Lovely property, beautifully presented, a credit to the owners and the cleaners, it was spotless.. Ideal location for Cockermouth town with a little local bus service available to take you into town if you didn't want to walk or take the car. Perfect for exploring lakes and not too far from Keswick.

This is a lovely house with a very well equipped kitchen and plenty enough living space for the people it sleeps.. It's in a great position to explore the area, there's a lovely Greenway walk into Cockermouth right across the road. Our only negative experience was that the housekeeper parked up outside and just as we were putting our last things in the car, the second it went 10:00 the housekeeper rang the doorbell to come in, it made us feel like we were being pushed out and took away from the welcome, 10:02 and we'd have been gone, while I understand the tight schedules especially now it seemed very rude.

Once we were able to get into the property (the owner had changed the key code without telling yourselves - however a quick phone call remedied this).. We were very pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of this property. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable - and large. As there were only the two of us, and the dog, we had loads of space. The property is ideally situated for Cockermouth (we are well acquainted with this area as up until last August we lived only 8 miles away). The property was clean and we loved the furnishings. We hope to return sometime later in the year. The only drawback would be the lack of an enclosed garden for the dog.

Would be happy to return to this home.. Warm, spacious and very comfortable. Impressed with the communication from Sykes beforehand to address issues.

This property really should be a 5 star.. However, on arrival the freezer which is not mentioned was so iced up the drawers would not open and took an age to defrost. It required a general hoover through and there were cobwebs on the ceiling in the living room. One of the living room table lamps did not work as did the upstairs hallway light. There were no instructions for any of the appliances. The on-suite bathroom smelled heavily of drains and we finished up using the other bathroom. Finally outside the front entrance the step and ground was covered in bird droppings which made it very unpleasant to use.

We found the accommodation ideally situated and generally provided good facilities for our party of six.. However the mattress in the master en-suite bedroom is really uncomfortable - you can feel the springs in it. It was so bad that I moved in the middle of one night to the third bedroom, which had a much more comfortable mattress. The kitchen would benefit from the addition of a potato peeler and a potato masher.

We loved The School House lots of room for our family with two Grand children ,Just a few minor things that need to be sorted ,No instruction for the Washing Machine or the dish washer.. We had to Google them on our daughters phone .Feel the Washing Machine needs up dating .No Patio Furniture which was disappointing has we has such lovely weather would have been nice to have been able to sit outside .Most unpleasant brush left to wash up with did not use so left on the kitchen window has did not want to throw away but hope fully the house keeper will .

Hair drier would have been a bonus Also bedroom window had a big hole and let in rain.. We had to mop up puddles after heavy rain. A remote for dvd missing A kitchen waste paper bin would have been helpful

A lovely place to visit.. The cottage was in a lovely place. St Bees beach is lovely. Lovely expanse of beach and very quiet. The beach cafe was really nice. The cottage was very big, so lots of room. Refurbishment kept in line with the old building. Overall very nice indeed.

Wonderful location and accommodation.. Good location for exploring the Northern lake, West coast and not to hard to visit other parts of the Lakes.

The cottage (more two-storey apartment than cottage) was perfect for our three-generation family group of four adults, one toddler and one pooch.. We loved the large rooms and nice furnishings. The third bedroom was a bit tight, but great for our guests. All services and facilities were good: water, heating, wi-fi, sky TV (freeview channels only). The travel cot and high chair were most welcome too. The location was perfect for the Western Lakes - and local shops and services too. All in all, we loved our stay here.

Great place to stay for the Xmas week for 6 of us.. Very spacious, apart from the 3rd bedroom which lacks room and furniture - but the other 2 bedrooms are large and have plenty of storage if you're willing to share. Great location with easy access to the Northern Lakes and Cumbria - Cockermouth centre is only a 20 min footpath walk away or 5 min by car. Definitely not a 'cottage', being a large apartment over 2 floors of the refurbished old Grammar school but tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, quiet and relaxing and certainly a possible re-booking in future.

Beautiful property in quiet location ideal for exploring Lake District.. Property is fantastic and I'd imagine we'll rebook next year. Couple of very very minor issues which were highlighted to the owner and dealt with in a professional and efficient manner.
