We had a very nice holiday at Jasmine cottage.. The location is fantastic and the cottage itself is very clean and well kept. Lovely views from the windows, great local pub, great local walks. Close to Chatsworth, Bakewell and Buxton. We even visited Alton towers and Mam Tor which are a little further but very easy to drive to. We had two cars and was easy to get parked here, so no need to worry about the lack of private parking. Overall it was a very comfortable base for a great holiday in this amazing place. Not to complain, but a couple of things to mention. The table situation was mentioned in the listing, but pulling it out does mean that the doors to garden/living room had to be shut to accommodate my party. So couldn't enjoy the lovely views while you have dinner. A conservatory would make this property superb. Think if you were 4 people or a family with 2/3 small children it would not have been so squashed, but we were 4 adults (ages 11-81) and it was a little cramped. The cleaning lady was there on the dot at 10am just as we were leaving. Think a half hour after would have been more sympathetic. Also, no firelighters. We had to buy some and think this is something I have come to expect from a property with log burner. The neighbors passed through the garden a couple of times which felt not as private as I would have liked. Also, the table and chairs outside are quite difficult for frail hands to move across the stones and we had an elderly person in our party who would have liked to sit outside a bit more. Aside from these things, this is a very nice cottage that certainly deserves its place on Sykes.
