Foxford is ideally situated between the larger towns of Castlebar, Westport and Ballina and is nestled between the Ox and Neiphin mountains.The National Museum of Country Life is only a short drive away where you are brought back in time and see how life was like in the last century. Foxford is famous for its Woollen Mills with their rugs and blankets known all over the world. The visitor center is a must see while there also. The town of Foxford is situated on the banks of the river Moy where thousands of fishermen come back each year to fish these waters. For the walking enthusiast there are forest walks and walking trails such as the Foxford Way which is one of Mayo's finest walks. During the walk the walker will encounter Bogland, mountains,rivers,lakes and breathtaking scenery.
