The cabin is warm and welcoming, adorned with flowers from the farm, and boasting enough windows to flood the space with light. You’ll wake up each morning in the huge bed feeling rested, having enjoyed the kind of deep sleep you only get in the countryside. After a breakfast of fresh eggs, you’ll be ready to explore the area – and there’s plenty to explore.

Charmouth Beach is ten minutes away by car and is the perfect place for a paddle. Hunt for fossils and skim stones, marvelling that this little haven is in the UK. The farm is only five miles inland from the sea, tucked away in between Dorset and Devon’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – keen walkers will be in heaven.

After a long day of hiking and paddling, it’s a real treat to watch the sun begin to set over the cow meadow. Pour a glass of wine and admire the views that stretch all the way to Somerset. Later on, sitting around the fire pit, you’ll spot bats swooping through the trees above you. House martins and swallows nest around the farm, too, and you may also spot foxes, hedgehogs, badgers and roe deer. Rare orchids and meadow flowers bloom in the pastures surrounding the home, adding a sweet aroma to the country air.

This is a perfect sanctuary for two – you’ll never want to leave.
