The converted chapel was completed and furnished to a high standard .. Couldn't have asked for more facilities . Owner left a welcome card and a small welcome hamper. The premises were spotless and the supplied bed linen and towels were of good quality . The village was exceptionally quiet and peaceful and the pub only a few hundred yards away where we enjoyed two very nice evening meals.

We stayed for New Year.. The cottage is just wonderful. My kids were delighted when we arrived and the cottage was decorated for Christmas complete with a tree and chocolate decorations and a lovely little welcome hamper. Really well equipped kitchen and 3 bathrooms! Comfy beds and beautiful wood burning fire. It was a short drive to Hornsea which has a gorgeous beach. We will be back!

The chapel was lovely to stay in, cosy and modern in a beautiful old building.. Like staying in a Grand Designs home! it's been really thought out well with a designer interior and finish. Don't pack the kitchen sink! its well equipped and has an easy to read welcome pack. Just a little thing like having a plug in night light in my bedroom as well as easy to reach bedside lights was much appreciated. Amazing coast and country side around. Loved Hornsea very pretty the Mere, town and seafront, has everything you need 5 minute drive away. Would recommend Pockilngton market and the scenic drive around the wolds and villages as well as Bridlington, almost forgot Beverly too Beautiful! and lots of free parking in towns, makes a difference.

Cottage was ok, but certain items need replacing ie pillows were very poor and the bedding is old and well washed out, one of the pillow cases were ripped at seams, bread bin dirty, cutlery drawer dirty with crumbs in and toothpaste splashes on tiles.. The cottage lacks attention to detail in certain areas which was a shame. Overall a good stay was had just a shame standards were not met.

The chapel is beautifully done and very comfortable.. Just 100 yards away or so there is a very welcoming pub with good food. There is plenty to keep you occupied within easy reach and even more if you are prepared to drive an hour or so. Perhaps the only drawback is the lack of outside space but the positives far outweigh that.

We loved the new chapel.. It was more than we hoped for. Extremely clean with every need catered for.The owners were very helpful recommending somewhere to eat. Pub in the village served great food and we also are at the Falcon which was also very good. Lovely welcome basket which was very thoughtful.

Excellent holiday.. Booking was easy - Sykes app is so useful and takes the hassle out of the whole process. I didn’t have to find time to chase details or worry about payment as it was all done automatically. I received a text 2 days before with details of key collection and the owners had left comprehensive instructions about everything we could possibly want or need to know. Fantastic and highly recommended. Thank you for helping us enjoy half term.

Whilst the chapel was lovely conversion - it somehow wasn't comfortable.. Major problem was the energy efficient lighting - fine in principle but impossible to find a spot where you could read a book - needs a decent reading lamp at least. Same problem in the rear bedroom which we used - very poor bedside lights - one of which didn't work. (Couldn't use the front bedroom as the rooflight blind will not close.) Range of kitchen equipment poor and of poor quality - difficult to cook a full meal with what was available.

We felt that there were a few basic kitchen items unavailable, for example - a potato masher and a medium sized casserole dish or oven dish.. A larger frying pan would also have been useful, the one supplied was too small for pan frying fish. However, on the plus side, when we had a problem with the water failing to drain away in the shower, the owners responded to it very quickly and rectified it the same day.

Extremely comfortable, all mod cons and very clean. We had a minor problem on arrival and the owner rectified it immediately in a very pleasant manner. Couldn't fault it, unless you want to sit outside as there is no garden. Plenty of beautiful beaches within a few miles, lovely walks and of course Hull, City of Culture 2017 is just half an hour away. Loved the small market town of Beverley, with plenty of parking spaces and the beautiful Minster. The Wrygarth Inn, a two minute walk, looks tired but serves good food. We had a very enjoyable week here.

The chapel provided all that we needed for our weeks stay, the location was peaceful yet within a couple of minutes walk to a pub. The accommodation was warm and of a good size; the bedrooms were well fitted out with ample storage in both, the beds comfortable. The en suite wet rooms were finished to a high standard. The free WiFi was very welcome.

We stayed at the New Chapel last weekend for a Birthday getaway. Dawn the owner was so friendly and helpful. We received an unexpected welcome pack on arrival including a bottle of wine plus some other treats. The standard of work on the chapel was excellent, very tastefully decorated, and eco-friendly to boot! Dawn showed us round the attached one bedroom annex and that too was beautiful. We don't normally return to a cottage as we like to discover different areas of the country, but we may very well return to Great Hatfield Chapels quite soon. Hornsea and beach within walking distance and Wrygarth Pub/Restaurant 2 minutes walk away (we had an excellent meal there). Lovely peaceful village too.

The New Chapel has been renovated to a high specification, and offered extremely comfortable accommodation. The extras such as the welcome pack, the books, DVDs and games, and the local entertainment and walking information were thoughtful touches. The property was well placed in a quiet village location within walking distance of an excellent pub (serving freshly cooked meals with locally sourced ingredients), and served as a good base for trips and visits to destinations throughout the region.
