Thorsvik is a detached wooden cottage set in a stunning location, within the hamlet of Tokavaig, 15 miles from Broadford on the Isle of Skye. This cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms, consisting of two doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower room, and a twin, as well as a family bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room. Outside there is ample off road parking and a front decked balcony. Thorsvik is an ideal base for exploring the lovely Isle of Skye and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.. Note: Electric Vehicle Charging is not permitted at this property.

All ground floor. Three bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room.

Area
Broadford is Skye's second largest village set along the southern side of Broadford Bay. Broadford offers shops, hotels and colourful craft stalls.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Eine Wohlfühlunterkunft. Sehr gut ausgestattet - von der Küche bis zum Kaminofen mit ausreichend Holz. Wir empfehlen max. 4 Personen, da das dritte Schlafzimmer durch die Wasserversorgung geräuschbeaufschlagt ist - aber erträglich. Man muss wissen, dass die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit oder die nächsten Restaurants 15 bis 20 km entfernt sind, davon ca. 10 km Single-Track-Road. Das ist jedoch auch das Schöne an der Lage.

The cottage is situated with uninterrupted views of the loch and mountains, simply stunning. Everything you need in the cottage, very much homely style. Some areas a little tired looking but we found it added to the charm. The tranquil setting, sitting on the verandah overlooking amazing scenery watching the sun go down - breathtaking! We were lucky with excellent weather, to sit out till gone 11pm at night, and it was still very light!

This cottage couldn't be in a better location, the views are stunning.. The road down to the cottage is a bit narrow and uneven but we .managed in our little C1. The warm and cosy cottage has everything possible you could need and is really well set out. My only criticism could be that it needs a little updating. Loose towel rails, lumpy mattress, dated decor. But all this is forgotten when you look out of the window. One last thing dont be frightened when you hear bangs against the walls in the night, it's just the sheep.

This may well be the best view in Skye, looking across to the whole Cuillin ridge, Blaven and the red hills - on a good day, just add spectacular sunset.. Huge windows let the view and the light flood in. Such a well-designed and well-equipped house, and impeccably clean on arrival; an excellent base for exploring south Skye which has so much to offer. We absolutely loved it, and would love to come back. (Happy for you to quote the above. Our only niggle, and very slight - somewhat uncomfortable synthetic pillows; we understand they are practical, but maybe worth investing in an upgrade - we have otherwise slept so well on Skye.)

The house was warm and cosy for a trip to Skye in November.. The views are spectacular, the best way to wake up. You could happily just sit and look out of the windows all day. The wildlife is amazing we saw deer, seals and dolphins from the house and an array of small birds. Just a perfect antidote from normal life. Will be back.

Wow! What a view! Also the cottage is brilliantly laid out for a holiday property with plenty of space for 6 people to relax. Comfortable beds, lots of hot water, always cosily heated on pur return from a day out and plenty cooking equipment etc. The property is wonderfully secluded - 6 miles down a single track road - and so an integral part of the Skye experience. However Broadford, with its Co-op is accessible. Great place, thanks

Great value for money.. Easy to book and very accurate listing. Check in seamless and as arranged. Property very clean and well looked after. Superb views and maybe some more photos of that would also enhance future bookings...so much better than we had hoped and it did not disappoint. Rooms well kitted out and all bigger than we thought. Great location and directions provided spot on! Knew this part of the island but had never stayed on that side of the south. Would definitely return...and did not actually want to leave!! Would definitely recommend!!

This cosy, comfortable house is a great size for a group of friends and family who like to enjoy their own different interests and come together at dinner time, looking out over the most spectacular view.. The house has a lot of character and fits so well in the environment, with sheep, deer, owls and other wildlife all around and incredible sunsets most nights. We love this place.

We are regular visitors to Thorsvik in Skye and the house feels like our second home.. It caters for six of us very well, with plenty of room to allow for all our interests; drawing, bird/animal/star watching, adventuring, reading, playing games, watching films, cooking, baking etc. It is a cosy, welcoming house in an amazing location with good facilities for all weather and eventualities.

Utterly amazing place! Cannot speak highly enough of it. The road in is not for anyone who is not confident behind the whe if the car but oh so worth the extra effort. I have never felt so st home from home in my life Thorsvik is an outstanding home and very well suited for a truly relaxing get away from everything.

Despite the variable weather - the experience on Skye was wonderful.. The cottage was a home from home with the added bonus of the wildlife nearby - especially the deer who visited every day. Local residents were so friendly and hospitable - ready to offer advice and we even joined in a weekly local art class where we were welcomed with open arms. People were so ready to tell us about special places on the Island and we learnt so much about local history, lore and legend. We met "incomers" who had settled on the Island and they were honest and open about the advantages and disadvantages of Island living which enhanced our overall visit. Most of the people working in the service industry - cafes, restaurants, shops were friendly and helpful.

Thorsvik was wounderful.. We was blown away by how much more than just the essentials this property harbours, the kitchen, the laundry room, the multiple bathrooms. Anything you might need while on your holiday that you forgot to bring is probably there! Including a fascinating collection of books to admire. This place feels very homely, and the views from the decking area are spectacular! (Photos do no justice). We are likely to return :)

Simply an incredible property, with a totally breathtaking view.. We had a brilliant time here over Hogamanay and really enjoyed exploring the surrounding landscape. Remote but very deserving of the journey!

Very easy booking - all the information was provided very clearly and quickly.. Everything was exactly as expected. The cottage was amazing - extremely comfortable and the best location we have experienced after several trips to Scotland. We had a wonderful week at Thorsvik, the home was very well equipped and comfortable.. The views are amazing and we saw plenty of wildlife including the elusive pine martin. Thorsvik is just the place to escape the hustle and bustle with the peaceful surroundings and the panoramic views. The only downside was each time I attempted to make a meal I was drawn to every window to admire the view so we ate late every night (a problem that was more of a bonus). Also the house was supprisingly warm for an open plan space we had to turn the heating down in November. We will definetly be returning.

This cosy, homely house has the most spectacular view.. A sea eagle flew past as soon as we arrived and there were otters and seals very close to shore most days.

We particularly liked being secluded and able to switch off from day to day life. We had a lovely walk and went for a drive too. Thorsvik was a great size, not limited on space at all. Plenty utensils and facilities.
