Cottage is adequate, parking is interesting, this is definitely a driving holiday.. I would not recommend walking to anywhere from th is cottage as the A171 is busy and fast with no pavement.

Although there was parking it was not very good.. Stairs in cottage quite steep so any one with mobility problems would struggle getting up & down. Right on a main busy road. To access garden outside back door you had to go up half dozen steps, again problem for people with mobility problems. The owners were lovely & helpful.

We had a lovely stay.. The cottage was perfect for us in every way, and we really enjoyed our time in and around Whitby. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the bathroom enormous, and the living room comfortable and well laid out. I would definitely recommend this cottage, and the area.

Beautiful cottage, very roomy and fantastically decorated.. Really homely place. The bedrooms were amazing. Fantastic garden's and what a way to wake up in the morning and stand on the back garden and look at the sea view. Couldn't fault the accommodation in any way, great location, 10 mins by car into Whitby. Its a real credit to the owners who are obviously very proud of the place, and why wouldn't they be. Thank you for making ours and the boys stay very enjoyable, we will most definitely be coming back. We will be reccomending this place to everyone that will listen x

Helen, the owner, was really welcoming, anxious that everything was okay for us and very informative.. They also have a farmhouse bed and breakfast so was always on hand, but never intrusive.

The owners, Helen and Keith, were pleasant to chat to and were helpful.. It was ideal that we had a grassed area where we could play ball with our dog. The cottage was clean and tidy and nicely furnished. The bed was comfy. A nice touch was the welcome pack, which included a bottle of wine, flowers and a tiger loaf, my favourite. The area is lovely, we enjoyed a drive across the moors, a steam train ride to Pickering, a trip to Whitby and the time spent in Robin Hood's Bay, where our dog made lots of friends. We would certainly return to The Stables again. Many thanks.

An excellent location and a really nice, well-equipped cottage to stay in. The friendly and helpful owner was on-site. It was good that we could take the dog with us, and it was a very dog-friendly area in general, we could take him almost everywhere with us. Most beaches had areas where we could take the dog.
