thought this was more isolated. This was not a problem and there was a small communal swing system. Parking was easy take note of directions as property was initially tricky to locate. Definitely consider coming back.

Kingfisher barn is in a good position for visiting all areas of Cornwall and in a peaceful position.. I was shocked on arrival to find the property to be not as clean as I would like, it was certainly clean when we left it. The pool table was a big plus and was enjoyed by my daughter and her dad. The garden is not exactly enclosed as stated, we had to go out and buy chicken wire to prevent our dogs getting out, which took up one day of our holiday. The barn was reasonably well equipped but the downstairs double bed and the upstairs single were very uncomfortable. There are no dog walks straight off the property- no footpaths at all so you will need your car.

We arrived at the property and there was no central heating.. I have discussed this at length with your Customer Services team and although it is resolved, I believe Sykes should have been a little more on the side of their fee paying customer.

A great holiday house with everything we needed. The house was very spacious and the pool table was good fun. The house is located in a peaceful and rural location. There are farms opposite the house. The road leading down to the house is a track. The outdoor private decking area is nice for sitting out on a nice day. It's great that the house is dog friendly but you need to keep on your dog out on the outdoor decking area so that they don't jump over the top as the fence isn't very tall. The beds were alright. The broadband connection was very slow but no fibre broadband services are available there so that can't really be helped. The house is about a 15 minutes drive away from Looe. There is a Spar convinience store in Pelynt which is about a 10 minutes drive and a Morrisons supermarket in Liskeard about a 15 minutes drive away. The best dog friendly beach we found was Par Sands Beach PL25 5DS which is about a half an hour drive away.
