3 of us stayed here with our 2 dogs.. Such a warm homely feeling as soon as you walked through the door. Perfect location for us to explore Norfolk. Lovely little town and couldn't find any faults. The shower was amazing. Would definately book again

Valentine cottage was very comfortable and suitable for our needs.. It was well positioned for local shops, pubs, tearooms, etc., and close to visiting family and a variety of beaches/towns. The cottage is situated on a narrow one way road and at times was tricky to navigate through the parked cars to parking on the next road. Even though the owner advised us to ignore the ‘illegal’ no parking signs outside some of the houses on the road she recommended us to park on, we did feel uncomfortable if we did park there but we were always able to park elsewhere along that road. I thought that due to Covid-19 soft furnishings, books/games, rugs, decorative pieces. etc would have been removed. Saying that, the cottage was very homely. We enjoyed staying in Hayley’s cottage and she was very helpful and always available if required.

Comfortable cottage in a lovely village with all amenities close to hand.. Parking close to cottage is a bit hit and miss but we were happy to park overnight in a car park close to the Market Place which is 5 mins walk from the cottage.

This is the perfect little holiday cottage to stay in Elsa! This is my third time staying I will most definitely be back! The wood burner is so soothing on cold days after long walks in the woods and having the bath to soak in on those days is also perfect! There’s a washer, dryer, everything you could need in the kitchen. And the two beds upstairs are very comfortable. That location and close proximity to town is just perfect with very convenient walks on your doorstep! I really never wanted to leave! You won’t have regrets if you stay here! Thank you!!

Fantastic cosy cottage with all the comforts of home and more! We don't have the comfort and luxury of a wood burner at home and we certainly made full use of the one in Valentine Cottage. The location of the property was perfect in every respect for exploring Aylsham and everything it had to offer. The town itself can proudly boast numerous independent shops and businesses as well as the choice of food stores. The church is in the centre and stands very majestically surrounded by centuries of history. We really enjoyed our week long stay in both the cottage and the town of Aylsham and certainly hope to return when the days are warmer and longer to enable us to explore further afield without having to use the car!

We will return and hopefully Valentine cottage will be available for our use.. Only one negative to mention - a water filter is needed as tap water used to boil kettle leaves an unpleasant scum in the mug. The Kettle needs replacing or de-scaling. We used bottled water after our first cup of tea. Meanwhile a bottle of water on arrival to use instead would be a good idea.

Thank you for your lovely, sweet cottage Haley! We have stayed at Valentines cottage twice and will most definitely stay again! Besides it’s perfect location and more than reasonable fees, this cottage has everything you could want or need! I loved the bath and wood burner when we stayed in November! The full kitchen has everything including washer and dryer! Very cozy and quiet! We brought my in laws last July for their first trip to England and they were very comfortable as they could pop out for a walk into town whenever they liked. If you ever consider sellers by, please let me know! Thank you so much! Jamie

The cottage was well equipped furniture and beds were comfy.. However, it would have been good to know that the bathroom was downstairs as it was difficult if you needed to use facilities at night. The kitchen appliances were not easy to operate and there was only instructions on how to use the cooker and no operating manuals to be found to help navigate use of the electric hob. Managed to get the microwave working by trial and error. The owner was difficult to get hold of and did not return our calls which was disappointing. Wifi was switched off so couldn't connect till we worked it out. Again no instructions left for guests use. It would have been nice to have had a basic welcome pack, at least, to tide one over. Garden was a bonus and the seating was comfy. It was close by the local shops which was very handy. Parking would have been a nightmare if not for a kindly neighbour at the top end of Town Lane who let us park there for the majority of our stay. Aylsham Town is a lovely place to stay and Norwich, Cromer and Blickling Hall were close by. Enjoyed our stay in Norfolk and will definitely visit the area again.

Valentines cottage is a perfectly located and very cozy place to stay close to the town center of Aylsham.. The wood burner is so fabulous to have in cold nights to cuddle up with family in front of. The owner, Hayley, very kindly supplied us with our first nights wood and offers to do so every night for the duration of your stay. The cottage is very well decorated with everything one needs for cooking. I was surprised to find a good sized bathroom with a fairly deep tub as I didn’t see that in the listing. The tub was perfect after days of long walks and it tucked the final boxes for all of our needs. Good sized beds, bedrooms and rooms. We will most definitely want to stay here again so much so that I would like to put in an offer should and Hayley want to consider selling it in the future! Thank you! Xx

Stayed at Valentine Cottage for a weeks walking break recently. The cottage is a very cosy, warm and well equiped old, traditional property that has all the ameneties one needs for a weeks holiday. However there are one or two drawbacks one needs to consider before booking. Parking is not easy. The cottage is situated on a lane that is wide enough only for 1.5 cars and passing parked vehicles is difficult. Easy parking is found a minimum of 150 yards away which might not suit some travellers. The main drawback is the downstairs toilet and bathroom. The only way to access this room, is through the sitting room, through the kitchen, across a cold lobby and into the toilet, where the light switch is situated behind the door, which is not easy during the night. This may be a consideration for some potential guests.

This is the second time I've been to this particular cottage and it is lovely, a real home from home. It is the best one I have ever stayed in which is why we decided to go again. It's in a lovely part of the country with lots to do with the children and very dog friendly! We will definitely go again.

The cottage was very well equipped and cosy. Good to find a cottage that would take 2 dogs with a dog friendly garden and lovely walks nearby on the Blickling estate. It was well placed for the coast and nice that we could walk to the pub!

November 2014
It was ideally situated in the town where we could walk into town and not have to use the car - perfect. The cottage was perfect too with everything that we could want. Although the garden wasn't directly outside the back door, it was near enough and was enclosed so we could let the dog have a lovely run. The wood burning stove was in use during the holiday and this made the cottage even more cosy. The town was very dog friendly which was important to us. The pub in the town served excellent food and was also dog friendly which meant we could have a nice drink in the evenings and not have to leave the dog in the car as it was his holiday too. We had a lovely relaxing time and the cottage had everything that we needed including milk, tea and coffee for when we arrived, so we could have a cup of tea without even needing to unpack!! Will definitely come back. Thank you

The cottage was ideally situated in a small town with good shops and places to eat. It is also a great centre for visiting Norfolk as between Norwich and Coast. There is lots to do in the area: walking, history, beaches and nature. The Cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed for our country holiday including a garden for our grandson to play in.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely character cottage. It is in a good location in an attractive town and close enough to drive to nearby attractions like the Broads. The wood burning stove in the living room was nice and cosy. The standard of the decor and furnishings was high and the whole house was very attractive.

The cottage was beautiful and well maintained. Lovely location and very peaceful. Friendly village and very friendly locals. Our host was thoughtful and had left us a bottle of wine, milk in the fridge beds for the dogs so we were made to feel very welcome.
