The nearest place to do any proper food shopping was about a 10 minute drive away in Hornsea down the country lanes.. The 'local shop' listed in the details was actually within the local pub and this was not quite what I expected. It was however a comfortable place to stay which was warm and welcoming when we arrived. very quiet and a 'tucked away' location.

We loved our stay; the cottage was beautifully converted and generously fitted out, and the situation was great – near a very friendly pub, close to the Trans-Pennine Trail (and other footpaths and bridleways), and only four miles from Hornsea.. We will happily return.

We enjoyed this holiday cottage it was very nice, very clean, not what I would normally book but we enjoyed ourselves.. I will say the accommodation was maybe a bit too 'Ikea' for us as we like more traditional. We will be looking for another holiday near to York we thought the city was fantastic and we enjoyed going up the coast to Scarborough and Whitby.

A beautiful holiday home, well designed. Mixed bag of weather whilst we were there, but on the rainy days it is a pleasure to stay in, light the wood burner and enjoy a cosy day of relaxation.

My partner & 3 Bassett Hounds are staying in The Chapel cottage for the 2nd time & have already booked in advance 4 October 2014. This is lovely first class accommodation, facilities are good, fabulous wood burner, but as of yet have not reaped the benefit as its been warm enough without it. You get a lovely welcome hamper, towels to use on the beach, your first wood pack, towel quality is excellent! Close to dog friendly beaches, direct routes to Bridlington, Scarborough & our favourite place of all time Whitby. We couldn't ask for better, & highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in such lovely surroundings.

The location of the cottage, the high standard of quality, lovely welcome pack and flowers, towels for the beach. In fact there is nothing negative about the cottage at all. The area is lovely and quiet, pub/restaurant just a walk away, great walks and beaches for the dogs, especially Mappleton and Ulrome.
