Area
Caernarfon is one of the most historical towns in the United Kingdom: there are few others who can claim to have been continually inhabited since Stone Age times. Evidence of its history is most evident in the famous Caernarfon Castle, which began its construction in 1283 as a fortress, a seat of government and a home for royalty. The town itself is the site of many events and festivals throughout the year, such as the UK Strong Man Competition, the Caernarfon Festival and meetings of the North Wales Automobile Club. The Welsh Highland Railway offers trips through the region, where you can begin to fully appreciate the splendour of the region and you can take a boat out on a fishing trip from the local harbour. The town itself is well-served by restaurants and shops and its close proximity to the local beaches offer the chance to get the best of coast and country.

Region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Amenities
Electric panel heaters. Electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer in rear porch, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi. Electricity inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Please bring own beach towels. Cot, highchair and stairgate by arrangement. Ample off road parking. Lockable storage available for bikes, canoes etc. Open grass garden with coastal views, furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 1 mile, pub 2 miles. A beautiful peaceful rural location but within easy reach of the main road.. The cottage is extremely cosy, perfect for relaxation after a strenuous trip up Snowdon!! Directly near the cottage are various footpaths which are well worth exploring, offering stunning scenery for taking that perfect holiday photo.

Fantastic quiet location, lovely old cottage, well furnished and comfortable.. Just what we needed. Only criticism, the outdoor seating was an afterthought on a small Sloping triangle of grass. The place could do with a little more relaxed outdoor seating and the table area being level. There is loads of space outside do this.

The cottage was cold and felt damp on our arrival.. Bedding was clean but smelled musty so much so that we bought a new quilt to sleep under. Bathroom had some mildew round the window and on the net curtain and blind. Furniture was tired but adequate. It has a lot of potential and is in an excellent location being very secluded and quiet. Its definitely ready for a refurbishment and in our opinion not worth the four ticks that sykes awarded it. And certainly didn't measure up to the o other sykes properties we've stayed in over the last two years. We cut our holiday short by two days because we were so disappointed in the accommodation.

This is a very cosy cottage and it is well worth staying here.. The location is very peaceful and there are several nice walks close by. It is also quite easy to visit a lot of attractions that North Wales has to offer and is only a short drive to Caernarfon. The fact that a steam railway is a stones throw away is a real bonus and it is always a treat to see the steam engine chugging past. If I have to nit pick a bit then the shower is a definite struggle for anyone 6ft tall or over which I am. I had to pretty much bend my knees at times to fit under and also the flow for the hot water tap in the kitchen is very slow. We had to boil the kettle and pour it into the sink in order to wash up nearly every time we undertook this as the water didn't feel hot enough so that needs improving. In conclusion though this is a cottage that we would definitely visit again and we would recommend it for sure.

The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. The bedrooms upstairs were more spacious than we were expecting. The owner was welcoming and friendly without being overbearing, she made sure we had everything we needed. The children (5 and 3 years old) loved the cottage and grounds, especially the chickens which our younger son wanted to chase (poor chickens). We particularly enjoyed flagging down the steam train from the halt station at the end of the drive.

The cottage was cosy and warm and the owner was friendly and helpful. The rural location was excellent; there are horses, sheep and hens right outside the door, as well as a wide variety of country walks. Local information provided by the owner is exceptionally good. The cottage is an excellent location whether you want beaches, mountains or history (in the form of Caernarfon Castle and much more). The view from the kitchen window whilst washing up is beautiful. I hope to return when the Welsh Highland Railway is running to hail down the train at the station at the end of the garden. We returned home feeling relaxed and recharged.

Beautiful, quiet location. Owner was very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. It was good having several walks that could be done from the house without having to drive anywhere, and also having the Welsh Highland Railway station a minute's walk away.

Beautiful quiet location with plenty of wildlife about. Country walking excellent from the door, leaving car at property most of week. Very helpful owner has provided a great deal of her time and work to ensure that visitors want for nothing. Bonus for my husband being the Welsh Highland Railway, just two minutes walk from the door and in view from the cottage door.
