Holiday home
The Studio, Horseshoe Cottage is a cosy two storey studio property, set next to the owners' home in the country village of Fulbourn, 5 miles from Cambridge. This charming property has a first floor open plan living area with a dining and sitting area, and a double bed in the same room, which has sloping ceilings and country views. There is a small shower room on the ground floor, and a kitchen downstairs too. Outside, guests enjoy use of a decked patio with furniture, and there is off road parking for two cars. The Fulbourn Fen Nature Reserve is at the end of the lane, and with Cambridge, Duxford and Newmarket close by, The Studio, Horseshoe Cottage makes a lovely holiday base for couples to explore this peaceful area. Please note as of November 2022 the check in day will be a Friday

Area
Fulbourn is a small village in Cambridgeshire, tucked in the countryside close to the border with Essex and Suffolk. Fulbourn is only 5 miles away from Cambridge, the university city with beautiful buildings, museums, river, shops, cafes and restaurants. Also close by are Duxford, Newmarket racecourse, Anglesey Abbey and Wimpole Hall.

Cambridge is a delight to visit in any season: relax in its many pubs, restaurants and cafes whilst exploring the shops around the historic market place. If you want to get up, out and about, you couldn't have picked a better county to explore.

The most comfortable bed we have slept in away from home.. Don't normally sleep well when away but slept like a log here. Ideally placed for exploring Cambridgeshire - a very peaceful spot. Village shops and pubs very good too.

Great location for access to Cambridge and surrounding area good walks and lovely scenery.. Studio was compact but very well stocked and comfortable with 2 big settees. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly (including the dogs) the box of chocs and great treat. We had a great stay and would recommend for couples looking to explore this part of England

Great quiet location off a country lane but only a short walk into the village with two dog friendly pubs for evening meals.. Nice country walks just down the lane. Nice cosy accommodation with everything you need along with friendly helpful owners.

The Studio was a great venue for our needs.. We were in the area visiting an elderly relative and so required a place for a few nights stay that was comfortable but also value for money. The studio was cosy, warm (we loved the under-floor heating) and well equipped. The owner Elaine was very friendly and helpful. The local nature reserve fenland area was perfect for walking our dog and the village of Fulbourn was in walking distance with handy shops and pubs. We would definitely book again.

Stayed whilst my wife was in Addenbrookes having major surgery.. The cottage is warm and comfortable and the owners are very friendly and helpful, thank-you Elaine and Geoff. There are many walks very near and the main routes are easily accessible for traveling around the Cambridgeshire attractions making it a perfect choice for holidays in this area.

I've just spent a very enjoyable week at The Studio, helped by really nice weather. Fulbourn is a very attractive village with two pubs, a village shop and a 'chippy'. It's well situated not only for exploring Cambridgeshire but also south Norfolk and north Suffolk. I will certainly return - hopefully when the roadworks on the A14 are completed !

The Studio is quite small & compact but the upstairs living area would not suit tall people! It suited our needs and I loved the surroundings & gardens. It was perfect for our trip to Duxford air show and there are good walks at the end of the lane. We had a lovely peaceful week, the owners were very friendly & helpful and we would definitely return.

This property has surely not been inspected? Only toilet is 1.5 metres from cooker, behind sliding door that wouldn’t close, let alone lock. Sink in loo too small to wash face in. Equipment in kitchen cast-offs... odd glasses ( not all x2), one egg cup, one cup size battered cafetière etc. Weeds growing on patio. Location good, but never “ romantic “! Have 2 further bookings with Sykes in 2018. Hoping for so much better.......

The studio was very well equipped and we liked that it was on a split level. It was in a great location and there were some lovely walks right on the door-step. The apartment wasn't far from the Cambridge Park and Ride so getting into the centre was easy enough, although we preferred being away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. The owners were very welcoming and we enjoying fussing their three pooches! We had a very relaxed time and were sorry we couldn't stay longer.

We had an enjoyable stay in the Studio. Owner David abercrombie was very friendly and helpful. Fulbourn is a pleasant village within easy reach of Cambridge. The studio was very well-equipped. The one slight drawback was the sloping ceiling upstairs, which means you have to be careful not to bang your head when walking around - but this is a minor quibble. Overall the accommodation was fine.

The Studio is a lovely rural retreat in the Fens that is very quiet but far from isolated being on the outskirts of a pretty village and close to Cambridge and Ely. The hospitality cannot be faulted with wine and chocolates on arrival and two of the friendliest dogs to greet you.The accommodation is to a high standard with lots of lovely little touches such as DVDs,games and books making it feel very homely. There was a huge folder of useful information about park and ride for example as well as local shops, restaurants and places of interest. WiFi availability was a bonus. The layout feels spacious with the open plan space upstairs and kitchen downstairs and the bathroon, though bijou, works well. It is ideal for a couple and the only downside would be that it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.The kitchen is very well equipped and the washing machine helpful after muddy walks.Our week went all too quickly and we would love to do a return visit.

The owners treated us like family, nothing was a bother, especially when the weather changed and we requested the heating to be turned up! Greetings from the family dogs each time when we left and returned each day. The thatched cottage in which the owners lived was a dream house.
