This lovely sensitively converted chapel with all the comforts you would find at home.. gave us a unique holiday experience, it’s awesome games room and ample space allowed everyone to fully enjoy the holiday. Whiteparish is a beautiful village, and the Chapel is located right in the heart of the village. There are two excellent pubs and well stocked village shop. I find it very difficult to find fault with this holiday opportunity. So we will be returning next year.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the chapel.. Not only is it a unique and interesting place to stay but it was also very well equipped and positioned in a lovely village. The owner could not have been more helpful and overall we have a great time. The outside toilet is brilliant by the way - great addition

Roger the owner was very friendly and helpful throughout the process.. Clearly the previous guests had a really good time as the bottle and recycle bins were full to overflowing; unfortunately this meant that some items we could have recycled were put in the general waste. Whilst the overall cleanliness was acceptable, there were areas in the kitchen and various surfaces that were sticky which we cleaned ourselves. Likewise over time previous guests have failed to clean the grill pan properly, and despite some aggressive scrubbing I couldn't remove the residue build up. We lined the bottom with foil every time before use. Other than the above, I would suggest a further indoor toilet for larger parties would be a good thing. On the positive side, the chapel is a large and homely place to stay. The games room couldn't fail to provide amusement and we had a really good time. The pub around the corner was excellent and the village was really nice. As previously said Roger was really helpful and I thank him for allowing people to use this quirky accommodation. I wish him all the best in these troubled times.

We had a lovely week.. House was a great size and the games room was an excellent addition for the whole family. The property could have been a little cleaner on arrival, and beds/bedding and seating in games room really need replacing. Saying that it didn’t stop us from having a very enjoyable time and it really is a lovely property in a nice location.

Lovely property; oodles of space; welcoming , warm and comfortable .. Well equipped for self catering, and for entertaining two boys , aged 10 and 13 years. The "games room " is perfect for snooker, table tennis , and playing guitar ( loudly!), or just relaxing . The beds are very comfortable, unlike many in holiday lets. There was a slight problem with the shower temperature; the owner arranged for the pleasant, efficient plumber to fix it almost immediately ( and this was during a holiday weekend ) The owner was easily contactable and reassuring. Nothing was too much trouble, and he remained good humoured throughout our communications. We would definitely book there again, if possible .

The methodist chapel was a fantastic getaway.. Our first visit here. We stayed 4 nights here with 6 children. As soon as we walked in it felt warm and cosy. The place was clean with a big games room which had a full size snooker table and table tennis table which entertained everyone.Lots of books to read and a big DVD collection. Lots of space for everyone to do what they want. The local shop was just around the corner and had all the basics you need. Only half hour drive to Southampton to visit the solent sky museum which was interesting. No one wanted to leave when our time was up. No wifi connection but wasn't missed Would definitely come again. Recommended!

The Chapel has a great location and seconds from a surprisingly well stocked village shop.. It was peaceful and easy parking. All communication was fantastic and the owner/key holder always replied promptly for any questions/issues. The internet is non existent as others have mentioned. I dont know if it is the chapel's internet or the area that struggles but if you are relying on internet, this is NOT the place. There is no outdoor area except the outside of the house where there is a bench and some chairs which sufficed but for pets or outdoor eating, this is not the place either. The star of the Chapel is the huge games room and the huge kitchen diner lounge with its fantastic long wooden table. This is a basic house with huge amounts of mix and match furniture/household items which made it feel a little like a Youth Hostel in the kindest possible way. We were a group of girls away for some R&R and it was perfect for us.

Had a lovely weekend stay in the chapel. We stayed for a family wedding in the area. The chapel was spotless and had everything you needed. 2 double bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 bunk beds. Walk in shower was great and so was the roll top bath in the main bathroom. Whiteparish is a lovely village, local pub and shop nearby. Games room with full size snooker table, table tennis table and foosball table. Great for kids too as lots of games and toys. Would love to stay again. Owner was very friendly and gave all the information we needed.

Amazing chapel, had everything we needed for the weekend.. Would definitely go back. Kitchen facilities great, bathrooms great and bedrooms great. The full size snooker table was a big surprise wasn’t expecting it to be that large and enjoyed playing a game of table tennis. Lovely village as well, local pub the kings head was lovely and served nice food and the local shop had everything you needed.

This is a great place for families to get away from it all, play traditional games together and have lots of space to do it inside.. If you need or expect Wi-Fi however, forget it. At no point during our stay did we manage to get a connection on any of the devices we had with us. We also did not find this a particularly dog friendly property. Outside space is very limited (the patio is an exaggeration) and the village was not great on dog walking either. Overall this property is spacious and in a good location to explore Salisbury and the rest of Wiltshire, really let down on the communications front as we would not have booked it had we known there was no Wi-Fi.

Our stay at The Chapel was absolutely amazing, from the moment we arrived, it was so cosy, warm and quirky, very homely.. We had very kindly been left milk and a very tasty loaf of bread. The kitchen / living space is huge and could easily have accommodated 2 families. The games room itself could have kept us occupied all weekend. There were just 2 small downsides, it would have been even better if there had been another inside toilet and the bedrooms are lacking storage. The pub just up the was fantastic, brilliant food at a very reasonable price. We loved the chapel and would definitely come back. Oh, the owner was also extremely helpful.

Great location, great house for sharing with friends/extended family so long as you don't mind the rather intimate bedrooms.. ..friendly village with nice pubs to go to for meals.

We spent a family Christmas at the chapel. Myself and my husband, eldest daughter with partner, and three teenage children. This review is written from my perspective, as Mum, and the sensible adult. The children all thought it absolutely brilliant and spent a considerable amount of time in the games room. The downstairs of the property is fabulous, a large family room and an even larger games room with full size snooker table and table tennis - both much used. The kitchen fairly well equipped, but Christmas dinner for seven was slightly challenging. We found it lacking in silly things: potato peeler, kitchen scissors, serving spoons, rather than crockery, pans and electrical goods. I had two big issues with the property and as the week went on, they became the elephant in the room. The bedrooms are upstairs in the chapel roof and the bathroom downstairs across the games room and through a hallway. There is one indoors toilet and it is integral to the bathroom. It seemed a long way to the loo in the middle of the night, and the squabbling and queues for the bathroom, particularly for the bedtime teeth cleaning became wearing. We took a dog, a rather lively spaniel and my biggest issue was that the main door opened directly to the street, which the dog clearly saw as a bid for freedom. There is no garden, and so every time the dog needed a wee someone (usually me or my husband) had to walk said dog around the roads. That, combined with someone having to hang on to the dog every time the door was opened led to a stressful time. The children would be back in a heartbeat. I wouldn't take the dog there again, and I've decided that I am getting a bit long in the tooth and have had too many children to be sleeping on a different level to the bathroom. The other thing to be aware of is that the building has been constructed with acoustics in mind, and noise travels exceptionally well. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and would recommend it to others, and my rating is personal and not reflective of the rest of the group.

January 2018
Quirky property with fantastic games room, kitchen and lounge areas.. Only issue for us was that the front door was in the lounge and opened directly onto the street making it difficult to prevent the dog from escaping Whiteparish is a lovely village but lack of footpaths make it tricky to walk a lively spaniel. Both pubs are very good but different in their offerings.

Microwave needs fixing and the 2nd toilet other than these 2 trivia little things this place was well worth staying! Nice warm and cosy even though they are such big rooms!!! Great time here! Needed longer stay but nice break! Big thanks to Roger. We would definitely book again!

The Methodist chapel was a absolute delight.. Facilities in accommodation was plenty with everything needed and more. Perfect location for a relaxed break away from stress. Children and adults both lived it and being able to bring our dogs made the break even more special. Would definitely recommend

The facilities were excellent - altho we knew there was a games room there was far more than we expected, including Christmas trees.. There were plenty of DVD's, CD's and toys, as well as hundreds of books.

The cottage and its facilities were fantastic and suited our needs perfectly.. If I was to nit-pick, we struggled to get the shower pumping really hot water (dodgy valve?) and one of the kids trapped their fingers in a bedroom door which swings shut of its own accord, but overall we had a fantastic experience and would certainly go back.

Amazing!!! We booked this as a last minute get away. The building is beautiful, with so much character. The bedrooms are all good sizes with comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need (a home away from home) So much to do inside the house, between playing snooker, table tennis or table football or even reading one of the many books provided. Lovely family pup at the end of the road. We all had a fantastic short break and wish we could have stayed longer. Wifi password was provided just before we arrived and worked great! Vendor was very helpful.

Loved the accommodation, and having the games facilities was a real bonus. The Chapel was spacious, warm and comfortable. There was a great selection of DVDs and CDs to watch and listen to too. Plus the novelty of staying in a converted chapel. The location was great too, went on some lovely walks and Salisbury isn't far.

We hired for weekend with four children / four adults, weather was damp and miserable but that didn't matter as the chidren absolutely loved it. The games room is awesome and the place as a whole brought back childhood memories of an old sunday school. The villagers were all very, very friendly. It had everything needed for cooking, sleeping, cleaning showering etc., and made an excellent base whether going into the new forest or to the coast. I would say ideal place if you have young children. Owner was very friendly also, we had option to call him at anytime if we needed anything.

We stayed here August 2015 and had a great time. There is plenty of room in the chapel, the games room is excellent, it has a tv, dvd player, wifi and music system as well ,so if it was chucking it down the kids would have plenty to keep them occupied for ages. The shower room is good, and there is a freestanding bath in the other bathroom. There's a washing machine and tumble dryer too. The kitchen/diner is large with a table big enough for 8 people or more. There are two pubs in the village and both do nice food. The village is quiet and is on the edge of the New Forest. Salisbury is not far to go for shopping. We would certainly go back there and would recommend it for big families.

We were all together to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday, and it was certainly one to remember! Although the chapel is modernised and comfortable, it retains the charm, dimensions and quirky features of its original use. Our grandsons loved the games room, as did the adults of course! It was great for all 8 of us to be able to eat round the table together. The amenities in the village were perfect, as was the countryside for walking.

The Methodist Chapel was an excellent choice for a party of seven plus two dogs. The property was very well equipped, with modern appliances and there was an impressive wet room and a spacious bathroom. The games room was superb! The children's eyes lit up, when they saw the full size snooker table, the table tennis table, the football game, the piano and the small organ. We loved this interesting, spacious property. Whiteparish is a quiet, attractive village and there is plenty to do in the area.

The owner was so friendly and helpful. The property was an ideal village escape for a family. The extra large games room allowed the children and teenagers plenty of room to play snooker, piano, organ and games even on a rainy January day and the basket full of toys was greatly appreciated by our youngest. Everything was provided and the kitchen was a dream to cook in. We thoroughly enjoyed our eleven day stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The village is very friendly and has a well-stocked local shop and three pubs all serving food.

This lovely property really had the wow factor - it was a lovely place to stay, with all the comforts of home. The space was enormous! There were two huge rooms on the ground floor - the old school room which was a kitchen/diner/living area and where we spent most of our time. The second was the old church room, which had a couple of sofa's and a TV, and three large games tables. Above this room was a mezzanine level where the three adjoining bedrooms were. The beds were very comfortable, which is always a bonus! In the children's room there was a large selection of Polly Pocket toys which kept my 3 year old twins occupied for many hours! The shower in the wet room was the best - I could've passed a day in there!! There were a couple of downsides to the property, but nothing major. The first was that the 3 bedrooms were small and adjoined. We were a party of two young families including a baby, so baby crying in the night meant that we were all awake. This wouldn't be an issue with an older party though. The second was that there was only one indoor toilet - which was an issue especially as we had two toilet-training children and a baby that required bathing. There was an outdoor toilet, but I wasn't brave enough to use it just in case I found a spider... It also can't be used after 10pm as it disturbs the neighbours. The surrounding locality was fantastic - the corner shop sold everything we needed, the Tesco's delivery drivers do many deliveries to the property and knew it well. Bearing in mind our trip was for young children, there was a great park just across the main road there were many soft play amenities within 1/2hr drive. We spent one day at Poulton's Park for Peppa Pig World and would highly recommend it. All in all a lovely stay - a well equipped holiday accommodation with a friendly, helpful owner. There were plenty of games/books/toys and home comforts.
