This rustic cottage is an eleven-minute drive from St Michael’s Mount, seven minutes from Hendra Beach, and just over twenty to Newlyn Harbour. But rather than a seaside escape, this lakeside retreat is even better. Set in a 1.25-acre land by the edge of Wheal Grey Lake, this grey stone building is surrounded by lush lawns, majestic trees, and (for the most part) blue skies. You can make the most of incredible outdoor facilities such as picnics in the garden, barbecues on the patio, chilled glasses of wine in the lakeside summer house, or catching rays on the sun loungers. But don’t forget to check out the interiors as well. We love traditional countryside features like the wood-burning stove set in an original stone fireplace. But the furniture and decor has a fresh, modern edge – painted white beams and a glass coffee table bring an elegant contrast to what you’d expect from this cottage. Cosy up in the conservatory as you nibble the Cornish treats in your welcome hamper, then get ready to enjoy lakeside living.
