Holiday home
The Shepherd's Rest is a detached cottage close to the village of Leighton just four miles from Ironbridge Gorge. The cottage sleeps two people and has open plan studio accommodation with a double bed, kitchen, dining area and sitting area together with separate external shower room. Outside is off road parking for one car and a decked area with furniture. Situated in the heart of Shropshire, The Shepherd's Rest is a lovely romantic base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Area
The historic village of Leighton, which is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1087, stands in the heart of beautiful Shropshire, and is only four miles from the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built 1777-79. The Ironbridge Gorge is one of the country's most delightful tourist attractions; situated in a lovely wooded valley, the pretty village has many pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms. A collection of industrial and Victorian themed museums make up the Ironbridge Museums, including the renowned Blist Hill Victorian Village, where you can step back in time. Enjoy the nearby medieval towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Ludlow, as well as many NT properties including Attingham Hall and Park as well as the fascinating Wroxeter Roman City and Vineyard. A wonderful all-year-round location.

Charming accommodation in a beautiful setting with stunning view of the Wrekin from the verandah.. It's very convenient for local attractions at Ironbridge, Bridgnorth & Shrewsbury & there are some great walks to be had from the property. One thing to note - the property is very small & its facilities are necessarily basic, particularly when it comes to cooking. Be prepared to rely on a microwave, kettle & toaster for your needs or eat out!

The Hut was idyllic, tranquil and had everything we could wish for, we were really pleased that we brought disposable BBQs and we couldn't find instructions to use the microwave/grill but to sit out on the decking, listen to the stream and the birds singing was complete bliss, we loved every minute of it and we are already thinking about booking again.. Thank you.

The location was great for walking up The Wrekin - plus it gets dark at night and is excellent for star gazing. The owner was friendly and it was nice to be on a proper working farm. It was very cosy too once the wood burner was going. All in all a great place for a digital detox.
