We enjoyed our stay in the Tractor Shed despite the awfull weather that week It's a quirky property, very comfortable, quiet and peaceful.. The county of Shropshire is a great place with lots of interesting things in the area to see & do. Rob & Fiona made us very welcome and Maisy the dog was a delight (what a character)

Fantastic, quirky, roomy property.. Family very welcoming including Maisy the retriever. Lots of little extras on arrival, milk in fridge, coffee, tea, sugar, s&p and washing up liquid. Despite temperatures of 5 degrees outside, all that was needed was a little sunshine to warm the Tractor Shed to a balmy 24 degrees and make you think you were on holiday in Spain and certainly not in Shropshire. Fantastic! Hawkstone Park & Follies, Chirk Castle, Chester and Shrewsbury all worth a visit. Co-op shop in Wem is only about 5 miles away, is fairly new and has good car park. Comment by visiting granddaughter, aged 5, was ‘I really like your new house’.

The Tractor Shed was brilliant, owners Rob & Fiona were so welcoming and their dog Masie was so friendly.. The place itself was decorated well and had everything you could need. The location was perfect with places to walk to in the surrounding areas and not far from Shrewsbury town centre, with some lovely pubs within a few miles distance. I would definitely visit again. The only thing we could fault the cottage for was no shower (not a major issue!)

The Tractor Shed is a joy to behold, peaceful, comfortable and very very welcoming - Fiona and Rob are wonderful hosts and Masie is excellent company when she just trots in which given the chance she will do and she is more than welcome ( if you don't like gun dogs well in her mind tough, you have to love her) .. The views early morning with a frosty air are wonderful, and lighting up the stove, getting a book and curling up was an ideal way to spend a week away from office e-mails. Will certainly return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at The Tractor Shed.. Wonderful accommodation with fantastic views, equipped with everything we needed for a perfect weekend away. The hosts were very friendly and recommended lovely local walks. Lazy mornings, full English breakfast (made with sausage and bacon from the farm shop), a brisk autumn walk in the afternoon, back to The Tractor Shed for dinner, then curling up in front of the log burner - really was our idea of perfection. Thank you.

What an amazing place - huge living space, all glass front, vaulted ceiling, wooden beams everywhere, mezzanine bedroom overlooking the living room, and spare room for 2 more guests. The all glass front overlooks a field with sheep, so it's peaceful and private. It does get hot in the summer but we don't mind the heat. Nicely equipped kitchen with copper utensils, washing machine but no dish washer which didn't bother us. Only one bathroom downstairs with a lovely slipper bath. Lots of places to explore from here. In summary a great place for a romantic peaceful getaway. I tried uploading pictures but it didn't work so I had to rewrite the review without pictures.

We had a wonderful stay at the tractor shed, the children loved the freedom of running in the fields and playing with maisy the dog.. The shed it's self was beautiful and the views in the morning are one we will miss very relaxing. There is plenty to do in the area, hawkstobe follies, battlefield 1403, amazing local pubs. Would love to return.

The Tractor Shed is an amazing use of space - lovely large living area with high ceiling, huge glass front, mezzanine bedroom, well equipped kitchen and useful patio area.. Peaceful and quiet with panoramic views of sheep grazing. Also lots to see and do. The weather was perfect - hot and sunny. We did have to get rid of flies but that was to be expected with this long hot summer.

Really enjoyed staying here.. Open plan living, friendly and helpful hosts, lots to see and do nearby, and a farm dog and 2 cats for company. We stayed 2 weeks, went out walking every day and relaxed in the evenings. Highly recommended.

SIMPLY THE BEST ! Little point in repeating everything everyone else has said - - so one word sums it up for us - - FANTASTIC! We have stayed in lots of different places over the years and this accommodation is by far the best. If you are planning a stay in or around this area we can't think of anything better. Looking at the last review - - if there was a 'sheep' problem its been sorted - - Fiona we loved the sheep!

Enjoyed the holiday but we did have a few issues.. 1) Toilet seat was broken, they said that they would replace it, but it never got done. 2) The cold water tap on the bath was broken, and the toilet pull chain was also broken. 3) The railings on the patio fencing.......the sheep that were in the field kept rubbing their bodies on the fence and the iron railings kept coming out. The rail would be banging onto the property, this was not such a problem during the day but at 4.am every morning was not so good. The sheep them were able to get onto our patio and very kindly leaving their droppings. 4) The adjacent patio .....there was no fencing to the adjacent property let so the sheep would congregate on the patio in numbers, again leaving their droppings. The down stairs bedroom window was next to this and as you can imagine the smell was very bad. It didn't get cleaned up by the owners. We were unable to leave the window open. 5) There was no dishwasher in the property and when we went to use a glass there was still some lipstick on it, also some dishes had grease on them, we had to clean some items before using them. 6) In the information booklet at the property it said there was a barbeque and patio furniture.....all that we had was a bench which we had to use to block the fence so the sheep could not get through.

Beautiful cottage and very friendly owners.. They left us to our own devices but were on hand if we needed anything. Great communications from Sykes in general throughout the booking; especially liked the reminders beforehand - very helpful!

A beautiful holiday home which, although next to the farm shop and owners home, felt very private! Having said that, the owners are friendly and there to welcome you or offer advice. They also make delicious bread! It is tastefully decorated and well equipped making for a luxurious and comfortable home from home. We did a lot of travelling out in the car but there was information for more local attractions. We rarely visit the same place twice as we like to explore but have already talked about rebooking. Stunning!

Just back from a fantastic stay at The Tractor Shed and I’m already thinking about when I could go back.. We stayed here for two nights (4 adults and 1 small child) and wish I had booked for longer. The Tractor Shed is a beautiful barn conversation - exactly as described on Sykes Cottages. We really felt at home in the barn with comfortable furniture, amazing decor (I now want to decorate my whole house) and fabulous facilities. The stand alone bath was a real luxury before getting cosy on the sofa to watch a movie (we took our amazon box to connect to the tv to stream Netflix). There were also plenty of books to read in the gorgeous cabinet and many different board games and puzzles. The kitchen was one of my favourite parts of the barn with everything you could possibly need. We had two cooked breakfasts (amazing bacon and sausages from Maynard’s farmshop run by Fiona & Rob) and a full roast dinner. We found amazing fresh vegetables in a local farm shop about half a mile down the road and it was honestly the best roast dinner we’ve ever made. We had plenty of visits from Maisey the dog who was so friendly we were sad to say goodbye - especially my one year old niece. The Tractor Shed is a perfect getaway if you’re looking to relax. There is so much to do if you have a car to go exploring, with lots of local walks, bike routes and plenty of castles/parks/houses to see. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone without a car as there is no footpath on the main road. Check out was supposed to be 10am but we were told that morning we could stay for the rest of the day as there were no other gusts arriving that day which was very generous. I’d rate the whole stay 10/10 and will definitely be back. It made my 30th Birthday a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to go back.

Rob and Fiona were incredibly welcoming and friendly.. And the farm shop meant we had to go about 15m to get delicious food to cook in the stunning kitchen. Just the ticket for a weekend break from the city

The tractor shed accommodation and hosting exceeds all expectation. Online photos and information simply does not do it justice. We were hoping for a hassle free break where we could shut out the world surrounded by beautiful views and that is precisely what we got. The host was friendly and relaxed; leaving us to it, whilst providing wood for the log fire and a folder detailing information about the excellent location and eateries. The barn is so beautifully presented with amazing attention to detail; it is not at all over looked and the heating and log burner kept the barn constantly toastie. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in and the bath was beautiful. Maisie the farm dog is a lovely added feature, coming morning and night for a quick pet. (However she does not pester and leaves promptly if you do not open the door to her) We can not wait to return to the beautiful sunrises with the children on a regular basis. Many thanks Jordan and Kayleigh

We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to celebrate a big birthday and girlie weekend. Fiona(sorry Rob, we didn't get to meet you!) was just lovely-really accommodating, laid back and so friendly. The Tractor Shed was everything we hoped for-it felt like home but more interesting! It was quirky-absolutely loved the decor and accessories. The environment was relaxing, had great views with the added bonus of Maisie(the dog) who tapped at our door each day(very well trained-always in sociable hours!!) We have all had a really chilled weekend aided by the super comfortable beds/pillows and lovely linen. The Tractor Shed was so delightful that we actually struggled to go out each day ! We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for a long weekend. The cottage was spotless with quality furnishings and bedding, with a great view over fields with sheep to keep the kids entertained. A real bonus was having the farm shop on site for fantastic sausages and bacon. A great location for exploring Shropshire and the Welsh borders. Highly recommended

We stayed here with our friends who had enjoyed a butchery course ran at the venue. The accommodation is beautiful, tastefully designed & decorated with much attention to detail - a truly luxurious tractor shed! There's a great farm shop on site where freshly baked bread is available for breakfast along with an impressive range of bacon, sausages, black pudding etc all prepared by the owner of the property Rob. We would thoroughly recommend!

Fabulous accommodation, stylishly presented and furnished yet super-comfy too.. A gorgeous home from home with the convenience of a farm shop just yards away for warm, new-baked bread and provisions. Hosts Fiona and Rob were friendly and welcoming and the cottage is in an excellent location for exploring both countryside and cities. I highly recommend!

Whilst a very nice property, we thought we were paying a premium for absolute luxury, so we were a little disappointed. We also had a couple of issues, one was a back draft from the log burner so we had to spend an evening with the doors open to get the smoke out, we hadn’t been advised that high winds caused this problem. Then we were woken before 6 on our last morning by loud individuals arriving in a taxi to the main house. Sykes Cottages haven’t been terribly helpful and the owner has done her best but if we are paying £485 for 2 nights then we expect to get value for our money. On this occasion we most certainly haven’t. Sykes also only post positive feedback on their website, so there isn’t much point in giving honest feedback as only Sykes and the owners see it!

Absolutely LOVED the holiday cottage, the place was immaculate.. The décor was gorgeous and the attention to detail was amazing. We came with our two young boys who loved the sheep out front, the fancy dress box and the board games. It had everything we needed and felt luxurious and homely.
