This was working holiday and my work commitment was quite busy but we didn't really feel it at all as our stay at Waters House was very pleasant.. I have to say that Joanne ( property owner) was very helpful & co-operative and she did her level best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She was there to welcome us at property late in the evening on arrival and showed us around. She lives next door and was always available for any issues with prompt response. She went out of the way to look after us. Plenty of space, beautiful bathrooms, and scenery was heavenly. Best part of the day was to have cup of tea in the afternoon in sun room ( conservatory) with separate radiator for the space. Wifi was excellent and mobile signals were surprisingly great. I would certainly recommend this property.

The house was gorgeous, even closer to the beach than we thought! In the morning we could see beautiful water and at night clear sky full of stars! Highly recommended!

The view is fantastic we were able to have family round for meals this is the second time I have used this accommodation but the first time for my sister and her husband they loved every minute and said they will be back it is breath taking staying here we had no problems whatsoever and sykes always deliver on the exact description on any of the properties we have stayed in and Mr & Mrs Waters really take great care of their property..

The location of the house is fantastic, right by the sea so you can hear and smell the water.. But the house is tired and half hearted at best, so for me does not score the rating you have given it - this was disappointing because we have used Sykes for years now and this house has let you down. The beds (mattresses and headboards) are old, uncomfortable and need replacing. The hob has been smashed and glued back together! The kitchen utensils were non-existent, literally just the absolute minimum - I've seen better in a caravan! The house needs to be listed as a 2* because that would manage the expectations of people looking to book something a bit special, which this - apart from location - is not. I have some photos if that would help.

Very friendly owners, wonderful location .... Very friendly owners, wonderful location however the beds are old and only standard size, and while there is everything you need the house felt a little sparse i,e, no radio in the kitchen but all in all the grand holiday let

Can only echo previous positive reviews.. Waters House is a lovely property in a really peaceful location. The house is large, yet comfortingly cosy in the cold winter weather we experienced. We found the conservatory to be usable despite the low outside temperatures and a super suntrap. Very interesting locality. All the locals we encountered were really friendly and welcoming. Despite some "Beast from the East" weather difficulties we really enjoyed our brief immersion into Irish life. Love their lifestyle, culture, history, and the future looks good, too, with continued EU membership. Envious.

No real beach.. Found house very cold and bad smell from utility room from oil central heating. Beds very uncomfortable matresses need replacing shattered coming hme. Furniture in utility broken. House generally shabby. Would rate poor. View from hse incredible. Cooker kept cutting off and impossible to cook a dinner. Would not return

Absolutely amazing 5 night break with my wife & dog.. Perfect location for a 10 minute walk to the beach. Being aware there is a rocky path but no problem if you have no walking difficulties. We watched beautiful sunsets nearly every night from the comfort of the conservatory. Well stocked kitchen , a warm fire awaited with plenty of coal & wood to keep us going although with the central heating we personally didn’t need the extra heat! A local shop where we stocked up twice only 10 minutes away. The lady owner was there to greet us at 20.30 on arrival other than the friendly wave we were not bothered. I would recommend this house & location to anyone it was most memorable.

Cottage was obviously empty for some time and was extremely cold upon arrival.. Would have been nice if the cottage had been warmed up a little before our arrival. Hosts were absolutely fabulous went above and beyond when electricity failed in the locality one evening. Cottage is great and location could not be better

Great views, and affords plenty of space both inside and out. Unfortunately we found the property cold, rather like a rented house. The TVs is ancient and we struggled to read the script on the guide, subtitles are not legible due to the narrowing of its tube. The towels were limited and old, I used my clean dog towel for myself; shower over bath is disconnected but the two showers were great. Bed in 2nd double very squeaky and worn; when I looked under bed to check I had packed everything I could see why it was so uncomfortable as there was a rip in it and stuffing coming out so it must be older than the tv! A few things you may need to take: Clean dish cloth and sponge, any cleaning products for bath/ toilets, kitchen surface. Dishwasher tablets Hand towel for downstairs loo. DVDs, player but no library. Tea coffee and milk for your first cuppa as no welcome pack. Plastic plates etc to use if you want to take a picnic out to beach etc Cork screw that works. Oven Grill pan rack for sausages, steaks etc to cook on. A torch as we had two power outages, one in area one localised to property late in the evening after the owners of the property had turned in for the night. Little folding beach chairs to take to beach or your own beach towels. Games... jigsaws, scrabble, cards etc for rainy days. We did enjoy our time in the area and liked coming back to Water's House knowing we could sit in the conservatory and relax.

Lovely house with amazing views over the sea. Very quiet location. Spacious house with 3 bedrooms, one with a lovely en suite and the main bathroom was just beautiful. Separate dining room and a utility room but my favourite was the conservatory. We spent most evenings in there with a glass of wine. The house has wooden floors, wooden doors, and a wooden staircase which all looks lovely but it's very creaky and echo's a lot. Could do with some rugs to soften it. The bed in the second bedroom also creaks - a lot, and the mattress has seen better days , but I am very fussy when it comes to a bed!! Also, the television is ancient and channels are very limited. This didn't bother us but if you have children it may be an issue. All that aside, it was a lovely house and we had a fantastic time. The pub that is a mile down the lane is only open Friday and Saturday evenings from 9pm but the pub in Carrick (3 miles away)- Colfers, just up from the Red Door cafe (which you must visit) is a typical Irish pub. Lots of character and very friendly. There is also a little shop there where you can get supplies but there is also a supermarket in Wellington Bridge which is also 3 miles from the cottage. We also tried the take away just up from the Colfers pub and it was very good indeed. Hook lighthouse is well worth a visit as is Tintern Abbey.

Walked in to a spacious house it looks like a cottage on the outside but a house on the inside and it host three bedrooms which will comfortably suite 6 one of those with an ensuite. The biggest bathroom I have ever seen (both a shower and a free standing bath with looks out on to the bay. The house being on the beach coast was never cold. “The house is in the most spectacular setting right on the coast. You could watch the sun come up every morning and the sun set each evening. Real peace and quiet and fantastic starry sky at night. The beach is only a short stroll down but the approach is a bit scary due to the cliff erosion. We chose to drive round to a little bay and access the beach from there" If you want relaxation its a perfect place or even just a base you cant go wrong this

The standard of the property was, in our view, excellent and we would certainly consider going back and also recommend to friends and family. We had a really relaxing time. It made all the difference being able to take our puppy along.
