Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? The photographs of the cottage were accurate.. The cottage is well equipped and was clean and well maintained. (Some food - which we assume had been left by the previous occupants was left in a cupboard, which should have been disposed of before our arrival) Our main gripe however was the parking instructions which were not very clear. (We were led to believe the parking was literally across the road from the property when we rang to enquire. This was not the case) The parking was actually much further down the hill. When you don’t know an area, things like this can be quite confusing. We arrived on a Sunday and the offices were not open so we had no way of finding clear instructions. It was only on the following day when the office was open, we were informed we’d parked overnight in the wrong car park. Salcombe is a charming little town and the cottage is nestled in the centre, and a short walk from the harbour and shops.
