Underwood is an immaculately presented, single-storey cottage with a private hot tub and spectacular views and is half a mile from Coniston Water and just two miles from Coniston in the beautiful Lake District. This ground floor cottage can sleep six people and has a king-size double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a whirlpool bath, a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and access to the conservatory. The cottage also has a kitchen, and a sitting room with a dining area and woodburner. Outside there is ample off road parking and a rear, enclosed patio with a private hot tub and BBQ. With Coniston Water just a 10 minute walk away, Underwood is a wonderful holiday base.

All ground floor. Three bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with ensuite WC, basin and walk in shower, 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin with en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC; all bedrooms with TVs. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and wood burner.

Area
Nestling at the head of Coniston Water, the pretty village of Coniston is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lake District National Park and makes a superb base for touring, with Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere just a short drive away. Superb walking, mountain biking and climbing is available locally on Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam, and the lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest. For water sports enthusiasts the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing.

Underwood is a fantastic cottage.. Very well equipped and ideally situated. Owners on hand if needed but not intrusive. If I had to find a criticism it would be that the whirlpool bath has been replaced with a shower. Hot tun fab. Would highly recommend this holiday cottage.

A lovely cottage with fabulous views. Extremely clean and lovely and warm. Easy walking distance down to the Lake and scenic walk to Coniston. The cottage was well equipped and big enough for 6 adults. The hot tub was fabulous and we certainly made plenty of use of it especially after a winter walk. The internet was good. We'll definitely book again. We booked direct with the owner which saved us money.

Cottage was, beautiful and had everything and more that you need.. My friends and I had a lovely relaxed time. Scenery was stunning, and we even had snow on one day. Went a walk to pub on Sunday Wilson Inn its was lovely and great food, friendly atmosphere.

Beautiful cottage - just outside Torver Well appointed - very kind hosts who couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was special.. The Elf on the shelf was a nice touch - and our 7 year old twins enjoyed the complimentary biscuits The highlight for them was the hot-tub just outside the heated conservatory - and the spare towels were a welcome surprise The cottage made a nice break very special.

We had a super time and Helen & Allan looked after us very well - just one small point we have used Sykes a number of times and this is due to the accuracy of the listings - however on this occasion we did feel the photos made the house look a lot bigger than it was - especially the outside area which is important when you have children..

We had an excellent long weekend at Underwood with 3 generations of family celebrating a diamond wedding anniversary.. It was good that all the bedrooms were ensuite and that it was mostly on one level ,only the conservatory had steps .it was well equipped, very clean and comfortable . It would have been nice if the heating had been on for our arrival as it was cold that day but it did warm up when we lit the fire and boosted the central heating . Overall it was a good few days and I have no qualms about recommending this cottage .

We enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable and well-equipped cottage.. The views are spectacular and the hot tub was a very relaxing place to be at the end of a busy day. The helpful owners live next door and came quickly if we needed anything but otherwise left us to enjoy our time at the property. Our dog was welcomed, settled down quickly, and enjoyed her walks along the safe path across the road. We had plenty of good quality towels and good quality linen on our very comfortable beds. A very enjoyable week.

We rented the cottage for a family celebration weekend break. We were all delighted with the location, views and privacy that we found when we arrived, and the cottage was beautiful. All of the rooms were clean and the cottage was large enough to accommodate five adults easily. The hot tub was an added bonus at the end of a long rewarding walk.

An incredible week away with family and friends.. I have re-charged the batteries by relaxing in a brilliant location, property, and great pubs with real ales and great food! The Hot Tub had plenty of use during the day and night and especially after walking up to Scarfell Pike!!. Would defiantly recommend this place to anyone. A great base to explore the surrounding areas.

Went with two friends for a 60th Birthday.. It was perfect, fabulous walks from cottage which was spotless, excellent facilities and hot tub and wood burner made it cosy on November evenings. Beautiful views from cottage. Would definitely return.

Loved our weeks family stay at Underwood - a beautiful, dog friendly, spacious cottage that had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable, clean and lovely to come back to after a day out and about. Very peaceful and relaxing, with amazing views. The cottage is a great place to base yourself to explore other towns and lakes. But we also loved Coniston village and the lake itself- enjoyed kayaking and the motor boats. Also visited and enjoyed a excellent meal at one of the local pubs 5 mins drive up the road at Torver. Some lovely walks direct from the cottage to the waters edge and on to Coniston. We ended every day with a dip in the hot tub under the stars, perfect! The owners were very friendly and we would highly recommend Underwood to anyone considering a visit to the Lakes.

I chose Underwood Cottage as it seemed to fit the bill - 3 bedrooms with en-suites plus a hot tub in beautiful surroundings to celebrate my 60th birthday with adult children & partners. I chose well! It was advertised as welcoming dogs and as we don't have a dog, I did wonder if the cottage might show "doggy wear and tear" . However, Underwood was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. An added bonus was that we could walk "The old Man of Coniston" from the doorstep together with many other delightful walks and bike rides without the need to get in the car. The weather was unseasonably cold but the cottage was snug and warm and we had no need to light the woodburner ( mores the pity). We would definitely book again.

Lovely well equipped and presented bungalow, plenty of parking, within easy reach of Coniston and other villages. Many cicular walks from the door plus alot within short driving distance. Pub approx 1 mile from bungalow to which dogs are allowed. We all really enjoyed out stay, dogs as well, we benefited from the peace and quiet and felt very relaxed by the time our week was complete.

Great cottage near coniston perfect size for 6 adults, clean, comfortable and friendly owners. Amazing hot tub and views across the lakes just a short walk to the local pub and some lovely pubs in coniston for great food. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and also has a nice conservatory. Many lovely local walks around the area and near by to hawkshead and grizedale forest for more exploring. We will recommend to others and would definitely stay again!!!
