Fantastic house, had an amazing time and already booked to come back next year!

July 2020
Just back from a wonderful week at Norton Grange.. Received a warm welcome from our host Sally, and the house was lovely. We all enjoyed the pool, kids and adults alike. Enjoyed crazy golf and in-door go karts which weren't far from the house by car. Only negative (and a small one at that), wear socks or similar in the pool as the floor was rough. Looking forward to coming back again some day.

We loved our stay at this property, it was perfect for a weekend away with friends.. Plenty of space for group meals/cooking and relaxing. We would love to come back again in the summer to use the pool facilities.

This was a pre Xmas family get together.. Absolutely fabulous house, fantastic facilities and looking forward to staying there next year . A great time was had by all of us.

Had a great family break away a Norton Grange in November 2019.. The house was lovely and warm, even before we lit the fire! The kitchen is definitely the heart of the house with a large island and even two sofas. Unfortunately when we stayed two of the upstairs bathrooms were out of action as the house is clearly being refurbished. We were told about this beforehand though, and the two other bathrooms were sufficient for our needs. Any guests coming after us will be able to reap the benefits of these newly fitted suites! We will be back!

The house is amazing with a very well equipped kitchen.. Plenty of space for the whole family. Lovely grounds and an amazing swimming pool that was used daily during our stay. We will definitely be back !

August 2019
The accommodation was extremely comfortable.. The facilities were superb, the swimming pool and games room perfect for both children and adults. The location of the property is wonderful being in a rural position and although being an old interesting building has been upgraded internally providing the blend of the old and the new, providing a characterful house with modern facilities. Our contact for the property, Sally, was very welcoming and most helpful.

July 2019
The one large moan from all the family is the coldness of the pool.. The temperature showed 22` centigrade on hot days and cool days. No warm water came out of the vents. The drain hole at the bottom of the pool looked blocked with stones.Even the children found it too cold and the 2 year old baby would not go in. Very very disappointing. The house and grounds are superb as are the indoor facilities.
Mrs Warburton, July 2019
July 2019
A beautiful home with every thing you could possibly want.. Great outside space with a fantastic swimming pool. The downside not enough sun loungers. However the house makes up for it with a stunning lounge, massive tvs and a games room. On top of that the beds are to die for.

The hot tap in the kitchen didn't work - slow trickle.. As we were catering for 10 people, this was very awkward. We reported it straight away to Sally (caretaker?/owner?) living in the cottage next door and she was clearly already aware of the problem and said they were waiting for a plumber. By the end of the week it still wasn't fixed. Otherwise a lovely house and great holiday!

This house was gorgeous.. Much bigger than it looks in the photographs, there was plenty of room for 13 adults and one baby to all congregate in one place, be that the kitchen, dining room, lounge or garden. The kitchen was more than suited to cooking for so many people ... with two fridge freezers, a double oven, an induction hob and an Aga (plus two dishwashers for afterwards). The views from the bedrooms were amazing, there was a family of rabbits that played on the lawn every morning and we made use of the pool (even if it wasn’t really the weather for it!) I wouldn’t hesitate to book a stay here again.

We booked this cottage as a hen party base for the weekend, and everyone found it to be a fab place to be! The cottage is hidden from the road and only has one small plaque on the wall outsideb which you can easily miss if coming from the motorway side, so an extra notice or sometiing would be beneficial, although not essential. The inside is huge, and considering we had 16 people staying, we didn't at any point feel on top of each other. The kitchen has lots of modern equipment in it, but the place also had single glazed windows, so you could definately see where money was and wasn't spent. It was well thought out though, with some really nice garden space too for exploring (including a den which our hen party found a great idea!!) Many of the girls were considering it as a place for future family get togethers due to the space and location. Definately a place I'd visit again if i were planning another party like this.

Great accommodation for a family gathering.. Kids and adults loved it !

December 2018
It was gorgeous.. The only thing that really bothered me was that 3 separate people came to the property. One to initially show me around... This was fine as we had pre-arranged this. However, another man came to the property about an hour after I had already arrived... This was not arrange and he was asking me about the deposit. It felt very invasive and I was reluctant to discuss with him as Sykes had not told me anyone was going to visit. I then had a third visitor on the morning we were leaving. This man arrived with his dog, again unannounced. He told me he wanted to check the property to ensure it was cleaned appropriately. This was at 9am.....whilst we were packing up. Three visits from 3 different people felt very invasive.

The house is hard to find in the dark as it is tucked behind another house and the sign is small..

August 2018
Some of the reviews I read on Trip Advisor failed to give the best impression of the property.. Many previous little criticisms had been acknowledged and dealt with. Baring in mind this is an old property one cannot expect a totally modern building. We had an amazing time although the pool was out of action on day one. Things happen and this was dealt with speedily. The beds were very comfy and the family bedrooms added to the quirky feel of the property. The showers and bathrooms were fine although perhaps a shower screen in the bathroom at the top of the stairs would make it easier for 15 people to shower for a quick exit to the pool/pub etc. The pool table was brilliant for all. The top lawn was perfect for lazy games of cricket (mind the holes though) or games with the dogs. And finally the kitchen...... This was the hub of the house for us and we all said we would love it ourselves. Obviously it had been massively updated and the only thing we didn't find was a potato peeler, as if that mattered! All in all a fantastic holiday. All 15 of us want to go back!

Nice property. Little out dated. But good size for large family or friends. Comfortably accompdates 16 people. Large garden and heated pool (may onwards). Showers are electric and not powerful. Rooms are very spacious. Kitchen is very well equipped with crockery glasses pots and pans etc. Well worth a visit. Local shops 5 min drive and local town centre 10mins drive. House set in farm like area. Nice walks.

I think the proximity to the M5 might be problematic in the summer due to the noise.. Otherwise lovely house in great location (except for previous comment).

July 2017
For the money we thought it lacked the little touches for the type of place it was.. Perhaps some soap and a welcome pack just to make the place feel a bit more special. These things are usually there in less expensive properties.
Mrs Rixon

The third bathroom could do with updating .. Loved the house and location otherwise

February 2017
We stayed here with a group of friends, including children for a weekend. The house is huge, ideal for big groups and lots of space for the children to play. However it looks as if no money has been spent on the place in decades. The bathrooms are all sub-standard with no power shower, peeling paint, cracked tiles, mould etc. The bedrooms were clean but the beds were uncomfortable and carpets threadbare in places. The kitchen is well appointed, although small. The sofas are all very tired and could do with being replaced. It was fine for a weekend to catch up with friends but wouldn't want to stay there again. It's a shame as the house has the potential to be absolutely amazing if it had a decent bit of money spent on furniture and bathrooms.
Mrs Rixon, April 2017

Just got back from a lovely family break away, ideal place for a large get together, especially with 5 children, 2 elderly people and the dogs, no packing up cars to the beach and trying to rally up 16 people! Everything in one place, kids in the pool, cups of tea on hand and no one screaming I need a wee!!! I'll try and keep this short but sorry if it's long! So yes it's a lovely place to have a large get together especially when the sun is shining you couldn't ask for more but here are few things just to make you aware of, all of these things wouldn't stop us booking again, we would definitely go back! So the house it's self is lovely, everything you would expect from a dog friendly house! Lots of space, a games room, large dining room and lots of bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1 bathroom off one of the bedrooms. Two of the main bedrooms I would say are more families rooms, one with a room off a room, not ideal for us adults if you have to walk through someone's bedroom to get to yours, would be better for a family. The other with a bunk bed and a double bed, again would suit a family better. My partner and I stayed in the first bedroom at the top of the stairs which had 2 single beds in it, my bed was so unbelievable squeaky, I did not dare turn over incase I woke the boyfriend up!! Also We had a little accident and spilt a bit of drink on the bed so we took off the bottom sheet and mattress protector to wash it and it looked like someone had previously been murdered in the bed! It was disgusting, we flipped the mattress and it was fine on the other side! Also the room was clean but not clean, clean around the skirting boards looked like it hadn't been hoovered in a few years. A lot of the bending was VERY bobbly and uncomfortable, but to sum up the bedrooms, they could do with a few new mattresses and new bedding and just a bit more of a deep clean, maybe just worth taking a few extra sheets with you, for the odd bits of bedding that are a bit rubbish. All not the end of the world. So there are 3 bathrooms, I would say the bathroom at the far end of the house is best, not amazing but the better out of the 3! The one at the top of the stairs just had a hand held shower, could really do with a full standing shower, was a bit of a nightmare but manageable for us young ones not so much for the older ones and the ensuite bathroom is very slow no power at all, took a while to wash my hair! There is a downstairs toilet, us girls didn't use it that often as the toilet seat was a little unsafe obviously fine for the men who didn't need to sit down! Also there was quite a bit of mould in there that had been covered with fake flowers!! The kitchen, well the kitchen/living room was our favourite gathering place, the hub of the house however in all honesty it needs to be replaced, far to small to cater for 16 people and the oven is appalling, worst oven in the world, far to small for the amount of people the house holds and it either took forever to cook something or if you put something on the top shelf it just burnt!! Was a mega task cooking, there is an Ager but you can't use it in summer so I don't know if that's any better! Really needs a double over and more worktop space. I would also recommend taking some of your own cutlery as there is dead on 16 pieces of each, at least one of us every meal time was hunting for a knife and folk!! Only really great thing about the kitchen is the dishwasher, quietest dishwasher I've ever come across! There is always plenty of HOT water and towels are provided and there is a very good washing machine and tumble dryer, came in very handy as well as the washing line. As its situated close the M5 you can here a bit of traffic, but it's not too bad, one review on here said it was super loud all day and night and you can't sleep because of it, totally not true, we hardly heard it! It's only a few miles from a 24 hour Tesco which was brilliant as we always needed a hundred pints of milk. The pool, the pool is lovely I wouldn't say it was heated as it was pretty cold, I think they just keep it at set temperature, so don't expect it to be like a hot tub, but it's very refreshing on those really warm days! Also it only gets cleaned out once a week so by the end of the week it was full of hundred of little seedy things from the trees and a few dead flies, we used the net but that only really got the big leaves! I think if you get there on the Friday like we did it should be cleaned again on the Tuesday! There also seemed to be no outside lights, there were lights in the pools which made it look amazing on an evening but no other lights, there was something what looked like it should be a light but we could not find a switch for no love or money! So would we go again, absolutely! We had a great time, it's not a 5 star house but we had a 5 star holiday! I think the owner just needs to add a bit of TLC and well we went in the last week of August so it's probably had a lot use before we got there, so you never know a few of the things they may be waiting for end of session to get put right! Don't let any of this put you off, just trying to be as honest as I can! We had a fab time and I totally miss that pool in my life!!! Oh and lastly I wouldn't recommend the local Chinese, it wasn't great, my nephew who is 7 said it was the worst Chinese he had ever had and well I couldn't correct him! Happy holidaying!

Group of 14 stayed at Norton grange to celebrate a 30th birthday party.. The property was a very good size to accommodate a large group, it was clean and well maintained. The caretaker Don was on hand if needed and was very helpful. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, local pub near by. The bbq and swimming pool got lots of use over the weekend. The only criticism was that the kitchen space was quite small. The dining room was spacious with a large table to seat everyone. Would definitely recommend and go back again :-)

The photographs of this property just didn't do it justice! We were overwhelmed by how beautiful it all was! Stunning house, beautiful grounds, superb pool and peaceful & picturesque location! We had a fabulous weeks holiday with extended family. The children changed straight from their pyjama's into their swimsuits almost every day! Just two things to point out to anyone looking to book this property, and these are points to bear in mind, not necessarily negatives. Access to one of the bedrooms is through an adjoining one, therefore when planning your holiday and who is going to sleep with who, you need to be mindful of that! And during the Summer months the Aga isn't in use and the electric oven isn't big enough to cook a meal for sixteen people satisfactorily, however we managed and it in no way spoilt our week. The dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer were excellent. All in all it was was an ideal property for a large party including children and dogs! We would definitely consider another stay at Norton Grange in the future.

Unusual booking as we had taken the place for a week for two special parties. The male key holder was pleasant and helpful, the woman was a complete opposite. Sunday morning one of our guests awoke to a complete stranger and child in the "private" pool, from then on we blocked access which the woman key holder complained about. She also complained about us leaving two outside lights on. We placed a balloon at the entrance as entrance was set back there were complaints about that! There was not enough outside seating or tables for all the guests. Beds and bathrooms very clean, the rest was very hit and miss.

Norton Grange is a substantial country property on a quiet country lane with views to the Malvern Hills to the west. There were 10 of us staying for a week, which was fine, but to accommodate a party at the capacity claimed in the property details you would need to have several children sharing with parents or be very good friends indeed...one bedroom sleeps 4 or 5 and another one 3 with access to another double bedroom. There is plenty of room downstairs, especially as the younger members of our group spent much of their time in the playroom. The house has a lived in feel, which I quite like, but there were a number of things which could do with some attention...a split partition wall in one bathroom for instance. Three things which did detract from the overall experience as far as I was concerned were; a) road noise...whilst the house is on a quiet country lane it is, unfortunately, about half a mile from the M5. The steady hum of traffic was audible all day and night which for a light sleeper like me is a real turn off. b) Lighting in the kitchen...there are lots of lights in the kitchen but none of them are where they need to be. One of the joys for me of a week away is having time to do some proper cooking, especially when there is an AGA. Sadly there is no light anywhere near the AGA nor over the sink, table or main worktop area. Were I to visit again, which I won't, I would make sure I had a head torch with me. c) WIFI...connection covers part of the house only. Workmen turned up early on the day of our departure to do something in the garden. That, along with the general condition of the property, makes me think the owners have had the house a long time without doing much maintenance or they have just acquired it and will be tackling some maintenance backlog.

Norton Grange is not just imposing, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere like a real family home. The swimming pool is a bonus, it's heated to the temperature of a warm bath and is a real luxury. The owner and staff are welcoming, friendly and genuinely seem to want you there.

We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the overall feel of the property. With it being an older property with character, it lent itself well to being the venue for a murder mystery night. Our guests particularly liked the social space within the kitchen/living area and the pool was a big hit! Although the house was large it was always warm and retained the heat well. It was in a great location, stunning views and really peaceful.

This was perfect for our large family get together. Loads of space, big rooms and the beds were very comfy. The style was grand, (the sitting room is stunning) but had all mod cons. The garden was lovely with, again, lots of space to lounge about or play boules etc. And the POOL!! It's the best pool we've used this side of the channel- and heated!!!! I say again, perfect!!

This was perfect for our large family get together..

The house was large and roomy, plenty of room for a large party like us. The views from the house were splendid, a great venue overall.

The house was beautiful and well equipped. We loved the games room and the very comfortable sofas. Leaving ice in the freezer was a lovely touch. I can't imagine having a better house to spend the weekend!

House excellently located to M5 so easy to find. Tesco nearby too for the essential food shop! Lovely big house to hold our family pre-Christmas get-together, even the dogs came along! Lots of rooms all of good size. Loved our stay. Thank you.

All had a really good time, plenty of places to get out of the way if you needed to. Enough bathrooms to share, at no time did we have to wait for bathrooms. We cooked the turkey in the agar and it tasted the best, none of us had cooked on an agar before. The formal dining room was especially nice, everyone sitting down to breakfast and dinner together. Everyone had a lovely time and they all said they would go back. Everything the brochure promised was there, and we did not feel let down at all.
