Absolutely loved this little cottage, 2 mins from Aberdovey seafront, harbour and beach. Very cosy with both central heating and a wood burner, has a good size fridge/freezer, full size oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Iron and hairdryer provided. Although compact it is more than adequate as a holiday cottage, the bathroom is very small but has a good hot shower, the only thing my husband struggled with was no mirror in front of the sink to shave (there is a mirror but on a different wall.) The rear yard is small and only got the sun in the morning when we were there, it did have a washing line on which was great for drying bits whilst you were out for the day. No parking at the cottage but a permit is provided for the main car park. You can stop outside to unload. We had great weather when we were there, we walked the Roman Road, had fish and chips then sat on the beach and watched the sunset, the next day we walked up to the bandstand then got the train to Tywyn (not much there), walked the Panorama Walk on the ridge of the Happy Valley to the Bearded Lake, drove to the Dolgoch Falls, Dolgellau and onto Barmouth. Did the Wednesday market at Machynlleth then drove to Aberystwyth where we walked from the harbour round to the Cliff Railway up the mountain (amazing views) then back through the town. Also did a day to Aberaeron which is lovely. So many places to visit in a stunning part of Wales. We highly recommend this cottage and you won’t be disappointed if you book to go.

Beautiful little cottage in a fabulous location within the village and all amenities.. The each is a short five minute walk away. The quality of accommodation was excellent - comfortable, welcoming and spotless. Nice little touch with some essentials like bread and milk waiting for us. We used it as a base to visit family in the area and it was just perfect to come back to every evening and get the log burner going.

Our holiday at Ty Gwyn was very pleasurable, the cottage is well equipped and comfortable.. The only negative comment to make is that the courtyard is not available to your dog to relieve itself. I had rang Sykes before the balance of the holiday was taken from the bank account to question this after reading a review which said the same. After Sykes had communicated with the owner we were told that there was not a problem, however, within the information pack it stated that the courtyard was not to be used by your dog as a toilet. There was also a notice on the back door leading to the courtyard stating the same. Our dog will not "go" on the lead so, therefore, it meant we were up and out, on the beach around 6 am every morning and also last thing at night. As it was our holiday it would have been nice to have later morning starts. It might be helpful if this information was given within the description of facilities as I don't think we would have booked this cottage had we known about this restriction.

Tŷ Gwyn is a delightful little cottage, and we had a very comfortable week.. It was warm and cosy to come back to after a bracing walk along the stunning Aberdovey beach, and had everything we needed for our holiday. It is in a great location - close enough to wander down to the seafront and the many little shops and cafes, but also within very easy reach of beautiful countryside and coastal walks. Although the cottage sleeps four, two + a dog felt about right. Very nice to have a car park pass too, which saved us quite a bit of money. Thanks for everything!

A lovely comfortable cottage, very close all ameanaties.. Parking for us was ok but could be a problem at busy times. The one thing that was difficult for us there was no where for the dog to go.There is a small yard at the back, but this is out of bounds. Our dog won't go on the lead she waits till she gets home.Other than that Aberdovey is a great place full of lovely people. We would hope to return.

Lovely cottage.. Warm, clean, everything you need is there. Beds were comfy too which was wonderful. Train line nearby but never a problem. Quiet road too. Parking permit was useful with car park a short walk away and included other town car parking too. Welcome milk, bread and butter too. Beautiful area of the country to explore. Definitely will go again.

We were warned about the steep stairs but did find them a problem as we are not particularly mobile.. ..we were disappointed in the operation of the shower,,found it difficult to control...and the TV was'nt the best. .....

July 2018
The cottage was lovely and in a fantastic location, being less than 5 minutes walk to a fabulous beach and pretty high street.. I would recommend this holiday property. Aberdovey is very pretty, however could do with more eating places, especially in the evening.

It would really help to have a plan of each holiday accommodation offered on your website.. For disabled or less mobile tourists it can be crucial as to whether the bathroom is on the same floor as the bedroom, and whether there is a toilet on the ground floor. We had to take a gamble and luckily it worked out OK. Ty Gwyn is very well refurbished with really careful attention to detail retaining much of the original character and atmosphere of the cottage - both stylish and relaxed. It is much bigger inside than it appears outside. It is well equipped and comfortable and the owners provided some essential supplies (milk, butter and bread) on our arrival which was very welcome. There is also a parking permit for use at various carparks in the region, which was very useful. The wi-fi has a strong signal. The owners provide a very practical guide to the cottage with clear instructions on every aspect of the stay, as well as useful information about local services and amenities. Copperhill Street itself is rather noisy, but also within easy walking distance to the whole town, harbour and beach.

We found Ty Gwyn to be a comfortable base from which to explore the town of Aberdovey and the surrounding area.. It's ideally placed near to the shops, pubs and harbour and of course the fantastic beach. There were numerous leaflets and suggestions of things to do and places to visit while the cottage itself offers everything you need for a relaxing stay and the welcome pack provided was much appreciated.

A warm, comfortable cottage with good wifi and in a very good location.. We did have some problems with receiving BBC tv programmes and one time we had to watch 'Strictly' on our iPad. But overall the cottage and town were very enjoyable.

Ty Gwyn cottage was really comfortable and cosy.. We loved it. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Aberdovey is a really nice place with a super beach. We walked along to Tywyn quite a few times. Our dog loved the freedom. The villagers are very friendly and helpful and the local pubs very close to the cottage. We will definitely book again in the future and would recommend this cottage to anyone who wishes to visit Wales.

We stayed for a week in beautiful Aberdovey. The cottage was clean, well maintained with all mod cons including Wi Fi, dishwasher and a superb kitchen. The cottage is decorated in the beachcomber style. It does have a small upstairs shower room, with basin and toilet. This did take some manoeuvring, and was a challenge for my son as he's tall. The bedrooms, a double and a twin were very comfortable. Bedding is provided and plenty of fluffy towels. The owner lives a couple of doors down, and is very helpful and knowleable, suggesting days out etc. Parking in Aberdovey is in the main sea front car park. The owner provides a car park permit for free parking. We hardly drove at all, except for a visit to the local Co Op and a day out. This cottage is superbly appointed central to the beach, shops and pubs and restaurants. We loved our stay.
