The cottage has two double bedrooms, one with a smaller 4' double, sleeping up to four guests. There is a shower room, a kitchen, dining room and sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there is off-road parking and a decking area with outdoor seating. Whirligig Cottage is well-placed for discovering the Lake District national Park and the North Pennines AONB.
Area The attractive village of Armathwaite is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley and the coastline of the Solway Firth. The village has two old pubs, both serving excellent food, a Post Office and a traditional village shop. The River Eden runs through the centre of the village, and the area is renowned for excellent salmon fishing, walking, canoeing and climbing. The riverside Armathwaite Castle and 15th Century Church with stunning stained glass windows are worth visiting, as is the Eden Gorge, one of Cumbria's best-kept secrets.
